In the Old Testament, or Tanakh, a Hebrew word that is used for intercession is paga.

One of its meanings is “to strike” and it carries the connotation of hitting the mark.

This is the object of effective prayer, to hit the intended mark.

This is quite a comprehensive content and is not meant for new believers to try and pray everything at once. Hopefully there will be some things within the page that will aid and bless the readers.

We are believers in and followers of Jesus the Messiah, Yeshua Messiach ‘ha-De-rekh’ (‘the Way’) the Messianic Messiah.

This is a simple guideline that has been developed for personal use over many years and is included as a starting point and an aid to learn verses pertinent to good confessions based on scripture. It does not cover everything nor is it meant to replace personal prayer, rather to enhance our communication with The Father. Some Hebrew is included too to help us learn some small statements. It is a very phonetic language and literally it is spoken just as you see it. When you say some words it does seem to make a difference the sound in the spirit!

Making the word personal

Making it our own

Owning the word

Praying the Word =

Prayers based on Gods Word, on scripture verses.

How to do the word

Take scripture and read it out loud make it personal by reading it in the first person with your name or ‘I’ in the verse. We are not adding or taking away from scripture but applying it to us personally let this mind be in you. Speak to the mountain…let my words be in you confess with the mouth.

Some examples follow and it goes without saying, these are examples and some can be said, or all, just as individual prayer times are of varying length.

Derech HaYeshua/Yahusha—this is a blessing to the Lord for our salvation:

Blessed are You, LORD our God, King of the universe, Who gave to us the way of salvation through the Messiah Yahusha/Yeshua.

Shalom/ melech ha ne’eman

Prayers… They are not just hopes and wishes cast up to heaven.

They are one of the key mechanisms by which God/Hashem’s creation functions. Like any mechanism, our prayers operate according to a set of inviolable principles — the actual “physics” of the spiritual world. Prayer is communication a two-way conversation.

Hakarat Hatov, recognizing and appreciating the good, is the foundation of Hebrew thinking.

Righteousness is showing forth the goodness of Elohim by acts of loving kindness.

Showing mutual respect, trust and love. Expressing truth, love, faith, praise and harmony.

Most important are Faith, love, trust and humility and praising Him for that which you witnessed today declaring always that His glory illuminates the entire world.

Speaking words in Hebrew, which is a spiritually uplifting ‘tongue’, which can relay essential spiritual frequencies , i.e. harmonic sounds that deliver health and vitality through the Ruach Ha Kodesh and have been mostly missing from modern languages.

So included are some simple Hebrew prayers.

We can begin each day by saying a prayer called, Modeh Ani = Thank You, God.

Modeh Ani: The first prayer in the morning

MODEH ANEE LIFANECHA MELECH CHAI VIKAYAM, SHE-HE-CHEZARTA BEE NISHMATEE B’CHEMLA, RABA EMUNATECHA

Psalm 20:1 The Name of the Lord defends you

Psalm 48:10                                                                   According to the Name of the Lord do we praise Him

In the same way, when we interface with the Almighty through His names, it is really the Almighty Himself we are communicating with, but we can only meet Him in His office**, as it were. His names are His office** – the place where we cross His path and glimpse a fleeting hint of His essence.

Holy Spirit = ruach hakodesh

El= elohim

Yud Hay Wav Hay

/EE AH OO AYE or YA HOO AH or YAH)

example using the names of God:

You are the Holy God (Ha El Hakadosh) of my salvation, (El Yeshuati), you are faithful (Ha El HaNe’eman) and you allow me to know you through your Word. (El Ro’i). Amein

For Eph 6 the armor of God:

Affirm and confirm that you have on your armor saying the following declaration: Your spiritual protection should never be taken off once it is in place. This is critical to remember and understand because if we are putting it on every day..when did we take it off and how long have we been vulnerable without it? It makes more sense to never remove it and simply reaffirm it is in place.

