Bringing Forth Treasures Old and New – Part 2

Continued from part one at:

https://www.minimannamoments.com/bringing-forth-treasures-old-new/

We were looking at the actIONs of the apostles and the attributes noted in the scriptures which identified them as: little christs/christians/disciples/apostles.

These are words that should also describe us, and be evident in our lives for the world to see as we follow Messiah Yeshua/Jesus.

obedience

grace

power

boldness

and

glory.

Resuming at

Grace which

we understand as His favor.

Strong’s Hebrew: 2580. חֵן (chen) — favor, grace

Phonetic Spelling: (khane) חֵן

favor, gracious, pleasant, precious, well-favored From chanan; graciousness, i.e. Subjective (kindness, favor) or objective (beauty) — favour, grace(-ious), pleasant, precious, (well-)favoured.

In Hebrew, chet or chen,

also the place of His presence.

Chet/Chen is represented by the fence and describes a protected garden (Eden), private place, an inner room or a sanctuary…

Recall the pictograph depicting grace as a place, the place of our hiding and the womb where we are conceived and develop before birth. We are in His grace now also and in ‘a womb’ waiting to be reborn into a new resurrected glorified body; then we know we shall be like Him.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: 17And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. 18For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
19For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.
20For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, 21Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
22For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.
Romans 8:19

Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we shall be. We know that, when He appears, we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him just as He is. 1John 3:2

And we will become aware of a new desire in our hearts placed there by our Fathers’ Spirit.

A new direction maybe?

New instructions?

New Fire for His Word?

and the Lord He gives the increase.

Hearing about Him is insufficient.

Reading about Him is not enough.

Thinking we know is not fullness.

We have to be doers,

this is ACTions of the sent ones.

Not readers, talkers and thinkers, but doers of His word.

Just reading will not benefit, especially speed reading! We have to take it in, like real food, chew it and digest it for it to give any benefit of its’ nutrients into our bodies; both physical and spiritual.

We are told to Consider Our Ways in Haggai 1:5-7

Not Make Excuses.

The people were saying, and giving reasons not to act.

The time has not come, even the time for the house of the Lord to be rebuilt ” (Haggai 1:2).

We Must Get Our Priorities in Order.

The people said that it was not time to rebuild the temple

(Haggai 1:2). …

Remember Our Dependence Upon God. …

Obey the Word of God… Not what people are saying!

5 Now therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts; Consider your ways. 6 Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but ye have not enough; ye drink, but ye are not filled with drink; ye clothe you, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages to put it into a bag with holes. 7 Thus saith the Lord of hosts;Consider your ways.

Acts 5:36 and 2:39

The CALL is by His spirit and we have the choice to accept or refuse it.

By doing nothing we have refused and usually go on to live a life just like our peers saying to ourselves, ‘this is Gods’ plan for me’…is it because its an easier more comfortable and familiar way?? Four decades ago our Heavenly Fathers’ call came to this life and the message He gave for this servant to share has not changed… Repent… Turn around …come out from the world be saved, delivered, healed, filled with His spirit and make disciples; teaching them to do the same.

Strong’s Hebrew: 7121. קָרָא (qara) — to call, proclaim, read

Imagine, if we, all of our generation had done this, just think how many would be in the Kingdom today…but we always think it’s someone else’s job… we just want to live a nice, comfortable life….BUT… It’s not too late, we have today to share freely what we freely received.

The mission field of a ready harvest is right where you are…

We are not man appointed (vs. 38, 39) and if it’s not by His Spirit, it will fail.

The anointing of His spirit of holiness

by His grace brings the power

manifest through boldness

to witness and to DO

what God has called us to do in His Word.

Obedience in the name of Yeshua/Jesus and by His power we work the works of Him who sent us Yeshua/Jesus.

And by His power to destroy the works of the devil… this is what the power is for and why He came.

1 John 3:8 For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Acts 4:13 Holy BOLDNESS it was obvious they’d been with Yeshua/Jesus…. do people see that in us?

5:29 Obey God rather than man OBEDIENCE

29 But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey God rather than men.

Then Peter . . . answered.

1 that God must be obeyed rather than earthly rulers;

2 God raised up Jesus whom they hanged on the cross;

3 exalted him to his right hand;

4 to be a Prince and Savior, to grant Israel the opportunity to repent, and to obtain forgiveness;

5 that they were witnesses of these facts, and so was the Holy Spirit.

To Hear and Obey

are the essence of the

shema

with which they were all familiar.

6:6,7 Brought INCREASE and BLESSING 6 whom they set before the apostles; and when they had prayed, they laid hands on them. 7 Then the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to the faith.

6:10 7 And the word of God increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. 8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. 9 Then there arose certain of the synagogue, which is called the synagogue of the Libertines, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of them of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen 10And they were not able to resist the wisdom and the spirit by which he spake.

the POWER of His Spirit of Holiness is IRRESISTIBLE brings anointing /POWER

BOLDNESS attracts GLORY/anointing.

Prov. 28:1+12

The Boldness of the Righteous.

1 The ungodly man flees when no one pursues: but the righteous is confident as a lion

The righteous are bold as lions.

וְ֝צַדִּיקִ֗ים but the righteous wə·ṣad·dî·qîm

כִּכְפִ֥יר as a lion kiḵ·p̄îr

יִבְטָֽח are bold yiḇ·ṭāḥ.

