Revelation/Galah/גֶּלֶה

Apocalypse (Greek).

Ephesians 2:7… in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his Grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.

Greek: ἐν τοῖς αἰῶσι τοῖς ἐπερχομένοις, in the ages to come:

Properly, the ages which are coming on – the ages both of time and of eternity, looked upon in one great continuity.

Here, again, the manifestation of the riches of God’s Grace is looked upon as His special delight, and as His chosen way of manifesting His own self to His creatures. It also carries the meaning that in the ages to come this is the end of God’s permitting sin, in which men are morally dead; and of his suffering them to go on in sin, in a state of unregeneracy; and of his quickening them with Christ, and raising them up, and causing them to sit together with him:

Are we going back – yet at the same time, returning to somewhere in our future? Is there a connection between the place of our genesis and

‘Ha Makem’- ‘The Place’- המקום

the place of our future destination of

Remembering the cyclical nature of Hebraic thought and how God’s plan and annual events are cyclical, not linear, in this post we will be taking the ‘scenic route’,

with a paleo pictograph/pictogram tour of 2 gardens!

Is Eden equal to Rest –

equal to a place of Grace –

equal to a place of Shalom?

So get some coffee, (or equivalent) and get comfortable!…

If this is your first time on mmm this post will not make as much sense as it will to those who have been following for some time…Ruach HaKodesh is leading us on a journey step by step – line upon line and is adding to the clarity of His precepts by opening up His Word as deep calls unto deep. Reading previous posts will help each reader to both follow and to absorb the information more easily.
The content of these posts are not refuting or replacing anything we already know, rather enhancing our understanding of what has always been there; things we did not see before because they were hidden until Father chose to reveal them to us. These are the days of the Revealing. They are not designed for fascination but for education to enhance and improve the quality of our personal relationship with Jesus our Messiah/Yeshua HaMashiach.
No one knows it all or always gets it right – so every reader is encouraged to research and check out the things covered to get answers for themselves.

It is obvious from reading the scriptures that we were not created to live in the daily conflicts of strife and struggles of this world and its systems. Our Heavenly Father created us to live in His presence, to be, to exist, to abide, to grow, to rest, in a garden called Eden.

Gan Eden עֵדֶן

is:

The proper name, of a territory.

The garden home of Adam and Eve.

עֵדֶן  –  ay’-den

Ayin – Dalet – Noon/Nun

Paleo-pictograph-pictogram:

eye

door

seed/life

Paleo meaning:

To see the judge of life.

Ayin – eye – עֵ – sees

Noon – seed/life – ן

Dalet – door /judge

den/dan – ןדֶ

The Hebrew word for Judge is dan ןדֶ or seed and door.

The word picture tells us that:

a judge is the door to life.

(The judge offers justice and redemption).

Genesis 30:6..

then Rachel said God has vindicated, (judged) me and has indeed heard my voice and has given me a son.

Therefore she named him

Danjudge/or eternal life

Dalet – door – eternal,

 Noon – life.

Eden: (strongs #5729) literally means: delight, enjoyment, garden of eden, paradise. Semitic root: dn ‘lush’

To see (acknowledge) the judge.

The Garden of Eden was a place of delight and enjoyment….. as long as they recognized and followed God as their judge.

(There are always conditions with the promises and blessings of God.)

(Door eye) Eternal perpetual (seed) life

The Garden of Eden was meant to be a place of continual life.

Chaim

Adam and Eve had to leave so they would not eat of the tree of life and live forever in a fallen state,

that is fallen from a state/place of grace.

Recap. of what grace is in pictographs:

Some claim that the name “Eden” derives from the Akkadian term edinu, which means ‘plain’; and if viewed on a map is clearly a possibility.

Strong’s Hebrew: 5731. עֵ֫דֶן (Eden) — the garden home of Adam and Eve.

עֵ֫דֶן

It was also the Garden of God according to

Ezek 28:13; You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The ruby, the topaz, and the diamond; The beryl, the onyx, and the jasper; The lapis lazuli, the turquoise, and the emerald; And the gold, the workmanship of your settings and sockets, was in you.

There are also deeper Hebrew meanings of the ‘Garden of Eden’.

The Hebrew word for ‘delicate’ is ‘Me’udan’ {מעודן} – which comes from the same root and the initial Latin meaning of ‘delicate’ (‘delicatus’ in Latin) is ‘something that gives pleasure’ (compare with ‘delicious’ – food that is so tasty it gives one pleasure).

Eden N E H (pleasure).

The first residence of man, called in the Septuagint Paradise, which is a word of Persian origin, and describes an extensive tract of pleasure land, similar to an English park; and the use of it suggests a wider view of man’s first abode than it being just a small garden!

The Garden was planted by God and then He put the already formed man into the garden.

The Lord God created the Garden specifically for Adam, the first man, whom God had formed.

In Genesis 2:8-9, we read: The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food.

The Letters – Otiot

Ayin, Dalet and Noon

Ayin – eye to see to know to experience to understand

Dalet – door that opens up to a pathway

Nun – seed fish life and activity

Eden is a place where you…

open the door and enter the pathway that leads to life!!!!

When man chose sin, (the pathway to confusion chaos and death – RA);

the doorway in Eden that led to glorified eternal life was removed from the earth.

(THE TREE OF LIFE – JESUS/YESHUA).

They had been tested (just as we all are) and found unworthy to enter into eternal life because of sin.

Did the promise of a glorified body leave his mind when he looked at the tree of knowledge of good and evil? What was he thinking?

God has given us another opportunity with another tree… but this was not pleasant to the eye..

(Isaiah 53:2 and when we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.)

nor desirable for food yet …. and He told us to eat of Him… this tree was dead and cut into a cross, instead of sweet fruit, there was only the stench of sin and death..

Eve looked up to leaves and desirable fruit.

Yeshua/Jesus looks down, from a lifeless dead tree, onto lost sinners and desires them.

He took upon Himself Adam’s sin and the sins of all the offspring until this day and going forward. 1 Cor. 1:18.

In a WAY, He is Eden/Eden’s door/Dalet, the door to eternal life/Nun(or Noon).

In Eden, the tree of life grew in the midst of the garden, however in the new Eden/new Jerusalem, (which comes down from heaven), the tree of life grows on either side of the river.

According to Revelation, it seems to have multiplied and expanded, implying that everyone will have access to it; all will be welcome to eat their fill.

The Garden of Eden

(Hebrew: גַּן־עֵדֶן – gan-ʿḖḏen),

also called Paradise, is the biblical garden of God described in Genesis and Ezekiel. Gen.13:10 refers to the garden of God, and the trees of the garden are mentioned in Ezekiel 31.

We are to understand the Grace of God in truth. Col. 1:16

We are joint heirs of the Grace. 1Peter 3:7; 4:10,16.

For the law was given through Moses, but Grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1:17)

But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ by grace you have been saved. Eph. 2:4-5

and the end from the beginning.

Rev. 22:21

The first garden was an enclosed place surrounded and protected but from what?

From everything outside (chet)

it’s perimeter fence.

We know because outside was not so favorable to humans. Adam found that out when expelled from its location.

Outside was not preferable or even equal; it was hostile and God’s presence and provision was not there in abundance where he had never had to ask for anything.

Now he has needs, need of everything…

Eden was a place, of complete Shalom.

(Shin alef lamed mem)

Like a womb:

beten – bet, tet, noon (or nun).

The house that surrounds life!

This is the common word for belly but scripture also uses it for the womb.

(waters of life within it)

Womb – rechem/racham

(looked at in previous post as connected to mercy/compassion);

is:

reysh tet mem

and in the pictographs is reysh= head person; tet = fence, inner chamber; mem = water.

Waters of life (Mem) or chaos are also in the word for peace-shalom.

In the paleo it is

Sheen: teeth, destroy

Lamed: staff, authority

Vav: hook, nail, establish

Mem: water, chaos

This indicates that Shalom peace, only comes…

when the authority connected with chaos and confusion is destroyed!

