Why Is The Red Heifer In The News?

What is all the talk about the red heifer…

a cow with red-brown hair in Israel?

Readers may have seen the news reports from Israel about the ancient ceremony that requires the sacrifice of a red heifer.

In Hebrew parah adumah. פָּרָה אֲדֻמָּה

What is behind the mystery of the

red heifer – parah adumah – פָּרָה אֲדֻמָּה

What is it exactly

and

why is it important?

First of all we should remember that this sacrificial ritual given to Moses was applicable before Messiah came and when the Temple still existed. As Messiah was, and remains, the perfect eternal sacrifice for all sin and everything connected to that sacrificial system; these laws are unnecessary for Messianic Jewish believers in Yeshua/Jesus and also for all those who are the born again from above believers/ecclesia.

The attention to this red heifer and the need for one, is connected to the Torah directives/laws governing the Temple and for the covering of sin until Messiah came. The red heifer/cow was specifically needed in a ceremony whose ashes were used in the purification rites, for one who had been contaminated through having come into contact with a dead body; and to purify the priests before they served at the Temple to conduct the sacrificial rituals on behalf of the people. Since the Temple was destroyed in 70AD, there would have to be a new Temple built in order for these ceremonies to be performed; and the red heifer would be needed as a sacrifice to complete the preparedness of the priests who would serve in that 3rd Temple.

According to Jewish tradition, these instructions were given to Moses in the 2nd year of the Exodus on Nisan 1, the day that the Mishkan was first erected. However the instructions appear here at this point in the scripture because of the need to purify the people after Miriam’s death, which is mentioned in the following chapter.

This ritual is considered chok- חֹק- within the Hebrew/Jewish tradition, which basically means that it makes no rational sense.

It is an incomprehensible Mitzvah that could not be understood, a law with an unspoken reasoning, and is supposed to be followed with blind faith.

In fact the Jewish literature states that of all of the 613 commandments in the Torah, this is the only one that King Solomon could not understand, because this sacrifice is the most paradoxical of all the sacrifices found in the Torah.

However the symbolism of the red heifer is a clear foreshadowing of the sacrifice for the Messiah Yeshua/Jesus to deliver us from spiritual death.

The red heifer-parah adumah, had to be a perfect specimen that was completely red, without blemish in which there is no defect. The rabbis interpreted the meaning of being without blemish, as referring to the color of the animals hair, that is, without having so much as a single white or black hair anywhere on its body.

This is the only sacrifice in the Torah where the color of the animal is absolutely necessary as required by scripture. The parah adumah was never to have had a yoke upon it, meaning that:

it must never have been used for any profane purposes.

Unlike all of the sacrifices that were offered at the brazen altar, the parah adumah was taken outside the camp to be slaughtered before the priest, who then took some of its blood and sprinkled it seven times before the Mishkan; thereby designating it as a purification offering, in this case it was Eliezer, Aaron son.

‘Outside the camp’, meant:

beyond the city boundaries or walls;

and during the second Temple era, the Kohen haGadol-High Priest performed this ceremony from the top of the Mount of Olives while facing the Temple.

Then the red heifer would be burned in its entirety, it’s hide, flesh, blood and even dung were to be burned in the fire, unlike other Levitical sacrifices.

Recall the blood from the other sacrifices had to be sprinkled on the altar.

Also a hyssop,

a scarlet thread and

a cedar stick

would then be thrown up on to the burning parah adumah; these were the same items used to cleanse leprosy/tzara’at. In this process, the blood was assimilated into the ashes of the sacrifice, which would’ve been gathered and mixed with water to create the water of separation for the Israelite community.

The purification procedure took seven days using small twigs of hyssop dipped into the water with the ashes mixed in. Then it was shaken over the ritually defiled person both on the third day, then again on the seventh day. After the second sprinkling, the person undergoing the purification process would be immersed in a mikveh, and then be clean until the following evening.

Note that the word separation refers to menstrual impurity spoken of in Leviticus, and also to Zechariah 13:1. On the day that shall be a fountain open for the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to cleanse them from sin and from niddah.

Niddah (Heb. נִדָּה “menstruating woman”; literally, “one who is excluded” or “expelled”) is the practice according to Jewish law where a man is forbidden to maintain sexual relations with his wife.

Numbers 19:1-22

water of separation — that is, of “sanctification” for the people of Israel.