Proverbs 28:1 doesn’t have in mind that kind of boldness when it says the righteous have it and the wicked don’t. The boldness here is the boldness required for a just/righteous cause. What is it about the wicked that makes them so often flee (in the presence of justice) when no one is pursuing?

Could it be that..

When the righteous

Because of the anointing

Strong’s Hebrew: 4886. מָשַׁח (mashach) — to smear, anoint

מְשִׁיחָה. More Hebrew words for anointing. noun מְשִׁיחָה. unction, band, cord, strand, thread

The high priest’s anointment is otherwise designated by the verb kadesh ( qaddesh; “to sanctify”). Indeed, the anointment “sanctifies” the high priest by removing him from the realm of the profane and empowering him to operate in the realm of the sacred, i.e., to handle the holy items.

Thus the Hebrew word mâshach that means to rub with oil also, by implication, means to consecrate. Mâshîyach (a derivative) is translated into the English adjective ‘anointed’ and thus means a consecrated person or thing.

Anointing stands for greatness (Sifre, Num. 117; Yer. Bik. ii. 64 d ): consequently, “Touch not mine anointed” signifies “my great ones.” All the vessels of the tabernacle, also, were consecrated with the sacred oil for all time to come (Num. R. xii.).

Strong’s Greek: 5545. χρῖσμα (chrisma) — an anointing, unction

From chrio; an unguent or smearing, i.e. (figuratively) the special endowment (“chrism”) of the Holy Spirit — anointing, unction.

The sick were healed, miracles were wrought, demons cast out…

Boldness with great power and grace and obedience

they were told to leave serving tables and give themselves to prayer.

We too must put the Word first place!

Josh 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Acts 6:4 4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

1 And in those days, when the number of the disciples was multiplied, there arose a murmuring of the Grecians against the Hebrews, because their widows were neglected in the daily ministration. 2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables.

Our Heavenly Father has a due time and season.

Be ready to do, or to stop doing, that which He is telling you.

Be open to change, to move on and serve in a deeper way.

Be a doer of His Word – not a hearer only…

ACTS of the apostles and disciples they ACTED.

 מעשי השליחים

The Apostles were Hebrews.

Born and raised Jewish/Hebrew

so they were taught the language of their families. When Messiah appeared to Paul on the Damascus road, he said that Yeshua/Jesus spoke to him in Hebrew.

Acts 21, it is written about Paul, “He spoke to them in the Hebrew language.” And on his way to Damascus, Paul says, Jesus spoke to him in Hebrew: “I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?’”

It appears once in the Bible as an important gift of the spirit:

“Better is the end of a thing than its beginning; and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit”.

These are rewarded by the Lord

We need this same anointing now and its as available to us today as it was 2000+ years ago.

WHY?

It’s to work the works of Yeshua/Jesus and by so doing, destroy the works of the devil; which is why He came.

All we have to do is ask and receive

because we are to work while it is still day

for the night is coming

and very soon

when no man can work.

John 9:4

Yeshua/Jesus told them in His own words when the promise of the power was given in v8;

to receive the power

to be witnesses

6:8 Stephen was one of His Disciples,

he was full of faith and power;

he did great wonders and miracles

and loved not his life unto physical death.

Most significantly…Jesus/Yeshua stood up for him as he transitioned.

Deliverance brings Joy.

Boldness, Power, Grace, Glory, Obedience,

they are essential

ingredients for a walk/halak bearing much fruit.

The GRACE of His Spirit of Holiness infused them with the BOLDNESS to preach in POWER and demonstration bringing GLORY to the father by their OBEDIENCE.

The BOLDNESS came through the GLORY

anointing them

to be OBEDIENT to their CALLing.

Let’s shake ourselves out of complacency;

let’s deliver ourselves from the spirit of entitlement which gives us ‘self time’ we think we deserve.

Procrastination will kill the anointing of the spirit of God in us.

Heavenly Father I come to you in the Name of Jesus/Yeshua. I truly desire to be obedient to your call on my life, so I lay down my life right now and dedicate the remaining time you grant me on this earth to work in and for your Kingdom. I desire to work the works of Jesus/Yeshua and be a witness unto Him and humbly ask for You to equip me, in order to fulfill that which You have for me to do. Forgive me for procrastinating and putting off what I know has been in my heart. Strengthen me to make the step of faith that I need to take to be right in the center of Your will for me. Thank you for doing abundantly above all I can ask or even think and showing me the direction to take so I too can be changed. Thank you for the grace to be obedient so that the boldness and power of Your Spirit can bring glory to your Name through my life.

Bringing Forth Treasures Old & New

Bringing Forth Treasures Old and New

in the course of our halak/ walk/ Journey

Strong’s Hebrew: 1980. הָלַך (halak) — to go, come, walk

we mature and the more we read and hear truth the more we recognize error and that some interpretations are derived from men’s minds and natural thinking.

It is not so strange then, if we amend our understanding of His Word from time to time.

This word is a living word and speaks directly to us. It is a miracle in and of itself. Our humility is seen as we submit to His Truth and recognize that we may have thought wrong because of some teaching we heard, or lack of it, while we were still new babes in His kingdom.

Therefore there may be what appears as inconsistencies if one reads earlier mmm posts. They have not been amended on purpose, so as to show progress, as we are all on the Way, learning as we go! No one knows everything except the Father and the scripture references that mmm was led to put on home page about seeking treasures and pearls are referring to the truth of His Word.

As we dig, He shows us more and so many times the ‘new’ is only ‘new’ to us as individuals; and it always adds to our understanding. Line upon line and preset upon precept. Is.28:10

For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

We are not doing away with foundations rather we are building upon them.