Every time we say Shalom/peace, we are uttering a prophetic declaration that..

someone will come and destroy the one who is causing all the chaos and confusion…

and in reality that is the Sar Shalom the Prince of Peace.

He knew what He had come to do so when Yeshua/Jesus said:

Peace/Shalom I leave with you I you My

Peace/Shalom

I give to you not as the world gives, give I to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” John 14:27.

He was, (and still is) the authority who came to destroy the one connected with chaos and confusion!

The definition of Shalom cannot be translated into English by one word, but its’ essence is contained in the following phrases:

It means to set, to establish you in shalom. The law of our covenant with Him does not give it and leave it at that, but he sees to it that you are firmly established in shalom.

Shalom, the word normally translated peace, means wholeness, completeness, nothing missing, nothing left out, health, welfare, security, justice, and tranquility, also freedom from all disaster. Having a settled quietness and composure of mind, the fullness of the word for peace which is ‘Shalom’ which could also read ‘full, total and complete wholeness for the human spirit, soul, and body.’

A Hebrew scholar gave the best English translation of shalom: no good thing is withheld.

Shalom comes from shalem meaning to be complete, so when there is shalom there is tranquility just as there is sufficient food clothing and housing. There is divine health, with no sickness.

Shalom means an absence of: disorder, injustice, bribery, corruption, conflict, flat, hatred, abuse, violence, pain, suffering, immorality and all the other negative forces.

When shalom reigns with our Sar Shalom, in complete control, there will be no immorality, no injustice and the principles in the scriptures will be followed by all; and then the command to love your neighbor will be made complete.

The outside of eden was a place without Shalom, which eventually brought death to Adam and Eve.

It was the opposite of Shalom – it is called Ra (resh-ayin)/Rasha (evil, wicked).

While Ra is commonly translated evil or wicked, evil, literally meaning out of harmony with God, the real meaning in English is not expressed in the dictionary.

The meaning of the Hebrew word Rasha:

reysh (resh)

sheen (shin) ayin

= wicked, guilty

Head = person

teeth = devouring

eye = sees

meaning:person of the devouring eye

(gives a new perspective on  why we are to refrain from coveting and evil eye!)

and

Ra:Reysh Ayin – bad, evil.

Head = person

eye = sees

person of the eye:

a person who watches can be good or evil,

Ra is the total opposite of shalom, so it means that nothing makes sense or is right. Chaos or anarchy are often used in translation because they may best expressed the meaning of Ra. Anarchy or chaos reigned when the children of Israel strayed after false gods, when the seasons of the Lord and the appointed times were ignored.

When there is chaos in society the bullies take over, corruption and bribery are common, freedoms are restricted; immorality is the norm and there is no order and no justice in society.

The mild side of Ra could be described as the occasions in our lives when we feel that even though we can’t put our finger on it, there is just a feeling of things not being right.

The far end of Ra is when everything is wrong, as with an absolutely hopeless situation. In that case only a personal relationship with the living God can give us shalom/peace in our spirits.

It was a place where food and water were abundant, the environment was perfect, not too hot or too cold; you could say it was climate controlled. No striving was necessary. There were no enemies or threats or danger.

Eden – and – a place of rest..

also

a place of Grace/Chen

Shalom

 we enter in by

Grace

Chet Nun/Noon

Could a definition of Grace be EDEN? The original state of Grace from which we all are fallen?

The term falling from Grace is often used to describe what happened to Adam and Eve but it also includes everyone of us.

Eden/Grace was the calibre of the existence of true life as it was originally designed/ created to be.

Therefore the position is only re-attainable by Grace….which we know to be truth. Eph 2:8

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”

Amazing Grace – more amazing than we knew.

A literal state/place of being.

The Chen of God.

EDEN the place of grace/favor.

strongs # 2580

חֵן (chen) — favor, grace

We saw in a previous post that we enter in by or through Grace.

Do we literally enter into a spiritual environment of grace that surrounds us like a womb?

Jesus/Yeshua, tells us we enter in through the narrow gate/door.

This is entering into spiritual Eden.

We are in a way, going back

to also

get to the future,

back to Eden;

however it is the Eden of the future, yet the original Eden was not destroyed so maybe it still exists ….. We sometimes call it heaven? Eden was heaven on earth just has Jesus/Yeshua stated in the disciples prayer – on earth as it is in heaven, as above, so below…….

So the place,

‘Ha Makem’-המקום

where we fell from the state of grace, was an enclosure, a GAN, a garden, with protective walls made for a specific purpose.

Could it be said that the state of Grace therefore is Edenic in nature?

Because the state of Grace lacks nothing – therefore it would appear to be equal to shalom, (as we understand it by its definition). With nothing missing nothing broken, etc.

This is the place/state of being, of peace that passes understanding of the mind, that the world cannot know or experience or dwell in or have within; because as seen, everything outside of Eden is RA; which is resh ayin and is the complete opposite of shalom.

God planted a garden Genesis 2:8

GAN = enclosure..

Referring to the walls or fences that surround a grove of trees in ancient lands built to keep unwanted animals out.

The definitions of the letters in CHEN in Paleo Hebrew pictographs for an enclosure, a place of safety protection, includes the Paleo Hebrew picture of a fence and a seed.

Chet noon/nun

So have we by grace/chen entered spiritually into grace, the future eden? In Messiah we have returned to the pre-fall state, (back to Eden), so we might also call it the new Jerusalem or heaven.

Genesis 3:23. They were sent out of the garden because sin could not stay where the presence of God was manifested. So they had to leave. Eden was the garden of God then and it will be also in the future.

Grace had a meaning in that there was a boundary that encompassed it; this was true not only of Eden, but also the Israelites camp in the wilderness.

No sin could be within the camp where Gods’ presence was and which is why Messiah was was crucified outside the city walls/camp.

https://www.minimannamoments.com/the-mystery-of-solomons-chok/

The Garden of gethsemane was also outside the city camp/walls. (for more on Gethsemane link below.)

https://www.minimannamoments.com/sonset-sunrise-sunset-sonrise-apocalypse-of-the-tamid/

And the outside of the camp designation, did this mean there was no grace there?

There is so much more to this concept e.g. when we say glibly… But we are no longer under the law we are under Grace.

And also consider the statement made by Paul that God told him that His grace was sufficient for him….

To learn the definition of God’s grace, it is wise to understand the Greek and Hebrew words behind this term. A prominent Old Testament word describing God’s grace is chesed.

This word speaks of deliverance from enemies, affliction, or adversity. It also denotes enablement, daily guidance, forgiveness, and preservation; and in the Hebrew mindset it meant being able to be part of the community enclosure.

As we have seen the Hebrew word for grace is chen, חן

which derives from a shoresh(root), meaning favor, mercy, kindness, graciousness. In Exodus 34:6-7, one of the great attributes revealed about the LORD is that He is gracious (chanun), and in Psalm 86:15, David is no doubt reminded of this fact.

El Channuwm אֵֽל־ חַנּ֣וּן

 GRACIOUS GOD

2 Chronicles 30:9 Jonah 4:2

Strong’s Hebrew: 2587. חַנּוּן (channun)  gracious

Grace (χαρις) – We have to be on our guard against the supposition that grace is an abstract quality; it is an active personal principle, showing itself in our dealings with those by whom we are surrounded. … In the great proportion of passages in which the word grace is found in the New Testament, it signifies the unmerited operation of God in the heart of man, which is done through the agency of the Holy Spirit.

Greek for Grace (χαρις)  CHARIS literally means ‘favour’, to bend or stoop in kindness to another as a superior to an inferior. It has the idea of graciousness in manner or action.

It almost always means the power of salvation which finds expression in specific gifts and acts.

Recall The Hebrew word translated as grace is חן (hhen, Strong’s #2580) and is a two-letter parent root. חן (hhen) comes the verbal root חנה spelled exactly the same except with the addition of the letter ה (h) at the end. The following verse provides a good e.g. of the meaning of this verb.

And Isaac departed thence, and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there. (KJV, Genesis 26:17)

Recall this verb means “to pitch a tent” or “to camp.” The noun derived from this verb is מחנה (mahhaneh, Strong’s # 4264).