Anyone or anything that came into contact with a corpse, a dead body whether human or otherwise, it was the physical embodiment of sin and death. Every individual thus contaminated, was required to be purified using the water of separation.

Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel.

In order to prepare for their God-ordained purpose of being a kingdom of priests and ministers of God, they would need to confess their sins and avail themselves of the waters of separation.

It underscores the Holiness of YHVH and the necessity for His people to be Holy before Him.

The water of separation could be said to be symbolized in other places in the scriptures, food for thought as possible examples:

The main creation work of YHVH, on the 2nd day of His Creation, was the separation of waters by putting a vault or expanse between them. And God separated water above the sky and water below.

Genesis 1:6-7
6 Then God said, “Let there be a space between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth.” 7 And that is what happened. God made this space to separate the waters of the earth from the waters of the heavens.

Exodus 14:15-22

21 Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.
22 So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

Joshua 3:5-17 through 4:1-18 (NKJV)
5 And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the LORD will do wonders among you.” 6 Then Joshua spoke to the priests, saying, “Take up the ark of the covenant and cross over before the people.”  So they took up the ark of the covenant and went before the people.

The uniqueness of the sacrifice and the purification procedure took 7 days, a type and shadow of the creation in Genesis/Bereshit and of the 7000 year Salvation/Redemption plan of our Creator.

This sacrificial ceremony of the parah adumah is entirely unique for the following reasons:

It was the only sacrifice that specifically required an animal of a particular color.

This animal was an extremely rare and entirely unique.

Maimonides wrote: “9 parah adumah were prepared from the time the commandment was given until the destruction of the second Temple. Moses our teacher prepared one. Ezra prepared one and seven more were prepared until the destruction of the Temple. The 10th will be prepared by the Messiah.”

We would say… was prepared by the Messiah Yeshua/Jesus, as Himself.

It was the only sacrifice where all the rituals were carried out outside of the camp and later outside the Temple precinct. That means, the applying of blood from this sacrifice took place away from the altar. Jewish historians state that the high priest performed the blood applications of the red heifer while gazing at the Temple mount and at the Holy of Holies from a mountain opposite the temple mount.

It was the only sacrifice with a paradox, meaning that:

it contaminated the priest who offered it,

but made the one who was sprinkled by it clean.

It was the only sacrifice where the ashes were preserved and used for a specific purpose, when all of the other sacrifices required that the ashes be disposed of outside the camp.

Messiah Yeshua/Jesus is the perfect fulfillment of the parah adumah since:

He was completely without sin or defect. 2 Corinthians 5:21; John 8:46.

He was sacrificed outside the camp. Hebrews 13:13.

He made Himself sin for us. 2 Corinthians 5:21.

The sprinkling of His blood makes us clean. 1 Peter 1:2; Hebrews 12: 24; Revelation 1:5.

And the water of separation that His sacrifice created, is the means by which we are made clean from the impurity of sin. Ephesians 5:25/26; Hebrews 10:22.

Further reading in Hebrews clearly shows Messiah’s sacrifice is superior to the parah adumah – red heifer.

Who is the fulfillment of the types and shadows of the Torah?

Hebrews 10:1-2.

For if the sprinkling of defiled persons with the blood of goats and bulls and with the ashes of a heifer sanctified for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the Blood of Christ who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.

The truth is that

for sanctification, redemption and salvation,

a red heifer

is no longer needed and neither is a third Temple.

Messiah Yeshua/Jesus fulfilled all the Torahs sacrificial requirements. He said Himself in Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I came to do away with or undo the Law [of Moses] or the [writings of the] Prophets; I did not come to destroy but to fulfill, complete them.”

And in 1Cor. 3:16 Paul confirms that, every born from above believer is an individual Temple /Sanctuary of His Holy Spirit.

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?

Do you not know and understand that you [the church] are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells [permanently] in you [collectively and individually]? Amp.

The belief of the need for a red heifer and a third Temple in Jerusalem Israel, is what the orthodox Jewish people understand is necessary because they have not yet accepted Yeshua/Jesus as their Messiah.

What’s In Our Heavenly Fathers’ Treasuries and Storehouses??

A Storehouse in the Bible?

The meaning depends on the context of Scripture.

In the New Testament/Brit Chadashah

we read in Matthew 13:52

Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.

but what of our Fathers heavenly storehouses?

Does His storehouse have widows?