That being said, the content of this post is a combination of old and new treasures; as much of this message was received in the early 90s and was shared with many by way of newsletter, physical meetings and radio. (No internet back then!)

So today it is an

old treasure

yet now with the Hebrew added it is a

new treasure also.

Our Heavenly Father gives teachings/ the understanding of His Word; at specific times; there is always a trend for a message to the body. 2 Peter 1:20

For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. 18And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount. 19We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

The same message is given to others and that is confirmation of His time to release.

It is His Meat in due season.

Psalms 104:27 |These wait all upon thee; that thou mayest give them their meat in due season.

Psalms 145:15 | The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.

Matthew 24:45 | Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

Luke 12:42 | And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

Proverbs 15:23 | man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!

The subject content of every post is prayerfully received as directed by His Spirit and is to serve the needs of His ecclesia/called apart ones.

In these days when many cannot meet together or hear His words of encouragement and edification, the Internet has become a spiritual lifeline to so many. So we must work while it is day…

John 9:4 |I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

and His Word of life/chaim, can go out on the airwaves; a modern way to receive manna from Heaven right into our homes where we are.

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it. Isaiah 55:11

Our father knows what His children’s needs are and not for fame or gain; freely we have received freely we give.

These servings of substance are to fortify the reader in every way possible.

They are not mine, ours, or otherwise, so freely share with others.

He will take His word and infuse each one with His lifes chaim.

John 6:63 | It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

That is the meaning behind the

treasures old and new

and that each one will hear and bear witness of His truth in their own spirit.

We are all responsible to check things for ourselves.

We may differ personally on certain points however, we can only give out from the storehouse of life’s experiences. If we have not walked the walk, we have nothing to say. Until we understand who we are and why we are here, we walk in darkness and the light of His truth is not lighting our path.

Psalms 119:105  Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Yeshua/ Jesus experienced all the issues of the natural life/

חַיִּים chaim lifes

Alternate Spellings: Hayyim, Hayim, Chayyim, Chaim, Haim

The Hebrew word for life has a special ending that is similar to the plural ending (im) but slightly different (ayim), specifically indicating that it is double, or a pair. The ending of the word chaim means specifically two lives, which speaks of God’s plan for our life here on earth, and the life to come.

so He could identify with each one of us. If you are one who wonders why so many things have befallen you; it is for you to experience them so that you can identify with others and help them, encourage them. You came through it so can they. Things He asks us to do are in

Matt.25:35-40

35 For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you took Me in, 36 I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you visited Me.’ 37 Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink?…

In the natural sense we understand yet there is another WAY to

Feed the hungry: which is offering the word of God as spiritual food,

Give a drink: thirsty people have their thirst satisfied by the drinking of the Words of life –

chaim – lifes

His Word is continually springing up to eternal life.

Taking in the stranger: giving them shelter from the elements and clothing the naked: is offering them the Way to receive

a garment of salvation and robe of righteousness.

Sick and you looked after Me; is offering healing by the power of His Spirit of Holiness.

In prison and you visited Me; is literally deliverance, setting captives free from spiritual bondage.

All quoted from Isaiah 61, which He read in the synagogue about Himself. He was fulfilling prophecy.

He unrolls the scroll of the prophet Isaiah, and He reads this passage from

Isaiah 61

And he began to say unto them, This day is this Scripture fulfilled in your ears Luke 4: 21

With that said, Joel saw the future thousands of years ago and it is now meat in due season.

Joel 2:28 And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

29 And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.

30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.

31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

32 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

50 days after Yeshua/Jesus’ resurrection

it came to pass

the outpouring of former and latter rain.

They knew it and declared it.

Acts 2:14 – 21

verse 16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words:

15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day.

16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:

20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Before that day/ moment they were afraid and secluded away, waiting on a promise of His return/coming to them.

He did not disappoint.

The father’s spirit of holiness/Ruach HaKodesh, the same that came and rested upon Yeshua/Jesus at His baptism/immersion; came in fullness to those in that upper room. The same place they had celebrated pesach/passover 50 days before. One wonders if the water jar bearer was in the room with them?

We are familiar with the story but let’s look at some Hebrew. Remembering they were all Jewish/Hebrew.

Yeshua/ Jesus did come to them and by leaving His and the Father’s Spirit of Holiness with them, their lives changed once again.

This time with a very obvious difference.

The nervous Peter caught in denial of his rabbi Messiah, became a whole new man.

What we need to remember is this is still ongoing and it has never stopped. Whosoever will choose Him can also receive His Spirit of Holiness in fullness.

This is not to focus on any one particular doctrine or dogma; it is simply His Word with some added questions and possible answers that the writer has had over the last four decades. If we love Him we truly want to know Him more and that can be aided by seeing and discovering

the treasures in His Word, both old and new.

What Joel prophesied and what the Apostles and Disciples experienced did not end there…it has continued since and will do so until Messiah returns. We are therefore part of ActIONs of the Apostles & Disciples and as such should become familiar with the equipping of His ecclesia. (All of us).

APOSTLE (Gr. “messenger”), in early Christian usage, term applied to the disciples of Yeshua/Jesus whom He had sent out to preach His message, and occasionally also applied to other missionaries of the early period. Outside the New Testament the noun ἁπόστολος was not common in Greek, though the verb ἁποστέλλω was.

There is a attitude and a principle that we must live by in these days

and that is,

Our Heavenly Father must be at the center of all we do and we must be filled with His anointing.

