Daily Devotions For The 49 Days of Omer

As Messianic Believers our thoughts should be about Yeshua every day and the counting of the Omer is an opportune time to reflect on our relationship with Him and prepare our hearts for the upcoming Feast Of Shavuot/Pentecost. A time of Holy Fire which will complete the cleansing and (re)fill us with His Ruach.

This page is to assist in that process, as a tool to search our hearts. It is a time to examine ourselves….

It’s a mitzvah  מִצְוָה

Phonetic Spelling: (mits-vaw’)

The term Mitzvah is Hebrew for: commandment has also come to express an individual act of human kindness in keeping with the law.

Plural: Mitzvot are an expression of the will of God, and include not only an order to do something, but also the moral imperative or obligation to do it.

The great revealing/apocalypse of the instant freedom that we remember as an experience on the Seder night so often seems to pass us by. Slaves yesterday, free today, our earthen vessels are simply unable to absorb the great chesed – loving kindness – and enlightenment that Our Heavenly Father has blessed us with. For this we have Sefirat HaOmer – the counting of the days of the Omer, the purpose of this is to gradually prepare us for the great re-illumination of His light in the receiving of Torah on Mount Sinai.

49 days that can change our world:

The 49 days between Passover and Shavuot,
(between leaving Egypt and receiving Torah at Sinai), are days filled with spiritual potential and the opportunity for growth is ours for the taking. We must make our days count as we count our days.

After the Children of Israel left Egypt, 49 days passed before they received the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai.

The Omer is counted after nightfall on each evening between Passover and Shavuot.

Each year, we remember this inner journey with our Counting of the Omer. Beginning on the second night of Passover, we count the days and weeks.

It took seven weeks to reach the mountain.

The people of Israel departed Egypt on the 15th of Nissan (the first day of Passover); on the 6th of Sivan, celebrated ever since as the festival of Shavuot, they assembled at the foot of Mount Sinai and received the Torah from God.

Tradition teaches that each of these days was necessary for the Children of Israel to refine themselves and be found worthy of this gift/mincha.

On each day they examined another of their inner traits and qualities and corrected them.

There were 49 in all.

These 49 traits were comprised of 7 basic attributes. Each of the 7 contained all of the other 7, thus comprising 49.

Jewish sources tell us that the soul of man includes these 7 Basic Attributes and represents the ideal balance of divine mercy and justice:

(This is not by way of recommending any connection to mystical Kabbalah or sefirot but simply taking the foundational scriptural characteristics as points on which to ponder in our hearts.)

Titus 1:15 Everything is pure to those whose hearts are pure.

Love/Kindness (Chessed)

Vigor/Discipline (Gevurah)

Beauty/Harmony/Compassion (Tiferet)

Victory/Endurance/Determination (Netzach)

Humility/Devotion (Hod)

Foundation/Bonding/Connection (Yesod)

Majesty/Dignity (Malchut)

As we fulfill the mitzvah of counting the days and weeks from Passover to Shavuot, all character traits derive from combinations of these seven basic ones. Each quality continually interacts with the others, and in so doing has the capacity to modify its expression and effect. To be whole, a character trait must incorporate all seven; spoken about in 1 Peter and Galatians 5:22-26 and 1 Corinthians 13

Ruach HaKodesh/Holy Spirit will only reside in clean Holy vessels. This is the time where we need to examine ourselves and prepare ourselves to be filled or refilled by the Ruach HaKodesh.

YHWH/God is calling us to repent and become Kadosh/Holy -Set Apart Talmidim/Disciples and become doers of the Word and not Hearers only.

Hebrew- Musar – Moral conduct, instruction or Discipline

H4148 מוּסר

mûsâr moo-sawr’ From H3256; properly chastisement; figuratively reproof, warning or instruction; also restraint: – bond, chastening ([-eth]), chastisement, check, correction, discipline, doctrine, instruction, rebuke.

Scripture based Prayer:

Psalm 51:7-13 Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness, Let the bones which You have broken rejoice. Hide Your face from my sins And blot out all my iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners will be converted to You.

2Ti 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; 2Ti 3:17 so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.

What Scripture was Paul referring to at this time? It was the Tenach (Torah, Writtings and The Prophets). The New Testament or Brit HaDasah/renewed covenant is based upon Torah principles. Everything the disciples taught were based upon Yeshua and His Torah. The more you study Torah, the more you will see that the Brit haDasha is halacha or teaching you how to walk in the Spirit of Torah in Yeshua. We are to live according to His standards, not the worlds standards.

We are to live BC not PC

Biblically Correct lives, not Politically Correct lives.

Torah means- YHWH/God’s Teaching and Instruction on how we are to live as His set apart/HOLY people in Messiah.

He is calling us to take spiritual inventory of our lives. Are we living lives that are pleasing to Him? It is easy to fool people on the outside, but He sees our hearts. It is our hearts He is after, our WHOLE HEART must belong to Him.

Psalm 119:15-16 & Haggai 1:7 consider your ways

People all over the world are discovering the wonder and beauty of His Torah and are repenting/Teshuvah of their Babylonian/Pagan ways and truly walking in the footsteps of Yeshua. He walked in complete obedience to Torah and made it very clear He was not sent to do away with God’s laws.

Mat 5:17 “Don’t think that I have come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete. Mat 5:18 Yes indeed! I tell you that until heaven and earth pass away, not so much as a yud (י†) or a stroke will pass from the Torah – not until everything that must happen has happened. Mat 5:19 So whoever disobeys the least of these mitzvot and teaches others to do so will be called the least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But whoever obeys them and so teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. Mat 5:20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness is far greater than that of the Torah-teachers and P’rushim, you will certainly not enter the Kingdom of Heaven! (Complete Jewish Bible)

He Is Calling His Bride to go to the Mikveh and get ready for the Wedding!

Mikveh = Place for Self immersion for purpose of purification and cleansing.

(II Cor.10:3-6).

