WEEKLY READINGS TO TAKE US THROUGH THE BIBLE IN A YEAR
JESUS Is The Living Word..We are to desire the pure milk of the Word of God According to 1 Peter 2:1-2, always hungry, like newborn babies. What we may not realize is anytime the Word of God or scriptures were mentioned in the New Testament it is referring to the only scriptures they had at the time; that was the Old Testament (also called the Tanakh). (Made up of 39 books)It is divided up into sections of:
Torah/Instruction: Law, History,
The Writings: Wisdom, Poetry and Praise
and The Prophets
(The Line of division in the chart is based on the Babylonian Exile)
They did not have the New Testament (27 Books) it was not written until after Jesus died.Our Bible today contains 66 Books.
The scriptures were written on large scrolls not in book form so it was prohibitive for individuals to each have their own copy and from childhood they were brought up learning the text and committing the Scriptures (Old Testament), to memory “and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:15-17)
In order for us to be thoroughly equipped for every good work, we also need to establish a solid foundation in the Word.
The following Bible reading references are called Torah portions or Parashah and consist of a suggested weekly reading cycle to help us do just that. The readings cover the entire Torah or Instructions/Directions contained in the first 5 books of the Bible over the course of one calendar year.Additional readings from the Prophets and Writings (34 Books) (Collectively Called Haftarah) and the rest of the Brit Chadashah/New Testament (27 Books) which have a common theme with the Torah Portion/Parashah and link all the different sections together, are also included for each week.
No one calendar has every relevant piece of information and some have rather small text within the charts. To aid in following the Hebrew Calendar weeks as they relate to our own Calendar there are several options included below:

EACH DAY STARTS AT SUNDOWN THE DAY BEFORE AND ENDS AT SUNDOWN ON THE GREGORIAN DAY ON WHICH IT IS NOTED: BELOW EACH CHART IS A CLEAR LIST OF EACH SCRIPTURE FOR EACH WEEKS PORTION. AS THE 2 CALENDARS VARY THE DATES FOR US CHANGE EACH YEAR HOWEVER THE WEEK NUMBER AND THE CORRESPONDING PORTION IS ALWAYS THE SAME ON THE HEBREW CALENDAR.