What is that?

It is the manifested presence of Our Father God /YeHoVeH and His power flowing through us, to help us do what He has called us to do for His kingdom.

If we all not working for His kingdom, why do we need His anointing?

Truth is we don’t….

if we are not following Him,

doing what He did, being like Him.

Little christs – aka christians – little anointed ones.

There is a anointing described in acts of the apostles. It should really be titled the ActIONS of the Apostles/Disciples because they were DOING – ACTing, and it included the disciples/followers also.

How did Peter became a whole new man?

Like all those there on that day, the book of acts describes the attributes of His Spirit that they were imbued with from on high. They are

 grace,

power,

boldness,

and because of their

obedience,

it bought

glory

to the Father.

If you are called you are also sent and equipped because the One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.

May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen” (Hebrews 13:20-21).

glory

כָּבוֹד.

kavod.

We are qualified physically by all life’s experiences and spiritually by His equipping of us through His anointing and the operation of His Spirit of Holiness/ Ruach HA kodesh; by way of the gifts, working of miracles etc.

HEBREW: working of miracles עבודה של ניסים

The Hebrew word for miracles is “Nes.”

The B’nai Yisaschar defines a “nes” as an action, from God, that is supernatural. The word “nes” also means the sail of a boat.

Strong’s Hebrew: 4159. מוֹפֵת (mopheth) — a wonder, sign …

1 Cor. 12:10. The Spirit gives one person the power to work miracles; to another, the gift of speaking God’s message; and to yet another, the ability to tell the difference between gifts that come from the Spirit and those that do not. To one person he gives the ability to speak in strange tongues, and to another he gives the ability to explain what is said.

These last days will require us to also receive what the first apostles were given.

As they were OBEDIENT, BOLDNESS was given to them to go into the dark places and take His light.

He promises to be with us IF we will go.

There is that condition word again, IF.

Be encouraged to read through acts of the apostles chapters 1 through 7 and highlight the word boldness.

This Boldness is clearly documented in the actions of the newly anointed, set apart ones /the newly Holy Spirit filled ecclesia.

HEBREW: Called apart ones נקראים בנפרד

Inherent power, power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature, or which a person or thing exerts and puts forth.

moral power and excellence of soul.

the power and influence which belong to riches and wealth.

power and resources arising from numbers.

Boldness is a strong manifestation of His spirit of holiness.

Boldness

 עֹז ʻôz, oze

It comes by way of His Grace and brings glory to the Father produced by our obedience.

They, the believers received the same spirit of Holiness that we can receive and all our Father wants us to do, is to move on forward in the same spirit; and He calls us to a deeper level by entering into the fullness of that which God has for us.

When we do receive power from Him, the same word power here, is the same word used for

resurrection power

– a quickening , זרז

לְזַרֵז

to quicken

to produce alive, begat or bear living young. 2) to cause to live, make alive, give life. 2a) by spiritual power to arouse and invigorate. 2b) to restore to life. 2c) to give increase of life: thus of physical life. 2d) of the spirit, quickening as respects the spirit, endued with new and greater powers of life.

quicken. verb לְזַרֵז. expedite, hasten, urge, precipitate, hurry.

verb לְהַאִיץ. accelerate, speed up, hurry, urge, press.

Strongs’s #2227: zoopoieo – Greek

Strong’s Hebrew: 2421.

חָיָה (chayah) — live

ă·ḥay·yeh

a making alive moving from death to life.

HEBREW: כוח תחיית המתים

This Aramaic word translates into Hebrew as

תקומה ( tequmah, Strong’s #8617).

In Modern Hebrew, the word for “resurrection” is

תקומה  tequmah

the same word from the Peshitta.

In the Peshitta, a 5th Century Aramaic New Testament, the word used for “resurrection” in the verse above is the word קימתא (q’yam’ta).

This word is derived from the verbal root קום

(Strong’s #6965) meaning “to stand up” or “to rise up.”

The word תקומה (tequmah) is found once in the Hebrew Bible.

But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying, (ASV, Matthew 22:31)

While the word “resurrection” does not appear in English translations of the Tanakh (Old Testament), it does appear in the New Testament as a translation for the Greek word αναστασις (anastasis, Strong’s #386).

This noun is derived from the word ανιστημι

(anistemi, Strong’s #450),

which means “to stand up” or “to rise up.”

This Greek word appears once in the Septuagint, a 2,000 year old Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible.

And behold I establish [in the sense of something standing firm] my covenant with you, and with your seed after you, (LXE, Genesis 9:9)

And they shall stumble one upon another, as it were before the sword, when none pursueth: and ye shall have no power to stand before your enemies. (ASV, Leviticus 26:37)

From all of this,

we can gather that the ancient understanding of the

resurrection of the dead,

is the

rising up of the dead,

or more literally, the

standing up

of the dead.

By the raising of Yeshua /Jesus from the dead we too are changed from death to life.

The resurrection assures us that the devil, sin, and death can have no real power over us, since they have no power over the Messiah, who bore them for us but triumphed.

For the follower of Jesus/Yeshua,

ein od milvado ( אֵין עוֹד מִלְבַדּוֹ ),

there is no real power apart from God.

This NEW life (chaim – one of two);

is the gift of God to us by His Grace…

So no one gets indigestion the conclusion is in part 2!

May His true Shalom/Peace

rest upon each one in Jesus/Yeshuas’ Name.