Tells us we are not yet fully secure and complete.

as Paul himself wrote to the Philippians,

Amplified Bible, “[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually TRANSFORMED [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope] that IF POSSIBLE I may attain to the [personal and moral] RESURRECTION . . . Not that I have now attained [this ideal], or have already been made perfect, but I PRESS ON TO LAY HOLD OF (GRASP) and make my own, that for which Christ Jesus (the Messiah) has laid hold of me and made me His own.” (Phil.3:10-12).

Suggested scriptures below for meditating upon and as a starting place for each area to consider our ways.

Day 5:

Walk by the Spirit

Galatians 5: 16

Ephesians 5:8

for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light

Philippians 3:16-18

however, let us keep living by that same standard to which we have attained. Brethren, join in following my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us. For many walk, of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ,

Ephesians 5:18

And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,

John 2:24-25

John 15:4

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me

Day 6:

Speaking of Salvation

Titus 3:5 – Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Ephesians 2:8-9 – For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: (Read More…)

Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

John 5:24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.”

Matthew 6:9-13 “Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”

Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”

Matthew 9:6-8 “But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he then said to the paralytic—“Rise, pick up your bed and go home.” And he rose and went home. When the crowds saw it, they were afraid, and they glorified God, who had given such authority to men.”

Romans 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.  For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

Matthew 19: 25-26 “When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?”  Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

Day 7:

Remember the Torah

The Torah is the Way God commanded us to walk (Deu. 13:5), the Truth (Psa. 119:142), and is the fountain of life to those who keep it (Pro. 13:14, Lev. 18:5), just as Yeshua is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6) for all who trust in and follow Him. Indeed, the Torah is the very Spirit of Life in the Messiah Yeshua (Rom. 8:2).

Yeshua did not come to abolish the Torah, but to fulfill it (Mat. 5:17)—that is, to make it full of meaning both by His teachings and by His Life, Sacrifice, and Resurrection.  Therefore, we do not annul (cease to keep) the Torah through our faith; on the contrary, we uphold it (Rom. 3:31), for Messiah is the goal to which the Torah points (Rom.10:4) and it is not the hearers of the Torah who are justified, but the doers of the Torah (Rom. 2:13).

The Torah brings repentance to the soul (Psa. 19:7), for it informs us of our sin; that is, what is sinful (Rom. 3:20, 5:13; 7:7)—indeed, the very definition of sin is Torah-lessness (1 Jn. 3:4).  Therefore, the Torah keeps the righteous from stumbling (Psa. 37:31), for it is a light unto our path (Pro. 6:23), and those who forsake the Torah also praise the wicked (Pro. 28:4).

The Torah makes the simple wise (Psa. 19:7), and contains wondrous things for those whose eyes ADONAI opens (Psa. 119:18).  Blessed is he whom G-d teaches from His Torah (Psa. 94:12) and who walks in the way of the Torah (Psa. 119:1), for even obscure agricultural details in the Torah have meaning (1 Co. 9:9).

WEEK 2

Theme: Vigor/Discipline (Gevurah)

Day 8:

Reflections in the Night

Proverbs 3:24

When you lie down, you will not be afraid, when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

Ruth 3:8

It happened in the middle of the night that the man was startled and bent forward; and behold, a woman was lying at his feet.

1Kings 3:20

“So she arose in the middle of the night and took my son from beside me while your maidservant slept, and laid him in her bosom, and laid her dead son in my bosom.

Job 34:20

“In a moment they die, and at midnight People are shaken and pass away, And the mighty are taken away without a hand.

Luke 11:5

Then He said to them, “Suppose one of you has a friend, and goes to him at midnight and says to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves;

But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them;

Mark 13:35

“Therefore, be on the alert–for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning–

Acts 16:25 – 34

But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; and suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were unfastened. When the jailer awoke and saw the prison doors opened, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped

Day 9:

Discernment and Knowledge

Phil 1:9

Wisdom. Proverbs 2:10-11 for wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul; discretion will watch over you, understanding will guard you,

Fear of The Lord. Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. Job 28:28 And he said to man,’Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’”

Prayer For Wisdom and Knowledge. James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God,who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

Day 10:

Holy Fear –  Our Heavenly Father’s Discipline

Hebrews 12:5-6 “And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him.

Proverbs 12:1 “Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but he who hates reproof is stupid.” Experience is the only teacher that gives you the test first without having studied so there is great wisdom in the love of discipline, which I must confess goes against the grain of our culture however the refusal of discipline or reproof leads to stupid decisions; decisions which can cause us a lot of pain and grief.

Revelation 3:19 “Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.” At first reading, perhaps you’re thinking that this can’t be one of the most important verses about discipline but think about Who is speaking here; it is Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 13:24 “Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline

Day 11:

An Inner Search

1 Peter 3:3-4 – Whose adorning let it not be that outward [adorning] of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel; 4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

Song of Solomon 4:7 – Thou [art] all fair, my love; [there is] no spot in thee.

Proverbs 31:30 – Favour [is] deceitful, and beauty [is] vain: [but] a woman [that] feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.

Psalms 139:14 – I will praise thee; for I am fearfully [and] wonderfully made: marvellous [are] thy works; and [that] my soul knoweth right well.

1Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.

2Corinthians 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

Ecclesiastes 3:11  He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

Day 12:

Delighted Forever

Proverbs 8:30-31

Then I was beside Him, as a master workman; And I was daily His delight, Rejoicing always before Him, Rejoicing in the world, His earth, And having my delight in the sons of men

Proverbs 3:12

For whom the LORD loves He reproves, Even as a father corrects the son in whom he delights.

Matthew 3:17

Isaiah 42:1

“Behold, My Servant, whom I uphold; My chosen one in whom My soul delights I have put My Spirit upon Him; He will bring forth justice to the nations.

1 Samuel 15:22

Samuel said, “Has the LORD as much delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices As in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams.

Day 13:

A Self examination

1 Corinthians 11:28

But a man must examine himself, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup.

Psalm 139:24

And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.

Psalm 139:23

Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me and know my anxious thoughts; And see if there be any hurtful way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.

Psalm 26:2

Examine me, O LORD, and try me; Test my mind and my heart.