When we think of a camp we think of tents scattered about in a general area, but the camps of the Ancient Hebrews were a little different as the picture below shows.

The tents were set up in a sort of circle

(a womb-like shape)

and these tents serve as a wall/fence, separating and protecting the inside of the camp from the outside.

At this point it may help to look at the pictographic Hebrew script again which was used to originally write the word חן (hhen).

The first letter is the letter hhet/chet, which was written as

and is a picture of a wall,

having the meaning of separation

as the wall separates the inside from the outside.

The second letter is the letter nun, which was written as

and is a picture of a sprouting seed having the meaning of continue as the seed continues a lineage to the next generation; (as does the seed when planted in the womb).

When these two letters are combined they mean

the wall that continues.

The tents in the picture above are a wall that continues around the camp.

A second verbal root derived from the parent root חן (hhen) is חנן (Hh.N.N, Strong’s #2603), spelled exactly the same except with the addition of the letter ן (n) at the end and Channah H2580

This verb is often translated as to be gracious or have mercy, however these are abstract terms and do not help us understand the meaning of this verb from an Hebraic perspective, which always relates words to something concrete.

One of the best tools to use to find the more concrete meaning of a word is to look at how that word is paralleled with other words in poetical passages. In the following verses the translation of the verb חנן (Hh.N.N) are underlined and the word that it is paralleled with will be in black.

Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed. (KJV, Psalm 6:2)

Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper. (KJV, Psalm 30:10)

But thou, O LORD, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them. (KJV, Psalm 41:10)

Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast. (KJV, Psalm 57:1)

O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid. (KJV, Psalm 86:16)

Through this process we find that this Hebrew verb is paralleled with such ideas as healing, help, being lifted up, finding refuge, strength and salvation (literally rescue).

From a concrete Hebraic perspective, חנן (Hh.N.N) means all of this, which we can sum up with providing protection. Where does one run to for protection? The camp, and now we see how חנה (Hh.N.H), the camp, and חנן (Hh.N.N), protection, are related. We also need to see how these words are related to the parent root חן (hhen).

A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it… (KJV, Proverbs 17:8)

In this verse, the Hebrew word ‫חן (hhen) is translated as precious, something of beauty and value.

A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches. (KJV, Proverbs 11:16)

In this verse the grace, or beauty, of the woman is contrasted with the strength of a man.

Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised. (KJV, Proverbs 31:30

Again, this Hebrew word is being paralleled with beauty and this beauty is something that is precious and graceful, which is exactly how the Hebrews would have seen the camp of protection, a graceful and precious place.

Now we will return to our original definition of the English word grace.

Go Out and Dig

It began at nightfall on August 10 this year, and concluded at nightfall on Sunday, August 11 2019.

The 9th of Av, Tisha b’Av,

 Tish‘āh Be’āv בְּאָב תִּשְׁעָה

What is its’ significance and is there anything we can learn from it?

Tisha is the Hebrew word for the number 9

Av is the 11th month of the Hebrew Calendar and falls in July or August.

It is the saddest day on the Jewish calendar because it is the culmination of the Three Weeks of Sorrow…

a period of time during which, Israel marks the time of the destruction of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

The 9th of Av, Tisha b’Av, commemorates a list of catastrophes so severe, it seems as if it is a day set aside by God for suffering. National calamities occurred and because of this it is a time of mourning and also of repentance.

From morning to moUrning is only a matter of adding U (yoU) into the mo_rning time of each day! When we are focused on self, we are not focused on Him. When we are focused on Him we rejoice to see that His mercies are new every morning.

When we, that is our flesh, gets in the mix we enter into the mourning!

Tisha B’Av is a record of both destruction and renewal following the things that have happened to Israel over the centuries.

The first and earliest reference is in Deuteronomy 1:1 –3:22

Devarim

דברים

Words;

which comes from the phrase

Eleh ha –  – Devarim

meaning:

These are the words.

Deuteronomy 1:1

Deuteronomy is Greek and means:

repetition of the Torah

it is derived from the Hebrew phrase, Mishnah ha Torah. Deuteronomy 17:18

דברים – Devarim

That is from the first verse of Deuteronomy, the final book of the Torah of Moses as he begins to remind this new generation of Israelites of the law given to them at Mount Sinai after their miracle Exodus from Egypt.

In our English Bibles, Devarim is known as “Deuteronomy,” from a Greek word used to translate the phrase mishneh ha-Torah (“copy of the Torah,” Deut. 17:18).

The Hebrew, Sefer D’varim, refers to its first words: Eleh ha-d’varim, “These are the words [that Moses addressed to all Israel]” (Deuteronomy1:1). Derived from the Greek translation for Mishneh Torah, Deuteronomium means “second law” and refers to the fact that Moses is repeating the Exodus/Numbers narrative.

The term can also stretch to mean discourses or talks. The English name, Deuteronomy, comes from the name which the book bears in the Septuagint (וץפוסןם ליןם) and in the Vulgate (Deuteronomium).

This first reference is of the 12 spies, which is, Meraglim – מרגלים – in Hebrew.

It comes from the root word ragil, which means to habituate oneself, to become accustomed to. Did the meraglim put too much value on the habit and predictability of life?

The Hebrew word refers to one who scouts a land to gather information and the English word refers to one who explores a land for apparently recreational purposes. Nonetheless, the twelve spies which Moshe/Moses sent are generally known as meraglim—not tarim.

Meraglim which can also mean traitors or deserters. In Numbers 13, the Hebrew word describing the group is also the word usually translated as men or as princes.

The Hebrew year was 2448 – 1312 BCE. During the time of Moses, The Israelites were in the desert, recently having experienced the miraculous Exodus, and were now about to enter the Promised Land of Canaan. To assist in formulating a prudent battle strategy they send out a reconnaissance mission first.

These meraglimincluded Caleb and Joshuah and were the cream of the Israelite tribes. Moses chose one righteous prince from each of the 12; Levi being the only tribe which was exempt.

Joshua was a type of Yeshua/Messiah who would bring salvation to the people and lead them into the promised land.

Joshua, who was to succeed Moses’ had been known up until this point in time, as Hoshea, which is the same Hebrew word as Joshua (Yehoshua), but without the letter yud/yod.

Moses added the yud/yod to Hoshea’s name, changing its’ meaning to:

God will save you [from their plans].

Adding a Yod was no random act for the letter Yod, although the smallest of the letters, is the little that holds a lot.

Yod/yud has a numerical value of 10 symbolic of the full manifestation of God; it represents the spiritual, all of that which is beyond the physical, yet it plays the most important role in the whole of Creation.

The first letter of God’s name YHWH is a Yod/Yud.

Yod represents a mere dot, iota (in Greek), a little speck, a tiny point in which all the divine energy of Creation is concentrated.  For infinite God to create a finite world there had to be contraction, a containment. The God of infinity made something finite.

All 22 letters have a yud contained in them as the first point of every letter that is formed.

It is also a picture of humility. An example being, when Jacob was renamed from Ya’akov to Yisrael, all that remained of his former Hebrew name was the letter Yod!

Each letter of the Hebrew alphabet in the Old Testament has an associated pictogram (a symbol or icon) that adds meaning to the open text.

This is evidence of a supernatural hand of design behind the original Hebrew text of the Bible and a very good reason to look at their original meaning.

Moses did this before the scouting mission. No doubt the added boost of spiritual power this new name represented, would serve him well in the difficult times that were to come.

Joshua is a Biblical given name derived from the Hebrew Jehoshua/ Yehoshua (יהושע) meaning the LORD is salvation. יְהוֹשֻׁעַ

The name was a common alternative form of the name יֵשׁוּעַ – yēšūă which corresponds to the Greek spelling Ἰησοῦς (Iesous), from which, through the Latin Iesus, comes the English spelling Jesus.

יֵשׁוּעַ

The 12 Spies (Meraglim) return on the eighth day of Av and report that the land is unconquerable. That night, the 9th of Av, the people cry.

Joshua (Yehoshua) tried to reason with the people giving his positive report,

but the people were not convinced, and went so far as to threaten to stone Caleb and Joshua.