As His storehouses are in heaven then are these the same windows of heaven mentioned in Genesis 7:11?

The Hebrew word for

storehouse is

owstar or o-tsawr.

It means a depository, a treasure from

Strong’s #214. אוֹצָר (otsar)

It is also from Strong’s #686, which is

osar, a root that implies:

to store up, to lay up in store.

Phonetic Spelling: o-tsaw’

otsar: treasure, store, a treasury, storehouse.

Original Word: אוֹצָר.

The feminine noun מגורה  megura,

meaning: storehouse

is only used in Haggai 2:19

The feminine plural noun

ממגרות  mammegurot,

also meaning storehouse

is only used in Joshua 1:17.

The same Hebrew word for storehouse

is used for the Treasury in Joshua 6:24

Storehouse in another passage seems to refer to a special treasury-chamber of the Temple in Jeremiah’s time.

Strong’s Hebrew: 618. אָסָם (asam)

store, storehouse, treasure –

According to Strongs: H4543  מִסְכְּנוֹת

Here, Mahchesan is the Hebrew word for storehouse.

מחסן

warehouse, storeroom, store, depot, shed.

In Malachi 3:10 is the most familiar reference to the windows of heaven

“Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and try Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you such blessing that there will not be room enough to receive it.”

He doesn’t say you have to do it to go to heaven, to be loved by God, or in order to know the kindness of His mercies along the way of your life. He says that if you would like to see a harvest of overflow, of spiritual blessing, and provision from heaven’s sources into your earthly setting, then He’s calling you to sow by faith into the realm of His Spirit. Then we are to make up our mind whether we’ll do it. 2 Cor 9:7

7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of [a]necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. Obedience is the key and to obey what He tells the individual to do with a willing heart.

In the three places in the Tenakh/Old Testament the Scripture speaks of the windows of heaven,

The flood in Noah’s time Genesis 7:11 – The surging torrent here represents judgment.

In the midst of a famine 2 Kings 7:19 – In the pouring out of blessing from heaven, God increases the natural resources around us.

Spiritual resources Malachi 3:10 – God says He wants His people to sow in the physical realm in a way that indicates they’re sowing to the spiritual.

The Hebrew word refers to

sluice or sluice gates.

So we could understand that the windows of heaven are like sluice gates. Similar to those we see on enormous dams and when the sluice gates are opened, and out of the front of the dam there are gushing torrents of water being released.

The term sluice gate means a channel which regulates flow by a valve or a gate. Those resources are held in reserve until, by the action of the person who opens the sluice gates, they are released. The term also refers to the enormity of the resources that are behind it.

A slue or slew is something there is a whole lot of. The sluice is that:
great reserve that is behind the gate.

So this picture of

the sluice gates or the windows of heaven,

is

a reserve that is held and waiting to be distributed,

which is measured out by the person who controls the gates.

This simple picture has profound implications because our Heavenly Father is saying, that there is more than we can imagine, and it’s held in reserve in heaven.

The windows of heaven are the source and outflow of God’s blessing flowing into every part of our lives and every circumstance of our experience; and not just a reference to financial blessing. It refers to God releasing spiritual growth and increase in our lives.

Scriptures that speak of the windows of heaven:

The first line of the Bible states that heaven is created along with the creation of the earth Genesis 1. It is primarily God’s dwelling place in the biblical tradition: a parallel realm where everything operates according to God’s will, plan and purposes.

Isaiah 24:18

Then it will be that he who flees the report of disaster will fall into the pit,

And he who climbs out of the pit will be caught in the snare;

For the windows above are opened, and the foundations of the earth shake.

Genesis 8:2

Also the fountains of the deep and the floodgates of the sky were closed, and the rain from the sky was restrained;

2 Kings 7:2

The royal officer on whose hand the king was leaning answered the man of God and said, “Behold, if the Lord should make windows in heaven, could this thing be?” Then he said, “Behold, you will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat of it.”

2 Kings 7:19

Then the royal officer answered the man of God and said, “Now behold, if the Lord should make windows in heaven, could such a thing be?” And he said, “Behold, you will see it with your own eyes, but you will not eat of it.”

The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from them.  Deut. 28:8-12

There are storehouses in Heaven holding what we need, Our prayers unlock the storehouses of heaven.

And the storehouses of Heaven are full.