Psalm 77:6

I will remember my song in the night; I will meditate with my heart, And my spirit ponders:

Psalm 119:59

I considered my ways And turned my feet to Your testimonies.

Galatians 5:22-23 — “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

James 1:22-24 — “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like.

Romans 12:2 — “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind

WEEK 3

Theme: Beauty/Harmony/Compassion (Tiferet)

Tiferet – Beauty. This quality is also known as Rachamim – mercifulness.

It is also a symbol of PEACE because it represents the perfect BALANCING of the left and right sides, integrating love and containment . . . Tiferet is associated with Jacob” (Joel Ziff, Mirrors in Time, p.105).

Psalm 27:4 “One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple.”

Psalm 45:11 “And the king will desire your beauty. Since he is your lord, bow to him.”

Isaiah 28:5 “In that day the Lord of hosts will be a crown of glory, and a diadem of beauty, to the remnant of his people.

Isaiah 33:17 “Your eyes will behold the king in his beauty; they will see a land that stretches afar.”

Peace is the third attribute of God’s Spirit! Jesus Christ said, “In me ye shall have peace” (John 16:33).

“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27).

Paul also wrote: “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil.4:7).

Jacob was a man of peace. He was noted as a peace-maker

“El Malei Rachamim” Hebrew: אֵל מָלֵא רַחֲמִים,

literally.. “God full of Mercy” or “Merciful God”

Day 15:

Where and In Whom Do We Hide?

Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

In Him Scriptures:

IN THE LORD. Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

IN WHOM. Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the…

Day 16:

All in His Timing

Habakkuk 2:3 “For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”

Galatians 4:4-5 “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.”

Romans 5:6 “For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.”

Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”

  1. He Is Patient- 2 Peter 3:8-9.

  2. God Directs- Proverbs 16:9.

  3. His Timing- Ecclesiastes 3:1.

  4. Live For Today-Proverbs 27:1.

  5. Hope And A Future- Jeremiah 29:11-12.

  6. Wait Quietly- Lamentations 3: 25-26.

  7. Submit To Him- Proverbs 3:5-6

Day 17:

Windows and Portals to the Soul

Proverbs 30:17 – The eye is the window to the soul. It is often said “the eye is the window to the soul”.

The eyes do communicate various emotions. Wide-open eyes communicate fear, while a squint of the eyes communicates anger or disgust. Dreamy eyes are said to communicate love and affection.

The Bible does not speak of the eye as being the “window to the soul”, but it does refer to the eye as the “lamp of the body”.

The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness.

Some eyes show that the individual is a prisoner it is our job to show them the prison door is open…. Yeshua has set us free!

If the eye is the window into the soul, the pupil is—quite literally—an opening into the eye. The pupil acts like the aperture on a camera, dilating or contracting to regulate the amount of light coming into the eye. We all know that our pupils get smaller in the light and bigger in the dark.

Our soul to be the slave and servant of our spirit and.  Our spirit to be the slave and servant of Jesus Christ. That is what happens when you take 1 Thessalonians 5:23b seriously:

May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Genesis 2:7 – And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Ecclesiastes 12:7 – Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Deuteronomy 6:5 – And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Ezekiel 18:4 – Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Day 18:

Righteous, Zealous Faith on Fire

Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.

 Romans 12:11-12

Righteousness by Faith Alone.

Romans 10: 10 Brothers and sisters, my heart’s desire and prayer to God concerning them[a] is for their salvation. 2 I can testify about them that they have zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 Since they are ignorant of the righteousness of God and attempted to establish their own righteousness,…

Romans 1:16-17 English Standard Version (ESV) The Righteous Shall Live by Faith 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, [ a ] as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” [ b ]

God the Father is righteous (just); Jesus Christ his Son is the Righteous (Just) One; the Father through the Son and in the Spirit gives the gift of righteousness (justice) to repentant sinners for salvation; such believing sinners are declared righteous (just) by the Father through the Son, are made righteous (just)…

Proverbs 21:21  love life.

Romans 2:6 reward.

1 Timothy 6:11 | faith love

Day 19:

Talking With God/Communication/Prayer

The Bible reveals that God wants us to talk with Him and have a personal relationship with Him. But how do we do that? Communication with God is called prayer.

Exodus 33:11 “Thus the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend. When Moses turned again into the camp, his assistant Joshua the son of Nun, a young man, would not depart from the tent.”

2 Chronicles 7:14 “If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”

Hebrews 1:1-2 “Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world.”

Hebrews 4:16 “Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy

1Pet 3:12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer.

And the LORD said to him, “I have heard your prayer and your plea, which you have made before me. I have consecrated this house that you have built, by putting my name there forever. My eyes and my heart will be there for all time. 1Kings 9:3

Day 20:

A Sobering Reminder

1 Corinthians 15:34 – Become sober-minded as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame.

1 Peter 5:8-9 New International Version (NIV). 8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings

A Solemn Reminder from The Lord Jesus in This Time of Crisis; While it is daytime, we must do the works of Him who sent Me. Night is coming, when no one can work (John 9:4).

Day 21:

Shabbat Shalom

         שלום שבת

Biblical Sabbath is a weekly day of rest or time of worship given in the Bible as the seventh day. It is observed differently in Judaism and Christianity and informs a similar occasion in several other faiths. Though many viewpoints and definitions have arisen over the millennia, most originate in the same textual tradition of “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy”. Observation and remembrance of Sabbath is one of the Ten Commandments, sometimes referred to individually as the Sabbath Commandment.

Exodus 20:8-11 – Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but

Mark 2:27 – And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath

Exodus 31:13 – Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it [is] a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that [ye] may know that I [am] the LORD that doth sanctify you.

Genesis 2:3 – And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested

WEEK 4

Theme: Victory/Endurance/Determination (Netzach)

Netzach – Victory, Triumph.

This quality is associated with Moses, who triumphantly led Israel out of Egypt “with a high hand.”

This quality translates chesed, gevurah, and tefirat into bold action and accomplishment with power, energy, planning, and activity.