They insist that they’d rather go back to Egypt than be slaughtered by the Canaanites. God is not happy with this public demonstration of distrust in His power, to bring them successfully into the land He had promised them.

And His presence appeared in the Tabernacle expressing His exasperation with the nation and His intention to wipe them out.

This was not the first time that this had happened, only 12 months earlier God had considered destroying the people after the sin of the golden calf. It was at that time, God gave Moses the 13 Attributes of Mercy, and explained the process through which Divine forgiveness could be obtained.

Moses once again begged for mercy, pointing out that if God were to destroy the people right there, the nations would mistakenly think that He did not have the power to bring them into the Promised Land. After Moses recounted the 13 Attributes, God agreed to spare the children of Israel.

However, because they accepted the slanderous report of the 10 Spies in the desert; the decree was issued forbidding them from entering the Land of Canaan, consequently that generation of Israelites never enters the Holy Land. Only their children had that privilege, after wandering in the desert for another 38 years.

The 9th of AV was the day they returned to Kadesh where they were camped. It was almost 6 weeks after scouting the land. (40 days)

The spies went to the people instead of to Moses and Aaron, with the bad report and a warning that conquering those in the land would be impossible. The biggest obstacle being that the cities were fortified with walls as was Jericho.

Only two of those who returned showed faith and had a positive attitude.

After the immediate rejoicing over the abundant produce they returned with, the bad report caused the people to yearn for what they had left behind in Egypt. Numbers 14:3-4

Because of this they were delayed 40 years from entering the promised land.

A year for each day they had been in the land spying.

Except for Yehoshua bin Nun (Joshua the son of Nun) and Kalev (Caleb) the son of Jephunneh, every person 20 years of age and older were fated to die in the wilderness.

The other 10 spies were immediately killed by a plague sent from the Lord.

So they wandered for 40 years and the Hebrew writings record that, each year on the eve of the 9th of AV Moses would tell the people,

Go Out and Dig!!

Every year, on Erev Tisha B’Av, they would leave the close vicinity of the camp and go and dig their own graves. They would then lay down and sleep in them overnight. The next day the shout went up, let the living separate from the dead.

The understanding was that those of them who had reached the age of 60 would not rise the next day and that first

morning

some 15,000 individuals were found dead in their graves. This was indeed a moUrning day.

According to tradition, this harrowing ritual was repeated annually for 40 years, until the original 600,000 male Israelites who left Egypt, those who doubted that they could attain the Promised Land finally died.

(600,000 did not include women, children and old men.)

So every year, those who were supposed to die that year passed away, and those that survived returned to their tents. (Bava Batra 121a, Rashbam).

Accordingly, throughout the forty years, the people were

first buried and

then died.

This continued until a year came that no one died….

That particular year they thought they had got the day wrong and so they slept an extra night in their graves.

This continued for 5 nights until the 15th AV when they observed the full moon, they then realized their calculations were correct and rejoicing broke out as they realized that no more of that generation would die.

This is why the 15th AV – Tu B’AV is a day of celebration…

and always on a full moon.

In modern Israel it is a day of

romance and love – chag ahavah.

The word “Tu” ( ט”ו) is an acronym for 15 – derived from Tet (9) and Vav (6).

The phrase “Tu B’Av” indicates the 15th day of the month of Av

(i.e., Chamishah Asar B’Av)

באב ט״ו  on the Jewish calendar.

The wilderness generation had finally died and the new generation was ready to enter the land of promise.

The second national catastrophe was that The First Temple was Solomon’s Temple destroyed by Nebuchandnezar and the Neo-Babylonian Empire on the 9th of Av 3340 (423 BCE). 10,000 were killed and the remaining tribes in the southern kingdom were exiled to Babylon and Persia/Iran.

Next national catastrophe occurred when the Jews rebelled against Roman rule, they believed that their leader, Simon Bar Kochba, would fulfill their messianic longings. Their hopes were cruelly dashed in 3892/ 132 CE as over 100,000 of the Jewish rebels were brutally slaughtered in the final battle at Beitar as the battle was lost. The Beitar fortress was the last standing Jewish fortress in the Bar Kokhba revolt of the 2nd century CE, destroyed by the Roman army of Emperor Hadrian in the year 135. The site of historic Betar (also spelled Betar or Bethar), next to the modern Palestinian village of Battir, southwest of Jerusalem.

Next

One year after their conquest of Beitar, another catastrophe occurred at the Beit Hamikdash on the Temple Mount (Har HaBayit), Israels holiest site.

This happened in 3830 or 70 CE (500 years after the destruction of the First Temple), as the Roman empire under Emperor Titus, drew closer to the Second Temple in Jerusalem, and were about to torch it, the nation of Israel were shocked to realize that their Second Temple was destroyed on exactly the same day as the first led by a roman General named Turnus Rufus. Jerusalem was rebuilt as a pagan city and renamed Aelia Capitlina and all Jews were forbidden access.

Beit Hamikdash is the Hebrew phrase for the Temple that was first built by King Solomon.  (literally “The Holy House”)

A bayit is a house. Mikdash comes from kadosh, meaning holy. Beit Hamikdash

בית המקדש

generally the term used is Churban HaBayit (literally, “the destruction of the House”).

The Temple was considered as:

the neck of the world.

The place where Heaven touches Earth, where mortals can feel eternity.

It was built in the time of Shlomo HaMelech, King Solomon, who was the son of King David, and was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar II and the Babylonians after the Siege of Jerusalem in 587 BCE.

בֵּית־הַמִּקְדָּשׁ   Holy Temple

It was subsequently replaced with the Second Temple.

The purpose of the Beit Hamikdash was to inspire each individual to become a miniature Beit Hamikdash. So in the absence of the Beit Hamikdash, (which is no longer necessary since Messiah has come), we are to create God’s Temple within His own creation.

Much as the Babylonians destroyed the First Temple, as retaliation for an ongoing Jewish revolt, the Romans destroyed the Second Temple and Jerusalem in 70 CE.

The second temple lasted for a total of 585 years (516 BCE to 70 CE). Jewish eschatology includes a belief that the Second Temple will be replaced by a future Third Temple.

Yet another catastrophic event happened on 9th Av 1290 (5050). The Jews were expelled from England having been there since William the conqueror invaded in 1066 bringing with him the Jews that were living in Normandy, France.

The next catastrophe happened in In 1492, (5252).

The Golden Age of Spain came to a close when Queen Isabella and her husband Ferdinand ordered that the Jews be banished from the land.

The edict of expulsion was signed on March 31, 1492, and the Jews were given exactly four months to put their affairs in order and leave the country. The Hebrew date, year 5252, on which no Jew was allowed any longer to remain in the land where he had enjoyed welcome and prosperity.

Known as The Inquisition in Spain and Portugal it culminated in the expulsion of the Jews from the Iberian Peninsula. Families were separated, many died by drowning and there was a massive loss of property.

1492 also noted as the year Columbus ‘discovered America’.

On the 9th of Av saw the start of both world wars.

In 5674/1914 Britain and Russia declare war on Germany.

The First World War began.

Then, just a few years later in sept 1939/5699, came World War II and the Holocaust, ending on 2nd sept1945 /5705.

Historians speculate, the 2nd world war was actually the long drawn-out conclusion of World War I that began in 1914/5674 due to First World War issues being unresolved,

Incredibly Germany declared war on Russia, effectively catapulting the First World War into motion, on the 9th of Av, Tisha b’Av

Hebraic mindset sees this as another confirmation of the deeply held conviction that history isn’t haphazard; events – even terrible ones – are part of a Divine plan and have spiritual meaning. The message of time is that everything has a rational purpose, even though we don’t understand it.

This is the season of reading the Book of Lamentations and remembering the historical events that took place on Tisha b’Av. No wonder it is the Jewish day of mourning; the temple was destroyed the nation dispersed and they lost their homeland.

It is little wonder they approach this time of each year with a certain trepidation, as there is no word for coincidence in the Hebrew language, everything has a time and a purpose.