I have on the BELT of TRUTH through the Word of God which will continually defend me from ERROR.     (Loins)

I have on the BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS which continually defends me from being OFFENDED. (We are offended when we do or think something wrong opening the door to the enemy, we need to remain vigilant to keep these doors closed.)             (Chest)

I have on the SHOES of SHALOM/PEACE which only walk in places where Yahuah can go with me; this results in Yahuhas DIRECTION in my, life all day, every day. They keep me in the Way/Derek of Elohim. Where He guides me in all the Ways of His True Shalom where there is nothing missing and nothing broken and no lack of anything, no disease, no need of anything. (Feet)

I have on the HELMET of my SALVATION which the scripture reveals as HOPE. This defends my mind and thoughts from DOUBT or UNBELIEF. My mind stays focused on Him.                 (Head)

I have the SWORD of the SPIRIT, which is the WORD of GOD. This means I have the mind of Yeshua /Jesus and I only hear what He says rejecting DISCOURAGEMENT from any and every evil force.   It is also my offensive weapon to wage war on everything negative whose source is Ra.

(Ra is opposite of shalom)

I have PRAYER by praying always* by the power of the Holy Spirit who prays through me interceding on my behalf according to and in harmony with God’s will and so remaining grateful and avoiding resentment. Blessing Adonai at all times for His goodness, faithfulness and provision (Romans 8: 26 and 27 AmpBible)

I have covering me the SHIELD of FAITH/TRUST by refusing any ‘evil’ THOUGHT, that is ‘out of harmony’ with Adonai My mind and thoughts are staying focused on the Lord. As according to Ps 5:13 you Lord will bless the righteous. You will cover me with favor like a buckler* (Whole body)

A buckler*. (*Heb. ‘Buckler’ means, ’that which goes around’, a very large shield to protect the whole body on 3 sides. The Lord gives full protection).   His Glory is also our protection/ rereward behind us.

Or in other words we can simply say:

I have truth through the word of God which will continually defend me from any deception and error ( the corresponding area in the body here are the loins) the Scripture says that I am the righteousness of God in Jesus which continually defends me from being offended so I will not do or think something wrong and open the door to the enemy I will remain vigilant to keep these doors closed. ( the corresponding area in my body here is the chest) I live in an atmosphere of true peace/shalom and I only walk in places where Jesus/Yeshua can go with me this results in Jesus/Yeshuas direction in my life all day every day and it keeps me in the way/ derek of Elohim where he can guide me in all the ways of his truth and peace where there is nothing missing nothing broken no lack of anything, no disease no sickness and no need of anything. (the full definition of peace can be added in here if needed).I am complete in him (the corresponding area of my body here are my feet) I have my salvation through the renewed covenant in Jesus blood which the Scriptures reveal us hope it is a defense for my mind and thoughts against doubt and unbelief it helps my mind to stay focused on him (the corresponding area of my body here is my head) I have the written and spoken scriptures and I am filled with the word of God this means I have the mind and thoughts of Jesus by the power of the holy spirit dwelling in me and I only hear what he says rejecting all discouragement from any and every evil force that would have God is also my offensive weapon to wage war on the spirit of ra which is the source of everything negative and destructive. (this is corresponding to the sword of the spirit) I have prayer/communication with the Lord, by praying always, which means I keep my attitude and motives of my heart pure and unselfish before the Lord and I remain open to be led and guided by him at any time throughout the day. I have the power of the holy spirit who praise through me into singing on my behalf according to and in harmony with God’s will and so I can remain grateful and avoid resentment. I bless the Lord at all times for his goodness faithfulness provision protection (according to Romans 8:26, 27) AMP I have the blood of Jesus covering me like a shield which signifies the faith and trust I have in my father and I refuse any evil thought that is out of harmony with guard my mind and thoughts are staying focused on the Lord Father according to Psalm 5:13 you will bless the righteous you will cover me with favour like a buckler (corresponding area here is my whole body )

14And you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

In the Torah, Genesis, Elohim Created 7 separate Days starting with The Evening and then the Morning in that order. the first day was not a Monday it was Sunday and they did not have names just their order 1 through 7 and we are to rest on the 7th Day which is the only one with a ‘name’. The Sabbath Day, and it is one of the 10 Commandments. So obviously if we are not keeping the Sabbath then we are not keeping the commandments! True Sabbath is not the day that has been named Sunday by a king who worshipped the pagan sun god.