Gentleness and meekness are two of the fruits of the Spirit of God which seem to fit together. These also are defining characteristics of Moses. Why did Moses achieve such netzach – such victory and success? Because he was a man God could use and work with, a man to whom “success” would not “go to his head” and cause him to become puffed up in pride.

We read of Moses:

“Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth” (Num.12:3).

And David writes of the quality of gentleness, speaking of God Himself,

“Thy gentleness hath made me great” (Psalm 18:35).

He wrote, “It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect” (Psa.18:32).

The apostle James tells us:

“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality [favoritism], and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace” (James 3:17-18).

Endurance and Patience as Distinguishing Qualities of Character.

In 2 Corinthians 6:4-6, both endurance (hupomone) and patience (makrothumia) are listed among many qualities that demonstrated or clearly established Paul and his associates as mature “servants of God,” as those completely devoted to the Lord and His service and calling.

“Patience” and “endurance” are qualities that mark a believer out as a mature and devoted servant of Messiah.

Romans 5:3-4 More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,

Matthew 22:29 But Jesus answered them, You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God.

Determination alone is not enough for us to become more like Jesus. We need to be filled with the Holy Spirit and rely on the power of God but we also need to be committed or determined to hold fast to our faith.

Pray without ceasing to God.

That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. – 2 Corinthians 12:10

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. – 2 Timothy 4:7

May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word. – 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him. – James 1:12

Day 22:

Words of Transcendence

Transcend in the English dictionary describes rising above, going further, triumphing over, being more, or extending beyond conventional limits. When we use this term in connection with God, we are acknowledging and recognizing that He is completely beyond what we can imagine, understand or comprehend.

In relation to God, transcendent is the idea that He exists both above and independently from all creation. In other words, there is no other created thing that matches His power. In addition, nothing else can interfere with His power. He created all space, time, energy, and matter.

The “LORD God Almighty” (in Hebrew, El Shaddai) created all things on the earth, beneath the earth and in the heavens above,…

John 1:1 – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2 Peter 1:21 – For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake [as they were] moved by the Holy Ghost.

2 Cor 4:17 For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!],

And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, Hebrews 1:3

Is 55:8,9 For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord.
“For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Is 40:22 It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,
And its inhabitants are like grasshoppers,
Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain
And spreads them out like a tent to dwell in.

Jer 23:23 Do you people think that I am some local deity and not the transcendent God?” the Lord asks.

Luke 21:27 And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with great (transcendent and overwhelming) power and [all His kingly] glory (majesty and splendor).

Eph 1:19

Eph 2:7

Day 23:

Counting our Blessings

Scripture shows that blessing is anything God gives that makes us fully satisfied in him It is anything that draws us closer to Yeshua/Jesus. Anything that helps us relinquish the temporal and hold on more tightly to the eternal and often it is the struggles and trials, the aching disappointments and the unfulfilled longings that best enable us to do that.

Scripture makes it clear that God blesses us not so we can live with greed, but so we can bless others. God loves a cheerful giver. When He sees that someone is giving freely out of love, God blesses them more.

We are blessed to be a blessing.

Psalms 118:26 – Blessed [be] he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD. Matthew 5:8-12 – Blessed [are] the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Psalms 32:2 – Blessed [is] the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity,

“Blessed shall you be when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out. Deuteronomy 28:2-8 All these blessings will come upon you and overtake you if you obey the Lord your God: “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country.

Psalm 1:1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers ; “Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. “Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh.” 15.

Day 24:

Testing Our Heart

“And you shall remember all the way which the Lord your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not,” (Deut. 8:2).

I the Lord search the heart and test the mind, to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.

Genesis 6:5 The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

You shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams; for the Lord your God is testing you to find out if you love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul. You shall follow the Lord your God and fear Him; and you shall keep His commandments, listen to His voice, serve Him, and cling to Him.

James 1:2-4  Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.

James 1:12  Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

1 Peter 4:12-19  Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.

Proverbs 17:3. The crucible is for silver, and the furnace is for gold, and the..

Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfill all thy counsel. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Create in me a clean heart, O God….

Day 25:

Changes to our Character to match those of Yeshua

Character is important in shaping who we are and who we are in Christ.

Galatians 5:22-23 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”

Colossians 3:12-15 – “Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.

1 John 4:8 – “Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

Proverbs 28:6 – “Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than a rich man who is crooked in his ways.”

And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

HIS CHARACTER  – GOD NEVER CHANGES.

God Never Changes. so your future is secure and eternal. “Whatever is good and perfect comes to us from God above, who created all heaven’s lights. Unlike them, He never changes or casts shifting shadows” (James 1:17).

God never changes.

In fact, it is impossible for God to change.

The influences that cause change in your life have no effect on God

Day 26:

No Excuses

There is no excuse for believing there is no God.

So they have no excuse for not knowing God. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

Romans 1:20 For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities–his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

We should not be making excuses because they usually lead to sin. In life, you will always hear excuses like “ no one is perfect ” from someone who wants to justify rebellion towards God’s Word. Christians are a new creation.

In the Christian world, we can find all sorts of excuses not to obey God’s voice: “It’s the preacher’s job.” “It’s not my gift.” “I’ve already served, let someone else do it.”

Luke 14:18-20. – And they all with one [consent] began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.

Exodus 4:10-14. – And Moses said unto the LORD, O my Lord, I [am] not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I [am] slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.

Luke 9:59-62. – And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. (Read More…)

Jeremiah 1:4-10. – Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

In 2 Corinthians the apostle Paul is writing a rather personal letter to the church in Corinth and in the fourth chapter He is sharing with them why he preaches and why he continues even as he is getting older and is being persecuted more and more. He is telling them why he has no excuses for not serving God.

Day 27:

His Way Not Ours

Ps 18:30

As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all those that trust in him. Christian Standard Bible God–his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is pure. He is a shield to all who take refuge in him.

“Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known” (Psalms 77:19).

God walks on the water, but you will never see His footprints there. How are you going to know the ways of God?

Not by looking around.

Not by human ingenuity.

Not by reasoning.

Now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require from you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him, and to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to keep the Lord’s commandments and His statutes which I am commanding you today for your good?