The timely caveat is for all believers to pray for the nation and the people of Israel; for the shalom of Yerushalayim/Jerusalem…

because, if we do not learn from history we seem destined to repeat it; and the western youth of today have not even the slightest clue of the horrors man can do to fellow man. Yes, God is in control, of course; however we are to pray without ceasing and when we don’t know about certain events or choose to downplay or ignore them, it shows a lack of wisdom concerning God’s mandate.

We have a part to play and we must be doers of that part for we are grafted in as part of spiritual Israel.

The key with God is that He never leaves nor forsakes us and especially His covenant family who are the apple of His eye. The Lord delivers him out of all his troubles.

God has delivered Israel time and time again and the fact that they are a prospering sovereign nation today is a miracle in itself. Many empires have risen and fallen and are lost to time and history.

Israel remains because they are in the palm of His hand and it is where He has put His Name.

https://www.minimannamoments.com/i-will-put-my-name-here/

Surely this is a picture of Hope/tikvah in its fullness, considering all Israel has endured throughout the millennia.

Their Hope/tikvah is in the Lord, the God of Israel, and His promise is always to restore and renew!

Their, and our, mourning will be turned into dancing and joy. Ps. 30:11

Pray their eyes are opened to see their Messiah is Yeshua.

As Moses anointed Joshua to lead the children of Israel into His promised land Messiah Yeshua will return to lead us all.

Blessed are they whose HOPE/tikvah is in the Lord… and they surely needed such an ANCHOR/O’gehn, to take them through all their times of testing.

For thou art my HOPE (tikvah), O Lord GOD: thou art my trust from my youth. (Ps. 71:5)

Make sure Messiah Jesus/Yeshua is your Redeemer, Savior, Lord and soon returning King and that you have a personal relationship with Him.

It’s all about Life and Relationship, NOT Religion.

You are greatly loved and precious in His sight.

SAY THE FOLLOWING FROM YOUR HEART RIGHT NOW…

Heavenly Father I come to you in the Name of Jesus/Yeshua asking for forgiveness of my sins for which I am truly sorry. I repent of them all and turn away from my past.

I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus/Yeshua is your Son and that He died on the cross at calvary to pay the price for my sin, so that I might be forgiven and have eternal life in the kingdom of Heaven. Father I believe that Jesus/Yeshua rose from the dead and I ask you to come into my life right now and be my personal Savior and Lord and I will worship you all the days of my life. Because your word is truth I say that I am now forgiven and born again and by faith I am washed clean with the blood of Jesus/Yeshua. Thank you that you have accepted me into your family in Jesus’/Yeshua’s name. Amen.

The Secret of O’gehn of Tiqvah PART 2

In Titus 1:2,

The HOPE of our future salvation not only ANCHORS us to wait on God in present storms…

BUT

Read that again…

HOPE was BEFORE the beginning of Time!

Wow! – It’s inseparable from Him because the structure of its’ components are eternal.

King James Bible
In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Berean Study Bible
in the hope of eternal life, which God, who cannot lie, promised before time began.

Douay-Rheims Bible
Unto the hope of life everlasting, which God, who lieth not, hath promised before the times of the world:

Young’s Literal Translation
upon hope of life age-during, which God, who doth not lie, did promise before times of ages,

Paul, a bond-servant of God and an apostle (special messenger, personally chosen representative) of Jesus Christ, for the faith of God’s chosen ones and [to lead and encourage them to recognize and pursue] the knowledge of the truth which leads to godliness, based on the hope and divine guarantee of eternal life, [the life] which God, who is ever truthful and without deceit, promised before the ages of time began, and at the appointed time has made known His word and revealed it as His message, through preaching, which was entrusted to me according to the command of God our Savior.

Amplified 1:1-3

When trouble comes all words are often Help! and Please!

And occasionally why? and why me?!

The Psalmist teaches that along with petition there is to be a multitude of praise… So which comes first HOPE or praise?

But I will continually

wait

with

HOPE

under the wings

and add to all Gods praise.

Psalms 71:14 – 16

Our understanding mind may agree in mental assent, but how do we apply His Word to our lives?

Where ever there is a lack, that is the place to start.

The goal is… continually wait with hope.

Both of these increase as we use our mouths, (the paleo Hebrew letter P, PEY is a pictograph of a mouth), to confess His righteousness and salvation. Giving Him praise and thanks.

Though they are beyond numbering, we are to recount them all day long. It is in this way we increase our HOPE, as there is no such thing as praising God too much.

Empty praise deflates hope.

The key is to let Praise build up our HOPE, and then respond to the HOPE we have increased, by praising Him some more.

He alone is worthy of praise and as we recall His righteousness, we will be able to come into His might with courage, in the same way as David encouraged himself in the Lord.

This strength comes from Him alone. It’s not our strength and only with His, can we persevere and overcome.

Endurance is not gained by simply crying out to Him.

The difference is in having the fortitude, endurance and patience to praise Him even in the worst of circumstances and to keep adding to that praise. Ps 150:6 and

As we turn to Him, Adonai-Elohym whether in joy or sorrow, our HOPE is always increased and with it faith is too. And our love for all that He is, is embodied in Him. For we know we can trust and hope in the man that died for us.

Psalms 148:7-14  and All of creation is always declaring to us God’s glory.

Hope is the spiritual essence of encouragement.

In Hebrews 6:19 – Notice another important point – as well as This

Hope – Tikvah- תִּקְוָה

we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil,

The second part of the verse tells us this very important point… it is one which enters within the veil,

This one is hope and it, hope, enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain!

The hope, this anchor, enables us to

go beyond the veil which is now

torn in two

from TOP to bottom

and we can enter in to the inner sanctuary..

the Holy of Holies’/Kodesh haKodashim…

which contained ‘the ark of the covenant’.

Now in fulfillment of both the promise and the oath to Abraham taken by God that it would come to pass, we have been invited to this place that was never accessible before.

This is because Jesus/Yeshua went before us and operates as our High Priest before God having made atonement for us. What began in the wilderness Mishkan was concluded when from the cross, Jesus/Yeshua said.

It is finished.

“Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful” (Hebrews 10:19-23).

The reason we can enter boldly into the Holy of Holies is because Yeshua/Jesus is there -shammah – waiting to welcome us.

His Blood has removed all traces of sin making us clean (Hebrews 7:27; 8:11-12; 9:26; 10:10, 12, 14, 18).

As High Priest, He makes intercession before the Father on our behalf. (Hebrews 7:16, 25: 9:24; 10:19-21).

He eternally holds the rank after the order of Melchizedek (Hebrews 5:6; 7:16, 24, 28) and has fulfilled the promise made to Abraham that through his Seed a great nation would be born (Galatians 3:16-17).

https://www.minimannamoments.com/a-mystery-how-messiah-takes-blue-and-red-threads-to-make-purple-people/ .

He is the Dalet. John 10:7-9

The Door through the torn veil…

As grafted in believers, we are the result of that promise.

All of this combined gives us the HOPE needed to enter into God’s presence.

This is the ANCHOR for our soul keeping us steadfast and secure no matter what life holds.

The HOPE behind the curtain is not only an ANCHOR for our soul, it also gives us assurance for our salvation; because He is that present and eternal High Priest after the order of Melki Zedek.

https://www.minimannamoments.com/why-was-the-priest-in-the-water-conclusion-of-the-mystery/

HOPE enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, Hebrews 9:7.

But only the high priest entered the second room, and then only once a year, and never without blood, which he offered for himself and for the sins the people had committed in ignorance.

This hope this anchor, ushers us into the very presence of God, through the DALET-door Jesus/Yeshua Himself, which He made in the tearing of that veil between the realms and into the Fathers presence behind the torn veil/door in the Holy of Holies.

There were many regulations that first had to be met. The High Priest did not enter in with confidence. In fact, the High Priest had to take a censer of coals and incense with him so the smoke would cover the mercy seat to shield him from seeing it, lest he die (Leviticus 16:12-13).