Here are 10 daily scriptures to learn and speak out:

First Day of week Sunday:

Today I will work hard to not let any corrupt communication proceed out of my mouth and only speak those things which edify and minister positively and gracefully to the hearer so that I will not grieve the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:29,30).

Because Christ’s Spirit lives in me, I can overcome evil with good, knowing that God is greater in me than all the evil in the world (I John 4:4 – Romans 12:21).

By being obedient to God’s Laws, I have put off my old nature and put on the new nature of imitating Christ taking on the very image of God (Colossians 3:9-11).

I will rejoice today because the Lord is with me to fight for me against my enemies and to deliver me (Deuteronomy 20:3,4).

I am confident in my God because He has redeemed me, called me by my name, and said that because I believe, I am His own (Isaiah 43:1).

Because I trust in the Lord, I am far from oppression and fear is not able to come near me (Isaiah 54:14).

Although things may not always go as I prefer, because I serve Him faithfully, God will make sure there is no lack in my life and all my needs will be supplied according to His source through Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:19).

I am encouraged to remain strong and confident avoiding discouragement because the Lord my God is with me to finish all the work being done for the Lord   (I Chronicles 28:20).

Because I delight myself in the Law of God, it produces in me godly desires, allowing the Lord to continually fulfill the desires of my heart, which He planted in there in seed form. (Psalm 37:4).

Because of my obedience to God’s Word, I am made to rejoice and this joy of the Lord Is my strength

Second Day of the Week Monday:

Today as I pray, I will desire that negative things be changed into positive results and pray God’s answer instead of praying about the problem (Mark 11:24).

Today I have put on the mind of Christ through God’s Word and the wisdom of Christ has formed me into a new creation without my old habits (II Corinthians 5:17 – Ephesians 2:10 – I Corinthians 2:16).

Because I believe and confess that good things will happen, God will even cause good to come from bad circumstances based on Jesus’ words if you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes (Mark 4:24).

I will not fear the reproach of men or their reveling because I have put the Law of God in my heart and taken the time to know and do the righteous acts of the Lord (Isaiah 51:7).

Each day I am increasing in the knowledge of God and strengthened with all might according to His glorious power (Colossians 1:10,11).

I am able to overcome the problems of this world because of the blood of the Lamb of God and the word of my testimony (Revelation 12:11).

I will stand still and see the salvation (deliverance) of the Lord which He will show me today (Genesis 14:13).

I am confident that because I set my heart to understand (study) and fast before the Lord that my words of prayer are heard the day they are prayed (Daniel 10:12)

I will live today for God because I will never have this opportunity again and because to not do so would be a mockery to God (Galatians 6:7).

Because the (shalom) peace of God keeps my mind and hear spiritually secure, I will constantly dwell on the things which cause peace including the giving of a good and positive report to others, things that are honest, pure, lovely, virtuous and things that produce praise toward others (Philippians 4:8).

Third Day of the Week Tuesday:

Because this day I choose to live according to God’s Law, no evil will befall me neither shall any plague come near my dwelling. He has given His angels charge over me and they will keep me in all my ways (Psalm 91:10,11 – Proverbs 12:28)

When I pray, I will not only hope for and desire things to happen but begin to say that I believe they are already starting to happen because God moves according to what I say as well as what I do and believe (Mark 1:23).

Jesus has given me authority to use His name to permit all that the Word of God permit and forbid all that the Word of God forbids in my life. This is both decreed in Heaven as well as on earth (Matthew 16:19 – John 16:23,24).

I will ask the Lord to give me a clean heart so I can speak good things because out of the abundance of the heart , the mouth speaks (Matthew 12:34).