Deut 10:12-13 and 28:9

The Lord will establish you as a holy people to Himself, as He swore to you, if you keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in His ways.

Day 28:

Sing a Song to the Lord

“I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations” (Psalm 89:1).

Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them” (Isaiah 42:10).

There are new songs to sing to the Lord every day because He is always doing new things in our lives to show His power and presence.

Sing to the LORD a new song; Sing to the LORD, all the earth. Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy. O sing to the LORD a new song, For He has done wonderful things, His right hand and His holy arm have gained the victory for Him.

Psalm 33:3 Sing unto him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise. Psalm 144:9 I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery and an instrument of ten strings will I singpraises unto thee. Revelation 5:9,10 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book,…

Psalms 5:11: “Let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy,…

Psalms 9:2: “I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.”

Psalms 51:14: “Deliver me from blood-guiltiness, O God, O God of …

We are saved because of God’s great love for us even when we were most unlovable. His unconditional love gives us a reason to sing of His goodness and grace on our lives. God expressed His love through the birth, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ for every person on this earth.

God has done and will continue to do great things in the lives of those who love Him. Our immediate response to Him is lifting up grateful hands and singing a song of praise. Singing allows us the opportunity to speak out about what He has done: broken chains of darkness, forgiven sin, and restored strength to those who are weak

Singing is a great expression of joy for the Lord and His wonderful works for us. Joy from the Lord can’t be restrained when we know and sense His presence in our lives. The world can only offer temporary happiness, but the joy of God lasts now through eternity.

“I will sing to the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live” Ps 104:33

“Sing to the Lord a new song, his praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you islands, and all who live in them” Is 41:10

Singing rises out of the essence of our souls. We don’t have to be trained singers or gifted in singing to raise our voices and hearts to Him in praise. Our thankfulness in the song will lift His name in the presence of saints and sinners. We never know how God will use our singing of personal testimonies to bring someone to Jesus.

WEEK 5

Theme: Humility/Devotion (Hod)

Hod – Glory. This is the quality that lights up a person’s face, the inner strength that causes the face to “glow” with confidence, peacefulness, serenity, dignity, honor, and majesty.

It is associated with Aaron, the brother of Moses. Aaron was noted as a “peace” maker, and a man of honor. Sometimes he went too far in seeking to be a “peace-maker,” as when he molded the golden calf for the rebellious Israelites. He sought to preserve the people in unity, so he fell into a spiritual trap.

Nevertheless, he was a noteworthy man of God, and a man of wisdom and inner strength. God’s word says of such a man,

“Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man’s wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the BOLDNESS [strength] of his face shall be changed” (Eccl.8:1).

God also says, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in UNITY! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments” (Psa. 133:1-2).

A key part of true “glory” is humility, meekness – otherwise hod becomes puffed up pride and false glory – vanity!

Humility is the opposite of pride, arrogance, and egotism. Humility is mentioned around 100 times in the Bible, and perfectly demonstrated in the life of Jesus/Yeshua.

Humility, like kindness and compassion, is not something we can acquire individually, apart from those around us.

The Pathway to Humility

“He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.” Deuteronomy 8:3

True humility places all the power of “self” in the service of God and neighbor.

Thus God takes hold of Moses’ weak tongue and strengthens him to speak boldly and plainly to Pharaoh.

And the humble tax collector throws himself on God’s grace when he says, “God, have mercy on me, a sinner.”

But humility is not only a great grace that needs to be developed in those that are young in years or young in the faith – humility is a fruit of the Spirit that should be the goal of all Christian men and women, however mature in the faith they have become, or however young they are in the Christian life – for God gives grace to be humble as well as wisdom, faith, understanding and holiness but He resists and opposes all those that are proud.

Therefore, humility is the right understanding of who you are before God. Notice, I did not say it means that you have to hate yourself, or call yourself names, or say you aren’t worth anything, etc.

Humility is that quality of a Christian that demonstrates a right relationship and position before God.

The Greatest Act of Humility… he that shall humble himself shall be exalted. —Matthew 23:12

Goodness is the sixth fruit of the Spirit of God. This also was a strong quality in Aaron, and a quality we must strive to inculcate into our innermost character.

David writes, “Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way” (Psa.25:8).

Jesus/Yeshua declared, “A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things”

(Matt.12:35).

Paul wrote, “For we are his workmanship, created unto GOOD WORKS, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them” (Eph.2:10).

Day 29:

A Psalm of Persistence/Perseverance

“The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all.” – Psalm 34:19

Persistence in any thing undertaken; continued pursuit or prosecution of any business or enterprise begun; applied alike to good or evil.

Perseverance keeps honor bright.

Patience and perseverance overcome the greatest difficulties.

Ephesians 5:19-20 by reciting psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs for your own good. Sing and make music to the Lord with your hearts. Always thank God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We’re resilient because we know God is on our side and trials that happen in our life are for our good and His glory.

Galatians 6:9 – And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Luke 11:9-10 – And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

Hebrews 12:1-2 – Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Day 30:

Growth in Grace

As soon as we put our trust in the blood of Christ on our behalf the spiritual growth process begins. The Holy Spirit begins to work in us and transform us. We become less like the world and more like Christ.

The Spirit helps us to overcome sin and deny the flesh.

Spiritual growth glorifies God in many ways.

1 Samuel 2:26. 26 And the boy Samuel continued to grow in stature and in favor with…

2 Peter 3:18. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 6:1.

Jeremiah 12:2. 2 You have planted them, and they have taken root; they grow and bear fruit.

2 Peter 3:18 – But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him [be] glory both now and for ever. Amen.

Hebrews 5:12-14 – For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which [be] the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

1 Timothy 4:15 – Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

Hebrews 6:1 – Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection

Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes. For you will spread out to the right and to the left; your descendants will dispossess nations and settle in their desolate cities.

Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind. Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation, now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.

Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress. 1 Timothy.

Day 31:

Testing God?