Have You Been To The Beit Yatsar? Part 2

Concluding the Hebrew meanings behind the different vessels made in the Potters House.

https://www.minimannamoments.com/have-you-been-to-the-beit-yatsar/

The

כלי של קלון

Vessel of Dishonor

קלון Galon

Strong’s Hebrew: 7036. קָלוֹן (qalon) —

ignominy, dishonor

remains at the house where

all the waste water

from the home

is emptied into it.

It receives a lot but gives out very little.

In Jeremiah 48:38

I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure.-

It is also the vessel called

empty of pleasure.

חֵ֥פֶץ – ḥê·p̄eṣ

Jeremiah 22:28
HEB: כְּלִ֔י אֵ֥ין חֵ֖פֶץ בּ֑וֹ מַדּ֤וּעַ
KJV: [is he] a vessel wherein [is] no pleasure?wherefore are they cast out,
Jeremiah 48:38
HEB: כִּכְלִ֛י אֵֽין־ חֵ֥פֶץ בּ֖וֹ נְאֻם־
KJV: like a vessel wherein [is] no pleasure, saith

This is the vessel beside the

כלי של כבוד

כלי keli: an article, utensil, vessel

כבוד – kabed:  honor

vessel of honor

on the bench.

This vessel by receiving the left over stale water is

forever receiving water, but

never gives out any clean refreshing water.

After some time the inside becomes slimy and the bad smelling water

has no pleasure

in it either for the potter or to the owner.

Finally, it is placed in the backyard as a

container for waste things and then it is called

כלי מתועב

an abominable vessel.

תּוֹעֵבַה – toebah: abomination, to-ay-baw’

Vessel of Mercy

כלי keli: an article, utensil, vessel

רחמים  Ra-chem/ra-cha-min – Mercy/Womb

That he might make known – What if by showing such long-suffering even to the vessels of wrath, he did the more abundantly show the greatness of his glorious goodness, wisdom, and power, on the vessels of mercy; on those whom he had himself, by his grace, prepared for glory.

Romans 9:23

Here is a Vessel of Mercy

There all some religions that require people to wash their hands before they pray, especially in the middle east as travelers go through villages they need to water supplied to them.

The villagers provide small vessels of water

for the traveler to use, they are called

Vessels of Mercy

because they are there to help others.

A Clean Vessel

כלי נקי

כלי  keli: an article, utensil, vessel

טָה֖וֹר  ṭā·hō·wr  clean

And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering unto the Lord out of all nations upon horses, and in chariots, and in litters, and upon mules, and upon swift beasts, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, saith the Lord, as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord.

Isaiah 66:20

This vessel was once a

vessel of honor

on the bench behind the door, giving out life-giving water to thirsty travelers.

It has been touched and handled by many unclean hands.

Although its outward looks have been marred it’s nature and function has not changed; so the

Clean Vessel

כלי נקי

is taken to the potter again to be filed and scraped.

Also Numbers 5:17

bi·lî  בִּכְלִ֤י vessel pot

HEB: מַ֥יִם קְדֹשִׁ֖ים בִּכְלִי־ חָ֑רֶשׂ וּמִן־

KJV: in an earthen vessel;

Strong’s Hebrew: 2931.

טָמֵא (tame) taw-may

unclean

He will remove all uncleanness which has been left by contact with dirty hands then he will place it in the furnace/kiln again and burn it with fire once more then it comes out clean on the inside and on the outside; a clean vessel once more.

A Chosen Vessel

כלי נבחר

כלי  keli: an article, utensil, vessel

בָּחִיר. bachir. chosen – baw-kheer’

Strong’s Hebrew: 972.

Ephesians 1:4. According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Once again by talking to the potter the meaning of this can be found out.

Being a visitor to the potters house, we tell him that we’re going back home and want to take a vessel as a gift for family/friends and would appreciate him choosing one for us.

The Potter will hand you

his chosen vessel

and as he does he’ll no doubt say something like this: that he’s not ashamed of this vessel because he has chosen it and even though it may not look the same as the other vessels or seem as attractive, it will stand the test because it is a

chosen vessel.

Holy Vessel

כלי קדוש

כלי  keli: an article, utensil, vessel

קָדוֹשׁ.  qadosh kaw-doshe’ holy, sacred

Strong’s Hebrew: 6918.

Depart, depart, go out from there! Touch no unclean thing; come out from it, purify yourselves, you who carry the vessels of the LORD. Depart, depart, go out from there! Touch no unclean thing! Come out from it and be pure, you who carry the articles of the LORD’s house.

Isaiah 52:11

A

Holy Vessel

is a very

sacred and set apart vessel,

no one can handle it

but those who are

clean and fit

to enter the house/presence of the Lord.

The hill of the Lord was the place of His presence.

Ps.24:3-5

Clay in the potters hands to be made into vessels:

of honor, dishonor,

wrath, mercy;

broken, clean,

chosen, or Holy

Which is it to be?

The choice remains and we have a big part to play in our own future.

2 Timothy 2:21
If a man therefore

purge himself from these

he shall be

a vessel unto honor,

sanctified,

and meet for the master’s use,

and prepared unto every good work.

Our Heavenly Father has given us

the necessary resources needed to be

a clean and holy vessel,

fit for His use.

A

Vessel of Wrath

כלי זעם

כלי  keli: an article, utensil, vessel

זעם – kets-af – qetsaph – Wrath

Strong’s Hebrew: 7109.