As I continually read and speak the Word of God, my faith will increase until I live in an atmosphere of the spirit of faith (Romans 10:17 – II Corinthians 4:13

I am encouraged because it is my Heavenly Father’s good pleasure to give me the benefits of His kingdom (Luke 12:32)

I will joyfully pass every test because today the Lord has come to prove me, and I will not sin that His fear (reverence) will remain before my face (Exodus 20:20).

God said according to the covenanted Word of God, My Spirit remains among you (Haggai 2:5).

Today, I thank the Lord for His Word because the Word is God’s revealed will and the very nature of God (John 1:11).

I am confident that God has heard my voice from where I am (Genesis 21:17).

Fourth Day of the Week Wednesday:

Today when I pray, I will forgive all that come to my mind so my prayers will be answered quickly (Mark 1:25).

Because I have trusted Jesus as my Savior, I have wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption (I Corinthians 1:30 – II Corinthians 5:21).

Like Paul, I believe the Lord has given safety and blessing to all who are with me (Acts 27:23,24).

God has not given me the spirit of fear, but He has given me the spirit of power, of love and of a sound (confident) mind (II Timothy 1:7).

I am confident that whatever I do, the Lord will perfect all things which concern me (Psalm 138:8).

I am confident in my witnessing because of Jesus’ promise: fear not from this day on you shall catch men (Luke 5:10).

The Lord has pleasure in the prosperity of His servants and because I am faithful to obey Him, the blessings of Abraham are mine (Psalm 35:27 – Galatians 3:14).

Because I remain virtuous, the Lord will do for me all the things that are required for my living a righteous life (Ruth 3:11)

I am both happy and blessed in my works because I am a doer of God’s Word (James 1:22).

I will only speak the truth as I have been taught in the Word of God with love so that I will mature and follow the lifestyle of Jesus the Christ (the anointed and His anointing) (Ephesians 4:15).

Fifth Day of the Week Thursday:

Today, I will be obedient to God’s Word so that I will have a pure conscience allowing my faith to work (I Timothy 3:9).who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).

Jesus said, fear not, only believe, and you shall be made whole (Luke 8:50).

Today I am blessed and happy because I fear (reverence) the Lord and delight greatly in His commandments (Psalm 112).

Because I submit myself to the Word of the Lord the devil flees from me when I resist him in the name of Jesus the Messiah (James 4:7).

I will not fear the reproach of men or their reveling because I have put the Law of God in my heart and taken the time to know and do the righteous acts of the Lord (Isaiah 51:7).

I refuse to stop reviewing the Word of God daily because it constantly increased my lifestyle and causes healing to all my flesh (Proverbs 4:21,22).

The Lord is so involved in my life that every hair of my head is numbered (Matthew 10:38-41).

Because I am a cheerful giver, in return God will cause men to give unto me good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over (Luke 6:38).

Today I will trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not to my own opinion (Proverbs 3:5).

Because I live according to the Lord’s will, I am delivered from the evils of this present world (Galatians 1:4)

Sixth Day of the Week Shabbat/ Friday 10

I will not try to fight my battles personally, because the Lord has promised that if I set or prepare myself and stand still and see the salvation (deliverance) of the Lord, that He will fight for me (II Chronicles 20:17).

Because I have trusted Jesus the Messiah for salvation, I have been given eternal life and I shall never perish and no man shall be able to cause me to be removed from His protection (John 10:28,29).

Fear not, for I am with you and I will bless you (Genesis 26:24).

I will fear no evil because the Lord is with me and comforts me with His word and His Spirit (Psalm 23:4).

Because I am trusting Christ as my redeemer (Messiah), Christ has redeemed me from the curse of sickness, poverty and all the ills which fall on those who violate God’s Law (Galatians 3:13).

I will not fear nor be discouraged, because the Lord has set the land before me and today I will go up and possess it (Deuteronomy 1:21)

As I continually read and speak the Word of God, my faith will increase until I live in an atmosphere of the spirit of faith (Romans 10:17 – II Corinthians 4:13

I will sanctify the Lord by only fearing (giving reverence to) the Lord and not people or bad circumstances (Isaiah 8:11-13).