Testing God usually occurs because of lack of faith and when God doesn’t answer because you demanded a sign or miracle you doubt Him even more. Instead of testing God trust in Him and build a closer relationship by having quiet time with God. He knows what he’s doing and remember we live by faith not by sight.

There is another Hebrew word used for “test” in the Bible and it is nacah, which means “to put to the test, try, or tempt.”

This word is used in Deuteronomy 6:16, a verse in which God commands the Israelites not to test Him.

In general, people test God when they do not have faith in Him or trust Him.

Interestingly, the Hebrew word used for “test” in this verse is bachan, which means “to examine, scrutinize, or prove (as in gold, persons, or the heart).”

Just as gold is “tested” with fire to prove its quality, God invites Israel to test Him in tithes and offerings and see that He proves His faithfulness in response.

And Jesus/Yeshua answering said unto him, It is said, You shall not test the Lord your God. And Jesus answering said to him, It is said, You shall not tempt the Lord your God. And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God.

1Thes. 5:21 Instead, test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Day 32:

Born Again

Acts 2:38-39 – Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

John 3:3  Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

John 3:1-8 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.”

2 Corinthians 5:17  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

1 Peter 1:23  Since you have been born again, not of perishable seed but of…

Colossians 2:13 “And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses.”

John 3:6-7 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

When you are born again, you become a partaker of the divine nature (2 Peter 1:4).

God can become your heavenly Father. God can become your heavenly Father.

The greatest attribute of God is that He is a God of love.

The Bible says that those who are born again

“were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” (John 1:13)

Day 33:

Forgetfulness

Forgetfulness is a common, yet deadly spiritual disease. That is why God’s Word gives so much emphasis to calling us to remember.

Much of the burden of Moses’ message to the Israelites in Deuteronomy is warning them not to forget the Lord and exhorting them to remember Him and His salvation.

Sometimes because of the attack of evil spirits, many believers lose their original power of memory and often have the phenomenon of forgetfulness. Words just spoken are forgotten in an instant, work just done is forgotten in an hour, things just put down are forgotten before the day is over, and things just promised are forgotten in a moment.

The Bible says God will throw your sins into the sea of forgetfulness ( Micah 7:19 ), and cast them as far away as the east is from the west ( Psalm 103:12 ).

It is time for us to do the same.

In Mark 2:9, Jesus told a paralyzed man that his sins were forgiven, then commanded him to take up his bed and walk.

The main passage that contains the idea of a sea of forgetfulness is Micah 7:19: “He will again have compassion on us, and will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.”

Another verse, Isaiah 1:18, says that God will make our scarlet sins as white as wool.

David said, “Praise the Lord, I tell myself, and never forget the good things He does for me.”

David told himself to never forget the good things God has done. We also must make up our minds to never forget God’s goodness in our lives.

Deuteronomy 8:10-14 When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the LORD your God for…

Deuteronomy 8:2 And you shall remember that the LORD your God led you all…

Psalm 78:40-42 How often they provoked Him in the wilderness, And grieved Him in the desert!

Hebrews 2:1-4 Therefore we must give…

Day 34:

Confessing Iniquities

1 John 1:9 – If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Psalms 89:32 – Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.

Romans 10:13 – For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans_10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans_14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

Psalm 25:11

For Your name’s sake, O Lord,
Pardon my iniquity, for it is great.

But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God,
And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear. Isaiah 59:2

For I confess my iniquity;
I am full of anxiety because of my sin.

Psalm 38:18

Day 35:

Not Moved

Ps 62:6 He only is my rock and my salvation; my high fortress: I shall not be moved.

Psalm 16:8. I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

1 Cor. 15:58. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Smith Wigglesworth – “It is a blessed thing to learn that God’s word can never fail. Never harken to human plans. God can work mightily when you persist in believing Him in spite of discouragements from the human standpoint…I am not moved by what I see. I am moved only by what I believe. No man considers how he feels if he believes.

Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken. For he will never be shaken; The righteous will be remembered forever. The righteous will never be shaken, But the wicked will not dwell in the land.

Colossians 1:23 KJV: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and [be] not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, [and] which was preached to every creature.

WEEK 6

Theme: Foundation/Bonding/Connection (Yesod)

Yesod – Foundation.

This quality is the integration of both netzach and hod, and is the balance between power and presence. Joseph, the son of Jacob, became the prime minister of Egypt, and virtual ruler of the world, after suffering slavery as a teenager, and imprisonment for a crime he never committed. Yet after these harrowing trials he rose by God’s miraculous deliverance to an exalted governmental position. He is the embodiment and epitome of this characteristic.

Joseph by his suffering and continual growth and strength through contact with God, and His Spirit, became the foundation of the world, delivering the whole earth from the ravages of the most terrible famine mankind had seen up to that time. His wisdom and planning and spiritual strength provided a way to save his own family, and millions of others.

That solid foundation is the revealed Word of God.

The central focus of all Scripture is the Lord Jesus Christ/Yeshua HaMashiach

In 1:16-18, Peter boldly states that the apostles were not following cleverly devised tales when they made known the power and coming of the Lord Jesus/Yeshua.

Giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Matthew 7:24-27. – Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

Luke 6:47-49. – Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:

Luke 6:48. – He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

Longsuffering is the fourth fruit of the Spirit of God.

Certainly, this characteristic was well-illustrated in the life of Joseph. Despite his trials and tests, tribulations and suffering, Joseph remained faithful to God and worshipped Him through it all.

His long-suffering and patience and endurance in well-doing finally led to his exaltation to high office where he could serve in a much greater capacity.

Paul wrote: “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward. For ye have need of PATIENCE, that after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise. For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry” (Heb.10:35-37).

James added, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations [trials, sufferings]; knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing” (James 1:2-4).

Connected with this trait is the quality of “self control” – self mastery – which is also one of the fruits of God’s Holy Spirit. Self-control and long-suffering go together.

They are two aspects of the same quality – endurance – and constitute a “foundation” for true achievement!

Yom/Day 36:

Vengeance of the Lord

For it is the day of the LORD’s vengeance, and the year of recompenses for the controversy of Zion. Isaiah 26:21. For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

Romans 12:19 – Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.