What if by showing such long-suffering even to

the vessels of wrath,

he did the more abundantly show the greatness of his glorious goodness, wisdom, and power, on the vessels of mercy; on those whom he had himself, by his grace, prepared for glory.

Romans 9:22

Another thing we will find at the Potters House, is a pile of vessels put to one side these are called

Vessels of Wrath,

and are useless to the potter.

They appeared to be perfectly alright until they were put into the furnace/kiln; however, they came out cracked because they could not stand the fire.

The potter was surely saddened when one of his precious vessels became broken

but the Potter did not give up on them

because in the real-life pottery days of Israel, the potter had a remedy for broken/cracked vessels.

He would take special time to sit at his bench and work with patience to repair it.

After he had finished his work for the day, he would go out through the fields and and hunt for a tick-like insect,

called a fasuka,

פאסוקה

This insect clung to the back of sheep, oxen, bulls and goats and lived on their blood.  Having found some, he would take them home to his shop where he would keep them in small clay jars or leather bags.

He crushed the fasuka between his finger and thumb to mix the blood with clay to form an effective mortar of glue.  He worked the glue substance into the cracked area.

This sealed the break.

Then it was placed right back into the fire that had cracked it to begin with.  We as believers, understand the

holding power of the blood.

If it is cracked again, the process was repeated as often as necessary.

Only after it came out un-cracked, could it be released for service.

The potter takes the blood of the fasuka and mixes it with some powdered broken pottery and cements the cracks of his Vessels of wrath.

When it goes through the furnace again it may come out okay or it may not and be broken again.

The potter patiently cements it again and again hoping it will come out all right. If it does not after many attempts he may finally have no alternative but to lay it aside and pronounce it as a

Vessel of wrath,

being of no value and therefore worthless and he casts it away. Piles of broken vessels were frequently found on the floor of ancient potters’ shops.

Here it is worth mentioning the reference of sheep, oxen, bulls and goats and lived on their blood; being somewhat significant in regards to the sacrificial system for the covering of sin. That is until Messiah became all of the sacrifices, by the giving of His Blood once and for all time.

Drink from it, all of you; for this is My blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for forgiveness of sins.

Matthew 26:26-29

The fasukas lived on the blood of the sacrificial animals we are to live by the Blood of the Lamb of God. Then they were used to give their blood to fix/heal and seal the cracked and broken vessels. We are sealed by His Blood, redeemed and totally healed.

Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 6:54

Some of the Vessels are in

Romans 9:22

19 Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?

20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?

21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much long-suffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:

23 And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,

Obviously these are pictures of various individuals and they are examples for us; much like the parables of Jesus/Yeshua.

Here another interesting mention of a

vessel or pitcher of water.

In Mark 14:13  And he sendeth forth two of his disciples, and saith unto them, Go ye into the city, and there shall meet you a man bearing a pitcher of water: follow him.

also

Luke 22:10  And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.

and

Mattthew 26: 20  And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.

Above are the references with directions to the disciples concerning the man they were to meet in Jerusalem.

In Luke and Mark, the identity of the man is very specific; each tells us that the disciples must find the man “carrying a jar of water.” In all three gospels, this man is recognized, – unnamed, and never mentioned again – though it appears as such for no particular reason. So why is this man significant enough that Matthew, Mark, and Luke all mention this no-named, ordinary man?

These instructions were connected to the upper room where they were to prepare the seder meal for Pesach/Passover.

Recall the

vessel of honor, 2Tim2:20,21;

is a vessel that gives out pure water to quench the thirst of the stranger and traveller. It is placed on the shoulder/head and the person goes to the fountain to get water. The mission of the vessel of honor is that of giving free water, the gift of God to passers by, fulfilling the expectation of the Master Potter.

This does not seem like a very good description to help them identify the Lords host for Pesach. Notice the man was to meet them, suggesting it must have been a prearranged connection and if he was carrying a vessel of honor, was this confirming the individual was a worthy person to provide accommodation to Messiah for such an important event?

A vessel of honor,

as was the pitcher he carried, ready to freely give the gift of God, fulfilling the expectation of the Master Potter and the One from Whom flowed the pure water of life/chaim?

It is important to remember in Yeshua/Jesus’ day and culture that a man usually never, or at least rarely, carried water in a pitcher!

So we understand more clearly that he would have stood out in a crowd and been an unusual sight for the disciples to look for.

It was the women who carried all the water supply for the house, and was never a mans work; though he may carry a water skin through the streets, selling water, but never in an earthen vessel or pitcher for home use!

It’s an interesting question to ponder:

Was the man carrying the water jar, a vessel of honor?

One scholar has suggested that the man must have lived in an “Essene Quarter” of Jerusalem as the Essene religious group separated themselves from women and would have had to carry their own water.

Because men in the First Century Mid-Eastern culture did NOT carry water jars, being that it was a woman’s duty; it was an extremely feminine act. Yet this humble man, who probably drew much scorn from his neighbors, led the disciples to the Upper Room.

The Greek word used here, however, implies simply a person and not necessarily a male??

In Israel they understood pottery and the potter’s wheel.

When a vessel became broken, it was a result of clay that wouldn’t take the heat. The fire produced a crack, usually around the lip of the vessel.  It was in need of repair. When the broken vessel came out of the fire cracked at the lip, the potter had the fasuka remedy to salvage it.

After firing, if the scarred vessel comes forth un-cracked, it is again ready for service.

Our healing involves re-firing.