I will be both a doer as well as a hearer of God’s Word because those who only hear are deceiving themselves and soon backslide (James 1:22,24).

I am assured that my children are taught of the Lord and will continue to have great peace (Isaiah 54:13).

Shabbat Seventh Day of the Week Saturday:

Today my mind is renewed in the Word of God and my understanding is being enlightened so that I am not conformed or held in bondage to this present world (Ephesians 1:17,18 – Romans 12:2).

Because I have diligently studied God’s Word, the Spirit of Truth abides in me and teaches me all the principles of God and guides me in all the ways of truth (John 16:13 – James 1:5).

I am encouraged because of the Lord’s three-fold promise to: strengthen me, help me, and to uphold me in every crisis (Isaiah 41:10).

I will not fear because my God is my shield and my exceeding great reward (Genesis 15:1).

No weapon formed against me will prosper, because I depend on the Lord’s righteousness. Whatever I do according to His righteousness will prosper like a tree planted by the rivers of water (Isaiah 54:17).

As I trust God, Christ strengthens and empowers me so that I will be able to do all the things that He requires of me (Philippians 4:13).

Today I will let the peace of God rule in my heart and I refuse to worry about anything (Colossians 3:15)

Because I have trusted the Lord, I will not be confounded or put to shame either in my youth or old age (Isaiah 54:4).

I will not fear because the (angels) that are with me are more than they that are against me (II Kings 6:16).

Because I study and obey God’s Word, I know His voice and the voice of a stranger I will not follow (John 10:4,5).

At any time during the day we can say e.g.

Yahi Aur

Y’hee Or …. Let there be light…into what ever the dark situation may be.

Modeh Anee Elohim…. Raba Emunatecha.         Thank you Lord….Your faithfulness is great

‘Dayenu’   ‘It would have been enough’         This was the cry after the deliverance form Egypt and before they entered the promised land. We need a Dayenu heart with an attitude of ‘its enough’ ‘its more than enough, we have been saved from hell and the love of God is towards us forever. Open the eyes of your heart to thank God for how blessed we are…everything over and above your salvation is ‘icing on the cake’. Never want more than you have or you will never be happy or truly satisfied. If God gave you nothing more you would be eternally blessed. It’s an attitude of heart.

Protection Sukkot is a time when it is a more prominent prayer as it is a remembrance of when total protection and provision came by and only from the Lord while they were in the wilderness.

‘Adonai Elohim You alone are my provider and protector no construction of human hands can keep me safe. I praise you Adonai for even when there are no walls You shield me from harm and cause me to live. Continue to teach me Avinu to put my trust only in you and to remember the power of your mighty and outstretched arm. I bless you Adonai Elohim that I may continue to know your hand of protection.

Hodu et Adonai kee tov kee l’olam hasdo

Give thanks to the Lord for He is good His love endures forever

Affirmation that positive actions are made and acts of loving kindness are what we are about.
I will say and do something positive and uplifting to someone today.
Something good is happening to me today. I live in an atmosphere of faith and trust and expect miracles to happen.

YE-SAH ADONAI PAH-NAHV EH-LEH-CHAH V’YAH-SAIM L’CHAH SHALOM (May) The Lord lift up His approving countenance upon you (me) and give you Shalom/ peace, (tranquility of heart and life continually).

(This blessing is the role of the high priest. In the natural realm it was Aaron. In our lives it is the great high priest, Yeshua/Jesus who blesses us with this word. As believers when we hear this verse, he is blessing us with divine grace. His face shines upon us.) it is then to be spoken in the Hebrew language. Whoever says this is to have knowledge, understanding, and readiness for sacrifice and prayerfulness. There must be a commitment on the part of the one who gives this blessing. Notice that literally the positive   “well” is used instead of the “may” or just “the Lord bless” verse 24 contains just three Hebrew words. The translation is:

The Lord will bless you. This is two Hebrew words. The second word is “the Lord” and the first is “he will bless you” and speaks of material blessing, for life, health, and prosperity Per Deuteronomyr 28:1–14. The “you” is singular referring both to the individual believer and the congregation as a single, unified body.