Matthew 5:38-39 – Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: (Read More…)

2 Thessalonians 1:6 – Seeing [it is] a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

Ezekiel 25:17 – And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes;

For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the LORD. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but leave room for God’s wrath.

The Lord Jesus [will be] revealed from heaven with his mighty angels in flaming fire, inflicting vengeance on those who do not know God and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

They will suffer the punishment of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his might.

Yom/Day 37:

Entering His Eternal Rest

For he that is entered into his rest, the same also hath rested from his works, as God did from his. Darby Bible Translation

For he that has entered into his rest, he also has rested from his works, as God did from his own. English Revised Version

For he that is entered into his rest hath himself also rested from his works, as God did from his.

Heb 4:10

Hebrews 4:3-4 – For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said,“As I swore in My wrath,They shall not enter My rest,”although His works were finished from the foundation of the world

The rest God offers is an eternal spiritual rest which is far greater than living in the land of Canaan.

It is an eternal rest that is offered through the Good News of Jesus Christ/Yeshua HaMashiach.

We can enter into the “Sabbath rest” now.

God’s rest for believers still remains.

Only people who have faith will enter the place of rest.

It is just as the Scriptures say,

“God became angry and told the people, ‘You will never enter my place of rest!'”

God said this, even though everything has been ready from the time of creation.

We who believe, then, do receive that rest which God promised.

The promise that still stands, is the promise of salvation through God’s provision— Messiah Jesus/Yeshua. He alone can provide the eternal rest of salvation through His blood shed on the cross for the remission of sins. God’s rest, then, is in the spiritual realm, the rest of salvation.

Matthew 11:28-30 – Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Yom/Day 38:

Sing Out to Him!

It is so important to voice our love and praise to the Lord. He inhabits the praises of His people, so our praise creates an environment for His Ruach to inhabit, to live, to abide.

Don’t wait until you feel like praising… Start praising and your feelings will catch up!

Yom/Day 39:

More Songs to Sing

Start with a song you know or is one of your favorites, hum if you cant sing and then begin to let your heavenly language of other tongues express the love you have for the Lord in your heart.

1Cor 14:20.   Is 28:11

Day 40:

Prayer Assignment

Jesus/Yeshua demonstrated a pattern throughout His prayer life that all of us can copy.

Get alone –

Get quiet.

Read the foundation scriptures:

Isaiah 40: 3-11

and also Ezekiel 37:1-14.

Praise God

Enter prayer with worship, being thankful and hopeful for what the Lord is doing in your state and the nation,…

Pray in the Spirit.

God has an assignment for you that nobody else can fulfill.

God needs you.

He needs your gifts, your smile, your love, your passion.

You are a part of His divine plan.

You have something to offer nobody else can offer.

Nobody has your exact personality, your exact looks.

The lords prayer it’s all in there.

Our prayers should be based on scripture not on formulas.

Day 41:

Bless the Lord

Psalm (Psalm 103)

Psalm 34 King James Version (KJV) 34 I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. 2 My soul shall make her boast in the Lord: the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad. 3 O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. 4 I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

The LORD that made heaven and earth bless thee out of Zion.

1 Corinthians 14:16

Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

Day 42:

Obedience to the Lord

As obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance. 1 Peter 1:14(NKJV)

The wise in heart will accept and obey commandments, but the foolish of lips will fall headlong. Proverbs 10:8 (AMPC) For your obedience has become known to all.

Our obedience to the Lord comes from our love for Him and our appreciation for the great price that was paid for us. Jesus calls us to obedience. In fact, obedience to God is an act of worship to Him.

John 14:15 – If ye love me, keep my commandments.Luke 6:46 – And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

Romans 6:16 – Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Matthew 7:21 – Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heave

Obedience is defined as “dutiful or submissive compliance to the commands of one in authority.” Using this definition, we see the elements of biblical obedience . “Dutiful” means it is our obligation to obey God, just as Jesus fulfilled His duty to the Father by dying on the cross for our sin.

Exodus 19:5. 5 Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my… Deuteronomy 11:1. 1 Love the LORD your God and keep his requirements, his decrees,… John 15:9. 9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. …

WEEK 7

Theme: Majesty/Dignity (Malchut)

Malchut – Kingdom, kingship, royalty, sovereignty. This quality represents manifestation, the translation of energy into action and activity – and means literally

“KINGDOM.” Malchut is associated with the Shekinah – the “Presence” – of God. King David is connected to this Sefirah as he is the one whom God used to bring the Kingdom of God to fruition and accomplishment as a type, in his day. He was himself a type of the Messianic King, Yeshua – and the promised Messiah was to be born of his descendants, of his royal lineage.

If we will meditate on these attributes of God, and ponder them, and reflect upon them, and study them in the Scriptures, and spend time thinking about them, and considering HOW we might express them more fully and completely in our own daily lives – these divine spiritual energies will provide us a powerful tool to use to become the true SONS OF GOD in actual spiritual image and character likeness.

God created the heavens and the earth (Gen. 1:1) and his glory and majesty can be discerned in both. His greatness is evident “in all the earth” (1). The universe with its hundreds of billions of galaxies testifies to the splendor and awesomeness of God–but the universe itself is not God and therefore should not be worshipped.

The English word “majesty” comes to us from the Latin word maiestas, which means “greatness or dignity.”

In the Hebrew original of Psalm 93, the word translated into English as “majesty” is ge’ut (pronounced guh-OOth).

The standard Hebrew-English lexicon defines this word as, “majesty.”

Chronicles-1 29:11. Thine, O LORD, [is] the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all [that is] in the heaven and in the earth [is thine]; thine [is] the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.

Chronicles-1 29:25. And the LORD magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed upon him [such] royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.

Esther 1:4. When he showed the riches of his glorious kingdom and the honour of his excellent majesty many days, [even] and hundred and fourscore days.

Job 37:22. Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God [is] terrible majesty.

“Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all

After making purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, Titus 2:7-8

Day 43:

Turning Point

Every life needs a turning point.