Maybe it is not too far a stretch to see that the power of the blood to fix broken pottery also alludes to the power of the blood of The Lamb, our Lord and Savior, Messiah Yeshua/Jesus is the glue for cracked, broken people?

His alone is The Blood that Mends because

it’s stronger than that of bulls and goats.

Messiah said that He was sent to heal the brokenhearted.

He came to seek the lost & bring victory to failures.

He is the Master Potter applying His Blood to broken vessels.

When we crack:

Apply the blood:

Are we vessels fit for the Masters use?

If not

Apply the blood.

During this process, the Potter would sometimes put more wet clay on it, reheat it, re-fire it, and if it held the patch, it was called a
vessel of mercy.

A vessel of mercy

as we have already seen,

was used to carry fresh water

that was freely shared with stranger.

If we honestly repent, He is faithful to forgive our sins and cleanse us.

This is the remedy of the potter for broken vessels.

This blood will hold.

Come to Him and let Him do His work.

He forgives all that repent.

His blood cleanses us from all unrighteousness. I Jn.1.9

The blood of Christ brings victory in the midst of trial, and that “…we may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done so, stand.” Eph. 6.13

The late Dr Sam Sasser in his book The Potter’s Touch, succinctly brought out the amazing power of the blood of Messiah.  He went on to say:

“The cross of Calvary provides a glue that works effectively and uniquely in the lives of broken people. How thankful we should be for Christ’s blood, shed at Calvary for our salvation. Stronger than the blood of bulls and goats (Heb 9:12), the blood of the Lamb is God’s provision for cracked, flawed men and women.  Jesus Christ shed His precious blood to bring wholeness to all who have been broken and cracked in life’s fire.”

Now, let’s look at middle eastern pottery because you will not see any machinery or special buildings, simply a plain shed.

There is a wheel and

beside it a pile of clay

and a dish of water.

When watching a professional potter, it is amazing to see how quickly this process takes place until we remember that this clay is in the hands of a master craftsman.

The Potter takes a lump of clay in his hand puts it upon the revolving wheel and smooths it into a low cone.

Then he

thrust his thumb

into the top of the cone and opens a hole

down through the center.

The Potter takes his fingers and forces them down into the center of the vessel.

For visual reference, here is a short video of a potter doing exactly what is described above and below making a terracotta earthenware pot on a wheel.

Terra cotta, Terracotta or Terra-cotta

(Italian: “baked earth”, from the Latin terracocta)

is a clay-based unglazed ceramic.

Its uses include vessels, water.

The inside of the vessel is called, appropriately,

the Heart.

Lev – לב

and

Strongs # 3825 lebab – לְבַב

If the potter doesn’t work on the heart,

then the vessel cannot contain anything!

The vessel will only look good on the outside,

but will have no usefulness.
The bigger it is

ON THE INSIDE,

the more it can contain and

the more it can pour out.

The potter at this stage has

one hand inside the vessel,

and one hand on the outside.

The same careful, loving way our Father shapes us.

To enlarge the capacity of the vessel,

the Potter

MUST WORK DEEPLY.

Our hearts are a repository for everything that will come out of us, and thus must be changed, having the Law of God written on them.

After the potter has shaped and molded the vessel

both inwardly and outwardly,

he must finish with the topmost part, which is called

the mouth.

The mouth is vital –

it is the final part that

anything

inside the vessel

touches

when it is poured out.
Luke 6:45 The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart.

Here he continually widens it by pressing the edges the revolving cone between his hands. He gives it whatever shape he chooses with the utmost care and speed.

When Jeremiah was watching the potter,

the vessel was marred in his hand and so he made it again into another vessel, as it seemed good to the potter to make.

He saw this happen many times because of some defect in the clay.

So the potter changed his mind crushing the jar into shapeless mass and he started all over again forming it into a completely different vessel.

The work of Messiahs cross, is our fasuka;

it provides a glue to work into the lives of broken people.

He forgives all who repent.

The power of the blood to fix broken pottery also alludes to the power of the Savior’s blood to fix broken hearts. Recall the Potter has his thumb pressed into the ‘heart’ of the clay.

Have you been to the potters house?

How do we get ready?

We have sung the songs…

You are the Potter and and I am the clay,

mold me and make me this is what I pray…

Do we really mean it?

Or is it just a great teaching that we have just

filed away in our notes and never applied

or experienced personally?

Because it is total surrender

and if we have not done so then it is time to.

Yeshua/Jesus said

Will He find faith/ faithfulness when He comes?

Have we allowed to the repair,

the healing,

the restoration,

the reworking,

the re-firing,

the re-glazing,

the new purpose to be established in us?

Isaiah 64:8 But now, O LORD, thou [art] our father; we [are] the clay, and thou our potter; and we all [are] the work of thy hand.

God gives us time… but time is running out.

We are only promised today.

So run to the potters house

like Jeremiah did,

so we can hear what He has to say to us;

and let the Master creator of the pot, made from the same clay/dirt from which we are all created; let Him throw us on His wheel and let His hands rework our frame.

Let Him place us in the heat of trial and adversity

to test our constitution,

to see the caliber of our trust,

our faith in the creator.

If we truly have given our life to Him, it no longer belongs to us…

so why are we still trying to direct our own path and control our own destiny?

Our life is no longer our own, so let’s allow the potter to use these pots/ vessels He has created for His purpose and trust Him that He knows what He’s doing.

The moment we forget that He is Almighty, the times we bring our thoughts of Him down to our level of thinking and of our decided gauge, is the moment that we weaken and diminish His ministry and work in us and through us.