And he will keep you. This is the third Hebrew word in the verse and means to guard your material blessings, to protect your life and health, to protect you against all evil, sickness, poverty, and calamity. Again the “you” is singular. Verse 25 contains five Hebrew words. The translation is:

The Lord will make his face to shine upon you. “To shine upon you” is the first Hebrew word and this word for Shine is also the word for light. It is a symbol of happiness, purity, friendship. God’s face shining upon you symbolizes the outpouring of divine love and salvation. Psalms 80:20 saying restore us o lord God of hosts cause your face to shine upon us so we will be saved. This represents the gift of knowledge and moral insight as well as friendship with God. In verse 25 “you” is also singular.

And he will be gracious to you. He will give you grace in the eyes of your fellow men. He will make you lovable and beloved in the eyes of others–believers. You will be respected by the world, applying both to the individual and to the house of Israel as a nation. The Lord will establish you as a holy people to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you will keep the commandments of the Lord your God and walk in his ways will stop and all the people of the earth will see that you are called by the name of the Lord, and they will stand in awe of you. (Deuteronomy 28:9, 10)

Verse 26 contains seven Hebrew words. The translation is:

The Lord will lift his countenance to you. This is for Hebrew word saying he will turn his attention to you. Again   “ you ” is singular. For him to turn his attention to you, lifting his head to search you out to cast his loving care upon you.

And he will establish your shalom. This is three Hebrew words and the word usually translated key of (give you peace) means much more than that. It means to set, to establish you in shalom. The law does not give it and leave it at that, but he sees to it that you are firmly established in shalom.

Shalom, the word normally translated peace, means health, welfare, security, justice, and tranquility, also freedom from all disaster. Hebrew scholar gave the best English translation of shalom: no good thing is withheld. Jesus gave us in this in John 14:27 saying shalom aleikhem. Shalom it cannot be translated into English with a single word. Shalom comes from shalem meaning to be complete stop when there is shalom there is tranquility just as sufficient food clothing Housing. There is divine health, with no sickness. Shalom means an absence of: disorder, injustice, bribery, corruption, conflict, flat, hatred, abuse, violence, pain, suffering, immorality and all the other negative forces. Therefore when we way for the peace of Jerusalem we are praying for the shalom Jerusalem we are praying that there will not be any injustice, disorder, strife, violence, poverty, sickness, abuse, accidents, homelessness, pain, anger, and more. When shalom rains there will be no where morality, no injustice. And the principles advocated in the scriptures will be followed by all and then the command to love your neighbor will be to make complete.

Ra (resh-ayin) Is the opposite of shalom. while Ra is commonly translated evil or wicked, bad is given as the first meaning. The dictionary does not express the real meaning in English has no simple meaning of the Hebrew word Ra . Ra is the opposite of shalom so it means that nothing makes sense fits. Chaos or anarchy of often used in translation because they may best expressed the meaning of Ra. Anarchy or chaos reigned when the children of Israel strayed a false gods, when the seasons of the Lord and the tides were ignored. When there is chaos in society the bullies take over, so might makes right. Corruption and bribery are common. freedom is restricted. Immorality is the norm. There is no order in society, no Justice. Sometimes in our lives we feel that even though we cannot think on it, there is just a feeling of things not right. That is the mild side of Ra. But the far end of Ra is when everything is wrong, as with an absolutely hopeless situation. In that case only a personal relationship with the living God can give you peace in your spirit.

This righteousness is our minimum standard and to go beyond the minimum is a great blessing that our heavenly Father rewards. Going beyond righteousness is called Ts’dakah in Hebrew and it’s translated as “acts of lovingkindness”

Derech HaYeshua—this is a blessing to the Lord for our salvation:

Blessed are You, LORD our God, King of the universe, Who gave to us the way of salvation through the Messiah Yeshua, blessed be He.  Amen.