This was Holy Ground because Gods’ Presence was there, His shekinah glory. šekīnah

שכינה

The Shekinah is also mentioned (in Hebrew prayers) as an angelic essence of God. The two very similar common expressions regarding this angelic essence are “ta-chat kan-fey ha-she-chi-na,” (under the wings of the Divine Presence) and “al kan-fey ha-she-chi-na,” (on the wings of the Divine Presence).

The divine presence of God actually descends into the physical world to dwell among humans. The original Hebrew word for this “divine presence” is the shekinah (שכינה).

Now, we have a HOPE,

an ANCHOR,

that brings us into the very presence of God, and an ANCHOR,

by it’s definition, keeps us

Hebrews 6:19-20. HOPE enters the inner sanctuary of CHEN behind the curtain and the Hebrew writer tells us that HOPE in the eternal life, is an anchor for us in the stormy seas of this life.

When darkness seems to obscure His face, we are to REST in His Eternal and Unchanging GRACE – Chen.

In every storm and through all the rough weather we encounter in our journey the anchor of HOPE holds firm within the veil where we are enveloped in His presence.

This is the place/ha makem of His true shalom and where we will meet face to face, the Sar Shalom/Prince of Peace and the Captain of our Salvation.

Joshua as an Old Testament type of Messiah, is the Captain who leads Israel into the Land, (and brought salvation to Rahab and her household the scarlet thread of HOPE a prophetic picture of Messiahs’ Blood.)

Yeshua/Jesus is the Captain of our Salvation (Hebrews 2:10), who brings believers today into His promised Rest.

A captain is one among a group who leads the others to achieve an objective.

For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. Hebrews 2:10 C. S. Bible (Heb. 4:8, 9; Acts 20:32; 26:18).

As well as the author and finisher of our faith;

Furthermore having HOPE will give us COURAGE:

The same courage Rahab had and because of it, her future in the lineage of Messiah was secured!

Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab” (Matthew 1:5).

Then Ruth and Boaz had Obed – who was the father of Jesse – who was the father of King David.

Two women, Rahab and Ruth, who were genetically close to King David, were definitely not in God’s sacred Israelite bloodline. Rahab was King David’s great, great grandmother. Ruth was King David’s great grandmother. The gentile/heathens were included even then!

18 Having HOPE will give you COURAGE. You will be protected and will rest in safety. 19 You will lie down unafraid, and many will look to you for help. 20 But the wicked will be blinded.  Job 11:18 NLT

Strong’s Hebrew: 553. אָמַץ (amets) — to be stout, strong … and

אֹמֶץ

while the English word courage comes from the Latin word cor meaning heart; (so that courage might be also be called heartedness,)

the Hebrew word

אומץ

might best be defined as

willingness to take action.

A related word is מַאֲמָץ – effort.

It is a uniquely strong and powerful descriptor of “courage” that comes from God.

Chazaq 2389

אומץ

 אָמַץ

Transliteration: amets

This statement,

HOPE will give you COURAGE,

is simple, so simple that we can mentally agree to it and dismiss it as simply common sense,

but in reality there is something tremendously powerful here!

First, we need to look at Hopelessness which is the opposite and makes us discouraged.

Interestingly scientists are now discovering that all depression can be sourced to hopelessness or helplessness, and we see once again that the Word of God clearly gives us the pattern of human behavior before finally science catches up.

In many areas of our lives we can lack the courage to make decisions. How can we get that courage? HOPE!

We must remember the hope of heaven,

the hope of Yeshua/Jesus’ return.

The hope that God’s Word is truth

and all His promises are proven trustworthy in our lives.

Truth – אֶמֶת – eh-MEHT
Strong’s Hebrew: 571. אֱמֶת (emeth) — firmness, faithfulness …
The Rabbis pointed out that the Hebrew word for truth
– אֶמֶת (eh-MEHT) –
begins with the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet, א, continues with one of the two middle letters, מ, and ends with the last letter, ת.
This Biblical Hebrew word therefore encompasses the gamut of reality!
The word for real is אֲמִתִּי (ah-mee-TEE).
In Hebrew, the word for truth, emet (אֱמֶת), contains the first, middle, and the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet, indicating that…
truth encompasses all things and endures from the beginning (א) to the end (ת)!

This is the measure of HOPE that we have!

Because the word HOPE in Hebrew actually means to expect or, have some sort of expectation. This means we aren’t merely hoping it to be completed.

We’re 100% expecting it to be completed.

There should be no doubt anywhere in our mind concerning the Lord’s promises to us.

Meaning Of The Word Hope In Greek:

Elpizo– this verb means to hope. The verb is followed by three prepositions:
  1. eis- “on”. Ususally translated “in” and used in John 5:45:
“Do not think that I shall accuse you to the Father; there is one who accuses you—Moses, in whom you trust.“
  1. epi- “on”. Found in Romans 15:12, “There shall be a root of Jesse; And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, In Him the Gentiles shall hope.
  2. en- “in”.
“If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.”
-1 Corinthians 15:19
These prepositions express that Messiah is the sphere and element where this ‘hope’ is placed. Since hope is a verb, those who walk in this hope are considered “hopeful” and have a character of hope.
Elpis- to anticipate, usually with pleasure.
As a noun it means, “favorable and confident expectation, a forward look with assurance.”
Elpis refers to the future and the unseen such as in Romans 8:24-25: “For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.”
Elpis is found over 50 times in the New Testament. The apostle Paul was constantly talking about anticipating future events with joy, such as in these scriptures:
“And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made by God to our fathers.”
-Acts 26:6
“For we through the Spirit eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.”
-Galatians 5:5
“if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.”
-Colossians 1:23
“Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.“
-Romans 5:1-
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,  and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power“
-Ephesians 1:17-19

HOPE is a purifying power.

According to 1 John 3:3: “And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”

and since the term HOPE in Greek means anticipation, in order to get a deeper understanding of them, we could read all of these scriptures replacing those particular words.

This would change our perspective on these scriptures and how we see it.

Paul was constantly talking about expecting or waiting with absolute certainly for the Lord’s promises.

God, the God of HOPE. Certainly, the Lord isn’t an undecided being. Instead, He’s extremely trustworthy and can be relied on. When we place our HOPE in God, we shouldn’t feel unsure of His actions and intentions. Here we can see exactly what the scriptures mean when it mentions the word HOPE.

The ANCHOR of our soul keeps us connected:

Romans 12:12; 1Thessalonians 5:8; Hebrews 6:18,19.
I would have fainted- unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Ps 27:13

I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living.
[What, what would have become of me] had I not believed that I would see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living! American Standard Version
[I had fainted], unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah In the land of the living. The Complete Jewish Bible
This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary. English Standard Version
We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain, Berean Study Bible

Jesus/Yeshua IS the ANCHOR To Our Soul.

He is our anchor and He holds us even through the darkest of nights, the roaring of the raging seas and in our hour of temptations.

Give all your troubles to Jesus/Yeshua who is the author and the finisher of our faith, (Hebrews 12:2,) because through Him we can have abundant HOPE, and (Psalm 31:24.  Be of good courage.)

Then that hope becomes an anchor for our souls.

The main reason we need an anchor is to keep from drifting into things that would destroy us, especially during storms. Abraham had his storms as he waited on God.

Faith in God and in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ/Yeshua HaMashiach, is the main anchor that we must have in our lives, to hold us fast, during times of social turbulence and wickedness, that seem to be everywhere today. This faith, this HOPE, this anchor, must be more than that of the generic dictionary definition.

The anchor of our souls is not a rope hanging in the air, waiting for our weak hands to grasp and hold. That would be no security, the links that hold us are unbreakable.

The anchor of our soul is as solidly bound to us as it is to heaven.

Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love. 1 Corinthians 13:13.

If faith, hope, and love are the things that last forever, it becomes clear that these are the things we should pursue with our lives:

Faith

אמונה – emunah

There are a number of Hebrew words used in the Old Testament which are related to faith or believing in God. These are: aman, batah, mibtah, hasah, galal, mahseh, yahal, rechats and emunah.

The Hebrew word aman means believe, trust in, rely upon, believe in, have faith or be faithful trust, have belief, believe, to be certain.