We have our attributes and experiences but there is often no complete surrender to Him and therefore we struggle to try and handle difficult circumstances for ourselves, our incompleteness is ONLY remedied by looking unto Jesus/Yeshua, the author and finisher of our faith.

His power and provision are limitless.

We measure answers to problems and resolutions to situations by our human understanding/ knowledge. When will we realize and truly understand that His ways are not ours and when we just trust His way of doing things and get out of His way and simply wait in patient obedience and faith?

Heavenly Father help our unbelief and let us cease from striving in the wrong manner.

When we find it hard, remember

ALL things are possible to them that believe

because with God all things are possible.

And when we don’t understand what’s happening is the time we need to trust Him more.

The humbling and testing is not for punishment and discipline although, without them we would surely persist in our old ways; it is designed for us to know what is in our hearts. Through the testing we see how our hearts are responding to Him..

Are we resisting His will or learning our lessons?

Humbling leads us to a point of decision.

Whether we will keep His commands or not.  Our ability to yield and submit to the ways of the Lord is determined by how we allow Him to lead us in the wilderness; Bemidbar (the times when we don’t know where we are going; But He does!)

If we are rigid, stubborn, prideful or fearful, the times of testing will lead us into greater chastisement and discipline but when we are pliable in the Master Potters hands, the Lords’ humbling ways will lead us only into maturity and times of fruitfulness.

Jeremiah 18:4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make [it].

When the potter takes up the clay, he has, in his mind, an ideal form towards which he works with the clay. But, if his work fails, he tries again. And if he fails again, he tries some other form of vessel, such as the quality of the clay will bear.

A vessel of honor fulfills the expectation of the master potter.

We are clay pottery jars…

“But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us.” (2 Corinthians 4:7)

2 Corinthians 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. Treasure in Jars of Clay. 2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

The word skenos, vessel, is used in Mark 11:16, and

vessels of earthenware in Revelation 2:27.

The treasure in our earthen vessel is the Messiah who dwells in us; we are containers of honor and glory, for Messiah is the God of honor and the God of glory.

When others see us, however, they may not see the treasure yet, for we are not yet glorified; however, when the Messiah returns, others will be able to see that we,

as vessels unto honor,

are ….

containers of

His glorious treasure!

For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. 2Cor.4:6

Treasure in Jars of Clay.

As we prepare there is a promise of treasures:

Light  Darkness  Heart  Glory

Glory of His ministry in the midst of the weakness and suffering these are the

treasures of the darkness

Earthen vessels or jar of clay;

The glorious light which we have to show to the world is, like Gideon’s torches, carried in earthen pitchers.

Light represents understanding,

Darkness represents ignorance,

Heart is used interchangeably with our spirit, the heart here is talking of our spirit,

Glory is talking about the yet unrevealed potentials of God in and through us,

Earthen vessels or jar of clay represents our mortal bodies.

and three glory gifts for the Earthen vessel or jar of clay;

are

Love, Joy and Peace

Ahava /agape – simcha – shalom

and cHesed is love, mercy, favor and grace.

Days are approaching.

Let us not neglect meeting together, as some have made a habit, but let us encourage one another, and all the more

as you see the Day approaching.

Hebrews 10:25

Days are coming when the turmoil and chaos will be great and the place of peace: complete shalom,

will need to be within our hearts.

It will not be found in our external surroundings.

So of the three glory gifts, joy has a deep meaning.

Because this is how to get strength,

the joy of the Lord is our strength and

in your presence there is fullness of joy

that is where we belong.

Hearing his voice from the cleft of the rock.

Our weakness provides the perfect place for His strength.

My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:7-10.

His spirit within us can handle any circumstance – this is the basis for our confidence and quietness spending time alone with Him.

In confidence, confident trust relying on His sufficiency;

that is our strength, that is where it comes from

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Cor. 12:9

His joy is at the root of our faith. We are strengthened in the inner man by His Spirit of Holiness knowing we are set apart/the ecclesia.

His blood makes us blameless before Him because we are saved by the blood of His redemptive, sacrificial death and the subsequent resurrection.

We are no longer dead in our sins but alive spiritually to the Father and his everlasting life/chaim.

In chapter 18:15. Jeremiah stumbled from

the ancient paths

to walk in paths in a way not cast up,

we too are to return/teshuvah repent.

It is no coincidence that the same message

is in every part of the word of God

That of repentance.

It is a core requirement of the salvation message.

Let part of our JOY be in the knowledge that

we have been to the Master Potters House

and we are truly formed in His image by His Hand

May His true Shalom/Peace

rest upon each one in Jesus/Yeshuas’ Name.

you are greatly loved and prayed for daily..

NOT SURE if you are part of His Family?

YOU CAN BE..

Say the following and mean it from your heart…

Heavenly Father I come to you in the Name of Jesus/Yeshua asking for forgiveness of my sins for which I am truly sorry. I repent of them all and turn away from my past.

I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus/Yeshua is your Son and that He came in the flesh and He died on the cross at calvary to pay the price for my sin, so that I might be forgiven and have eternal life in the kingdom of Heaven. Father I believe that Jesus/Yeshua rose from the dead and I ask you to come into my life right now and be my personal Savior and Lord and I will worship you all the days of my life.

Because your word is truth, I say that I am now forgiven and born again in my spirit and by faith I am washed clean with the Blood of Jesus/Yeshua. Thank you that you have accepted me into your family in Jesus’/Yeshua’s name. Amen.