Abraham found his when he chose to believe the promise of God. He just believed and was counted as righteousness/ in right standing/set-right-with-God.

Jesus/Yeshua in obedience, He brought His desires in line with His Father’s. When we reach the place where we are willing to do or accept God’s will instead of our own, we have reached the turning point in prayer.

Crisis means “a turning point for better or worse” in the progress of an affair or a series of events.

It is not necessarily the end, but a critical juncture, and the affair continues on.

In this sense, crisis indicates a turn of affairs, a turning point, in a person’s life. It may be seem to be the end, but, its only an end and the beginning of something new..

Nicodemus had a turning point in his religion. Nicodemus had to turn his back on all those years of learning and the influence of his people… but he did and became a follower of Messiah. The woman at the well in John 4 had a turning point in her reasoning. Sadly some people just don’t understand and it sometimes takes a life with the pigs to wake us up.

Job 37:12 – “It changes direction, turning around by His guidance, That it may do whatever He commands it On the face of the inhabited earth.

Day 44:

All the Nations

Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past, but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith;

For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensualit

God’s heart for all ethnic groups: “all nations,” “all peoples,” “all mankind,” “all creation,” “every creature,” “every knee,” “every tongue,” “men of every language,” and “the world.”

Ps 86:9 All nations whom You have made Shall come and worship before You, O Lord, And shall glorify Your name.

Psalms 33:12 – Blessed [is] the nation whose God [is] the LORD; [and] the people [whom] he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

Isaiah 60:12 – For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, [those] nations shall be utterly wasted.

2 Chronicles 7:14 – If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Isaiah 60:18 – Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders

Matt 28:19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Day 45:

Generational Blessings

The term ‘generational blessing’ is not to be found in Scripture. There are however, many references to a blessing given to Abraham that include his seed.

Matthew chapter 1, verse 1, says: “The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.”

This establishes Jesus as ‘seed of Abraham.’

Psalms 145:4 – One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

Psalms 100:5 – For the LORD [is] good; his mercy [is] everlasting; and his truth [endureth] to all generations.

Proverbs 4:10-27 – Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.

Genesis 22:18 – And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed.

Day 46:

Children’s Children

Numbers 14:18 – The LORD [is] longsuffering, and of great mercy, forgiving iniquity and transgression, and by no means clearing [the guilty], visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation].

Exodus 20:5 – Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation] of them that hate me;

Ezekiel 18:20 – The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

Deuteronomy 24:16 – The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children

Day 47:

Forgiveness

Mark 11:25 – And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

Forgiveness is not something that you say with your mouth. It is something that you do with your heart. Many people say they forgive, but they never truly forgive.

The Good News: God will handle those who have wronged us, for He does not let the guilty go unpunished.

God’s Character is Forgiving.

Psalm 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.

Psalm 86:4-5 Gladden the soul of your servant, for to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

Jesus Invites and Forgives.

Matthew 5:22-24 But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’

God’s Gift to All – The Only Way.

Acts 4:10-12 “… let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well.

The Christian’s Attitude of Forgiveness. Matthew 6:14 For if you forgive others their trespasses,

Verses on forgiveness are a reminder that God is gracious and merciful. He pardons the sins of those who repent and come to him seeking a clean heart. With Messiah, there is always an opportunity for a new beginning.

Forgiveness can be difficult. In our day-to-day people will do or say things that offend us, rather than hold a grudge – the Bible teaches us to forgive them.

Ephesians 4: 32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Matthew 18: 21-22 Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times.

2 Corinthians 2:5-8 Now if anyone has caused pain, he has caused it not to me, but in some measure..

Day 48:

Praise the Lord

Deuteronomy 10 :21 He is thy praise, and he is thy God, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.

Judges 5 :3 Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing unto the LORD; I will sing praise to the LORD God of Israel. …

2-Samuel 22 :50 Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name. —

Psalm 100:4 Amplified Bible (AMP) “Enter His gates with a song of thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, bless and praise His name.”

Psalm 150 Amplified Bible (AMP) “Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty heavens.

Day 49:

His Handy Work

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth the work of his hands. World English Bible The heavens declare the glory of God. The expanse shows his handiwork. Young’s Literal Translation To the Overseer. — A Psalm of David. The heavens are recounting the honour of God, And the work of His hands The expanse is declaring.

Ps 19

For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

Day 50:

Shavuot

SHAVUOT (PENTECOST) is one of the seven feasts of the Lord found in Leviticus chapter 23, and it’s importance is of paramount value, not only to the Jewish people, but also, to the Ecclesia. In the New Testament it is called ‘Pentecost’, due to the fact that its observance falls on the fiftieth day after the beginning of Passover.

Hebrew Meaning of Shavuot: “Weeks”.

Transliteration: Shavuos.

English Name: Pentecost;

also known as the Feast of Weeks,

the Feast of Harvest and the Feast of Firstfruits.

Western Calendar Month: May/June.

Jewish Calendar Date: Sivan 6–7.

Duration: One day in Israel; traditionally two days in the Diaspora.

Shavuot Torah Readings in a Nutshell On the first day of Shavuot we read from Exodus chapters 19 and 20. A summary of the content: The Children of Israel camp opposite Mount Sinai , where they are told that G‑d has chosen them to be His “kingdom of priests” and “holy nation.”

The reading for the second day of Shavuot is Deuteronomy 15:19-16:17, which deals with the laws of tithing, release of debts in the seventh year, the release of slaves every seventh year, and a detailed description of the three pilgrimage festivals of Passover, Shavuot, and Sukkot.

Then you shall celebrate the Feast of Weeks to the Lord your God with a tribute of a freewill offering of your hand, which you shall give just as the Lord your God blesses you; Leviticus 23:17

What a glorious destiny God has in store for those who serve Him, and obey Him.

Count the omer and make the omer count… in character, growth and development!

One day soon, we will shine like the sun in its glory, and endure like it too, as eternal members in the expanding family of God, forever and ever!

As you count the omer, make the omer counting practice really COUNT – for you!

Enter into the radiant JOY of counting the omer faithfully, and you will be blessed.