And love/emunah/aman

is the greatest because

Faith/אמונה – emunah

and Hope/Tikvah – תִּקְוָה

can only work by love/Ahava/emunah/aman, and only show themselves by love/אהבה Ahava (Ah-ha-vah.)

Love is as the undivided perfection of sevenfold light.

The Hebrew word for “Love” is Ahava (Ah-ha-vah.)

But, love is more than just a word.

It is an emotion that involves action and in Israel, where Hebrew is the national language, love is also a way of life!

Strong’s Hebrew: 157. אָהַב (aheb) — to love

The Hebrew has two main words for love, ahab and hesed.

Love in ahab sense is the closest to the English meaning and is usually refer to the love between people (husband and wide, parent and child, friends) or of people toward God. More rarely, it may also refer to the love of God toward people.

Recall that Faith and HOPE are precious stones of one color, (see part 1) as a ruby and a sapphire; but love, as He has been showing us throughout the scriptures, is a diamond of many facets.

HOPE in Hebrews is a faithful or persistent HOPE, and love is a faithful or enduring love. All three rely on the faithfulness of God.

The desire of the righteous is only good, But the expectation of the wicked is wrath. Proverbs 11:23.

We will finally get to eat of that eternal fruit as overcomers!

Hosea 6:3 (KJV). 3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the Lord: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

And then we will KNOW

HOPE is a golden cord connecting us there –  it helps us stand firm and strong. It’s the support to our weary arms, legs and head when tests and trials and spiritual buffeting is abounding; and when it does, GRACE CHEN does much more abound.

That place/ha makem of safety.

This journey through life is UPHILL, and HOPE lifts our viewpoint from the path where the next foot step will fall, carefully placed so we do not trip or slide off the narrow mountain trail/Way.

HOPE lifts our head and then we see the view from the high road, for its’ destination is the glory of His Heavens/shamayim. And when our focus is on the goal, we consider the condition of the road we travel with less significance.

Rough or smooth matters much less, yet He still requires our focus to be on two things. One is HOPE and the second, He never leaves nor forsakes us – He is ever present – Jehovah Shammah.

The hope of the heavens/shamayim, and the Kingdom thereof,

Hope thou in God – faith is the evidence of things hoped for.

Romans 5:5 now HOPE does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

We are a blessed people we have the Holy Spirit/Ruach HaKodesh, of the living God living in our hearts; and our faith in Him, gives us HOPE that that love shed abroad in our hearts, can be counted on to sustain us as long as we need it to.

There are times in every believers life that our humanity rises up with questions.

Has God forgotten me?

For all who have failed, fallen, sinned, all who have lost people and things and wondered at the events unfolding all around.

There is a HOPE to be found in an unusual person…in Zicharayah!

When Israel’s sins where so great, having turned from God, broken the covenant, rejected His ways, persecuted his prophets, did and celebrated what was the evil, (ra – out of harmony with God), and lifted/given their children as sacrifices on the altars of foreign gods. They had every reason to believe that their days as a nation were over, exile from their homeland which was destroyed, they sat and wept by the river, by the waters of Babylon remembering…

After many years in exile, a remnant returned to the land of Israel, only to find it a wasteland and Jerusalem in ruins. They were hindered at every effort in trying to rebuild it. They were discouraged and felt like God had forgotten them because of their unfaithfulness…

until a baby was born.

He was called Zicharayah, who would grow up to become the prophet sent to them in their days of discouragement and sorrow. Zicharayah is the Hebrew spelling of Zechariah which is more familiar to us.

Strong’s Hebrew: 2148.

Hebrew origin, meaning

Yahweh remembers.”

It comes from the Hebrew word

zakhar, meaning to remember,

and yah,

one of the names of the Hebrew God.

This child was the sign in flesh and blood that He/God has remembered them even in their greatest fall and darkest times through sins of disobedience.

Even when they had forgotten God, He had not forgotten them.

He upheld His covenant, remembered His promises and with love and tender mercies He did not give up on Israel but encouraged them that they would be restored.

The prophet called ‘God has remembered,’ came with a message that they were to rebuild Jerusalem; and that it would be to this rebuilt Jerusalem that the Messiah would come, and He did.

Here is the key for all who have failed, fallen, sinned, who have lost and questioned in discouragement and dismay. Our answer is Zicharayah… remember his name and when we feel God has forgotten and abandoned us …Zicharayah.

It is a reminder of His promise, He has not forgotten us and when we repent and return to Him, His faithfulness to us will always be greater than our sins.

This is the reality and true meaning of the HOPE of the Bible.

Faith, Hope and Love – Zicharayah!

And now these 3 remain…

faith, hope and love

we tend to focus on the love and faith elements, knowing that true faith is more than just an emotional feeling or even a belief; it is a whole-soul commitment to God.

Because they are gifts which last forever they are an essential part of God’s nature and also that part of Him that now resides within us.

1 John 4:16 and Christ/Messiah in us the hope of glory, for He is the Lord of Glory.

The scripture says, And love is the greatest, this is because faith and hope can only work by love, and only show themselves by love.

Love is as the united perfection of sevenfold light.

Faith and Hope are like precious stones of one color, as a ruby and a sapphire merged together as purple;

however love, as is revealed in this chapter, is also represented as a diamond of many facets.

In Ps. 37:3-5,7a; genuine faith is explained:

Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness. delight yourself in the LORD; and He will give you the desires of your heart.

Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him and He will do it.

Rest [Be still] in the LORD and wait patiently for Him.

Hope holds some precious secrets for us to discover…

In Hebrews, Hope is described as a faithful or persistent hope, and love is a faithful or enduring love. All three rely on the faithfulness of God and Paul refers to the triad of faith, hope and love several times.

The Word of God tells us that our HOPE is in the LORD (Ps 37:9) and He will keep extending His love toward them and will not forsake his faithful ones. (Ps 37:28).

And in Ps 42 and 43 When David questions himself saying, Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? He also answers, encouraging himself to, Put your HOPE in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.

The Lord is the one sure hope of safety and deliverance in times of danger and as Believers, our very hope is based upon our salvation which comes through the grace/chen, of God ( 2 Thess. 2:26; 1Thess. 5:8-10; 1Tim. 1:1)

We must stay sober by putting on the breastplate of faith and love and as a helmet our hope for salvation.

This keeps our mind and thoughts focused on the things pertaining to the Kingdom of the Heavens.

For God has not destined us for wrath but for gaining salvation through our Messiah. He died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we will come to life together with Him.

Christ in us the hope of glory. Col 1:27

Typically we tend to think of hope as a feeling that something desirable is likely to happen. There is a difference between a wish, or longing and hope, which implies expectation of obtaining and realizing that which is desired.

In Hebrew, hope is the word

 tikvah (teek-VAH).

תִּקְוָה

Tiqwah  Tikvah (pronounced teek-VAH)  is a variant form of Tikva meaning hope תִּקְוָה Strong’s 8615 Tikvah (hope).

There are two men named Tikvah in scripture where it was used as a name:

The father of Shallum the husband of the prophetess Huldah. ( 2 Kings 22:14) (B.C. before 632.) Huldah, the prophetess who dispensed the Lord’s message concerning the book of the Law that was found during king Josiah’s reorganization of the temple (2 Kings 22:14). In the parallel text of 2 Chronicles 34:22 this man is called Tokhath.

The father of Jahaziah. ( Ezra 10:15.) who was one of four men who opposed the horrible mass-divorce during the purge of Ezra in chp.10:15. the son of Tikvah, the son KJV: the son of Tikvah, the son INT: of Shallum the son of Tikvah the son of Harhas. Ezra 10:15 HEB: וְיַחְזְיָ֥ה בֶן־ תִּקְוָ֖ה עָמְד֣וּ עַל־ Since the events described by Ezra take place a good century after the reign of king Josiah, these two Tikvahs are probably not the same person.

Strong’s defines it as a cord, expectation, and hope.

It comes from the Hebrew root kavah meaning to bind together, collect ; to expect: – tarry, wait (for, on, upon).

The root-verb קוה ( qawa ), means to collect or gather.

The first occurrence of the word tikvah תקוה, is in

Joshua 2:18.

Behold, when we come into the land, you shall bind this line of scarlet thread in the window which you let us down by: and you shall bring your father, and your mother, and your brethren, and all your father’s household, home to you.
2:21 And she said, According to your words, so be it. And she sent them away, and they departed: and she bound the scarlet line in the window.

It was a figurative picture, a symbol of her HOPE in her salvation;  (note the vav = nail, secure and hey = window, lattice, reveal!); it was her only assurance that her household would be spared by the Israelites. Although the physical cord had been tied, to guarantee their safety, Rahab had to WAIT for the realization of that promise.

Biblical meaning of the color scarlet.
In the KJV, the word ‘scarlet’ occurs 52 times, 6 of which are in the New Testament.
The Hebrew words that together translate into this color’s English name are tola (Strong’s Concordance #H8438) and shaniy (#H8144).
Blue – Purple and Red (Scarlet) Blue = techeilet. Purple = Argamon. Scarlet = (Tola’at) Shani.
Strong’s Hebrew: 8144. שָׁנִי (shani) — scarlet

Also used in the Scriptures is the Hebrew word ‘yachal‘ meaning ‘hope‘ יַחַל

Strong’s 3176

yachal: to wait, await

Original Word: יָחַל
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: yachal
Phonetic Spelling: (yaw-chal’)
Definition: to wait, await

in Psalm 27:14 Kavahhope wait

While

HOPE in English is abstract,

HOPE in Hebrew thought, provides us with a strong visual.

A bound cord, rope, or thread cannot only be seen with our eyes, but it is something we can grasp hold of with our hands.

In other words, hope is something real enough that we can grasp on and cling to it.

Hope is not something out of our reach

and the helmet,

our hope for salvation,

anchors us to Him

and keeps our mind stayed on Him, being heavenly minded.

So, Tikvah or Tiqvah is translated from the Hebrew to our word Hope. However in the Hebrew, it has this much deeper meaning being defined as: a cord, a rope, a line, meaning to bind.

Tikvah is a rope, a line, that we can hold on to our Heavenly Father with; binding ourselves to Him when things are both good and bad.

Most anchors are attached to their vessels by chains which are stronger and more enduring than rope.

For us it is a cord, a rope, a line from the heavens/shamayim binding us to our Heavenly Father.

It is a direct life-preserver and a rescue line.

Psalm 62:5 Amplified.

Truly in Elohim I wait silently (in submission) my nefesh (soul) for my tikvah hope is from Him.

(Here again is the place of letting down of wings.)

It’s impossible to have real hope without waiting and waiting without hope is futile, therefore will I Hope in God.

Hebrews 6:19 – This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil,

In Hebrews 6:19 the word is used metaphorically for that which supports or keeps one steadfast in the time of trial or of doubt.

The word ‘hope’ in Hebrew  has a meaning ‘to expect’..

It is an emblem of hope.

Biblical hope is an optimism based on certainty and truth/emet, not upon a happy, lighthearted disposition that looks on the bright side. Hope isn’t merely optimism or a positive attitude alone.

If hope rests on mere fantasy, it is worthless.

In today’s world, hope means something that may or may not happen. We hope today would be a good day which carries little of the Hebrew thought with it.

For our hope to be real and valid, it must be based on truth and certainty and for believers it is, since our God is the God of hope (Rom.)

Hebrews says our hope is an anchor that is “both secure and firm.”

Therefore the word “hope” in 6:18 refers to an objective future reality that is desirable and sure for all who seize it.

Some Meanings Of The Word Hope In Hebrew:

Chacah – to flee for protection; to trust; confide in; to have hope; to make a refuge. This term is used when God is compared to a shield, a rock, or described as one with protective wings. Secret to the letting down of wings.

“He only is my rock and my salvation;
He is my defense; Psalm 62:2

Yachal – to be patient, hope, wait, trust, to stay in expectation.

O Israel, hope in the Lord;
For with the Lord there is mercy,
And with Him is abundant redemption.– Psalm 130:7

Therefore I will look to the Lord;
I will wait for the God of my salvation;
My God will hear me. – Micah 7:7

Mibtach – confidence; trust; assurance; hope. This word means “the act of confiding” as found in

Proverbs 21:22,  A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof. (KJV)

Mibtach is also used in Job 8:14 referring to the object of confidence:

Whose confidence shall be cut off, And whose trust is a spider’s web.

There’s another meaning of this term which is, the state of confidence or security. Used in

Proverbs 14:26, In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, And His children will have a place of refuge.

machaceh– a shelter; hope; a place of refuge, trust.

sabar– to scrutinize, to expect with hope and patience; hope.

The eyes of all look expectantly to You,
And You give them their food in due season. – Psalm 145:15

Towcheleth- expectation, hope.

Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life. – Proverbs 13:12

Tiquah- expectation; hope.

The desire of the righteous is only good,
But the expectation of the wicked is wrath. Proverbs 11:23

Strong’s Hebrew: 8615. תִּקְוָה (tiqvah) — cord

Strong’s Hebrew: 8616. תִּקְוָה (Tiqvah) — “hope,” two …

Some of the Paleo letters for Tiqvah below:

sound = T*

sound = Q

sound = V, W or O or U

sound = H or AH

sound = Q is also back of the head,

what is behind, last, final, the least.

So Tikvah – Hope, could be understood from the paleo as…

The mark, sign of the cross/covenant is coming around in time and space as a hook or peg connecting and securing us to behold the breath/spirit of the Father who is behind, the last, final, revealing.

Wow! that gives a whole new insight on Hope!

The size of the vessel is directly proportioned to the size of its anchor. So we should have no questions as to the capacity of Gods’ anchor.

The Roman anchor, like the modern one, had two teeth or flukes. Could one fluke be said to be representative of Faith the second of Love – if Hope itself is the anchor?

We have this hope as an anchor for the soul.

He is our O’gehn our anchor from the heavens – shamayim שמים and to the heavens…

and we are anchored above; where in the spiritual realm, we are seated together with Him…

we are not anchored below –

but above

– above all principalities and powers above all the power of the enemy. Ephesians 1:21

….far above all rule, and authority, and power, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age, but also in that which is to come.

(Aramaic Bible in Plain English)… Higher than all Principalities, Rulers, Powers, and Dominions, and higher than every name that is named, not only in this universe, but also in the one that is coming.

This anchor even resembles a cross

It is our HOPE

our yachal – pronounced yaw-chal

our tiqvah – pronounced Teek-vah

Since the beginning of nautical travel anchors have been around. Anchors hold ships firmly in place in the midst of the most stormy and dangerously tumultuous seas. Anchors have always been a safeguard for sea going vessels; keeping them from being washed ashore.

As believers we also have an anchor that is even more steadfast and even more secure, it is the hope placed upon Messiah Himself. This certainty is because this hope rests on God’s promise to Abraham and the

*oath/covenant, taken that this promise would come to pass (Hebrews 6:13-18).

*(as in the paleo meaning above of the first letter of Tikvah – T)

Since the 2, the promise and the oath, are intermingled and interdependent, we know that our hope is real and enduring.

This hope acts as an anchor for our soul keeping our hearts at rest so they cannot be tossed about or dislodged from a place of peace/shalom.

The hope is that He is working for us now this moment, on our behalf His perfect plan for our lives.

We have to see ourselves connected, joined, attached in a Way that cannot be broken – just like the enormous chains that attach the anchor to the vessel,

we are attached to our Heavenly Father/Avinu/Abba through Yeshua/Jesus by the power of His Ruach haKodesh/Holy Spirit.

And seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Messiah. As God placed Jesus/Yeshua at His right hand in heaven, so He has placed His people with Him in heavenly places;

That is… places where the privileges of heaven are dispensed, where the air of heaven is breathed, where the fellowship and the enjoyment of heaven are known, where an elevation of spirit is experienced as if heaven were begun.

Eph. 2:6

The only safe place to remove our helmet is at the foot of His Cross/Tav…. where the HOPE/Tikvah of our salvation is found.