1Corinthians 2:9 says: ‘But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Yeshua/Jesus Given Authority by God

Matthew 28:18; John 17:20-23

The Only Authority to Open the Storehouses of God’s Grace  John 14:1-6; Matthew 11:27-30; Mark 16:16

Consider these points in light of Jesus opening the storehouses of God’s grace to salvation. Yeshua/Jesus Given Authority by God. Matthew 28:1

Yeshua/Jesus’ authority was given, as was Joseph’s, and was not limited. (ALL, IN HEAVEN AND EARTH) All should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him John 5:23. John 17:20-23

Yeshua/Jesus in His prayer for all believers: He and God are one – in authority, purpose, etc. We are to be one, as they, and one with them – in things authorized by them, word, deed, purpose, etc. The same was with Joseph and Pharaoh – what Joseph said was Pharaoh’s command, and all were expected to obey him. There are implications following this principle in salvation.

The Only Authority to Open the Storehouses of God’s Grace. John 14:1-6  There are things prepared for us in heaven, just as grain was prepared and preserved for the famine in Egypt. Only those who went through Joseph and his authority could enjoy the benefits of Pharaoh’s store of grain. Only those who go through Yeshua/Jesus can get to the Father, to heaven, where mansions are prepared for us. Matthew 11:27-30

Yeshua/Jesus will take the burden of sin away from our lives, but we must willingly take His yoke. v. 27 – The only knowledge of the Father and of salvation comes through knowing Yeshua/Jesus. He offers an easy yoke of rest from the burden of sin. Yoke is a symbol of subjection and service.

https://www.minimannamoments.com/the-answer-is-in-the-yoke/

Yeshua/Jesus is saying we MUST DO AS HE SAYS! Mark 16:16 Yeshua/Jesus clearly laid down the conditions of salvation. Joseph Opened the Storehouses to All Who Would Come.

Jeremiah 10:13

When He utters His voice, there is a tumult of waters in the heavens,

And He causes the clouds to ascend from the end of the earth;

He makes lightning for the rain,

And brings out the wind from His storehouses.

Psalm 135:7

He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth;

Who makes lightnings for the rain,

Who brings forth the wind from His treasuries.

Psalm 33:7
He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.

Job 38:22

“Have you entered the storehouses of the snow,

Or have you seen the storehouses of the hail,

treasures of snow

otseroth shalag

אצרות. שׁלג

Job 38:22:

People who live where it snows a lot may not consider snow as a treasure, yet the Bible says that there are treasures in the snow.

The word snow appears in the King James Bible 24x, describing various situations. Some of God’s richest treasures can be found in the snow.

The word treasure in Job 38:22

is the Hebrew word “o-tsaw”

which means: an armory, or storehouse.

Although snow flakes are very small, when enough of them band together they have the power to shut down an entire city. God can use something as small as a snowflake as a source of great power. Sometimes God will sends “storms” in our lives to bring us to a stop long enough to acknowledge Him.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

The English word “treasure” has in the Old Testament at least five somewhat distinct meanings as expressed in the words:

“treasure,” genaz (Aramaic) or genez (Hebrew), usually meaning “the thing stored”; translated “treasures”

in Ezra 6:1, but in 5:17 and 7:20 translated “treasure-house”: “search made in the king’s treasure-house.”

In Esther 3:9Esther 4:7 the Hebrew form is translated “treasury,”

as is ganzakh in 1 Chronicles 28:11.
Storehouse, not the thing stored but the place of storage; ‘otsar means depository, cellar, garner, armory, store or treasure-house. In several places it ought to be translated by some of these words.

It is the most frequent word for treasure, the English Revised Version and the American Standard RV both translated in some instances by other words,

e.g. 1 Kings 7:51, “treasuries of the house of Yahweh,”

so also 2 Chronicles 5:1;

“treasury”

in Nehemiah 7:70, 71,

“gave to the treasury a thousand darics of gold”;

in Job 38:22, “treasuries of the snow”

(compare Proverbs 8:21 Jeremiah 10:13Jeremiah 51:16 Ezra 2:69).

Treasure or something concealed.

There are 3 Hebrew words with this meaning and all in the King James Version translated “treasure.”

(1) Matmon, which literally means “a secret storehouse” and so a secreted valuable, usually money buried, and so hidden riches of any kind, hid treasures:

“treasure in your sacks” Genesis 43:23;

“dig for it more than for hid treasures” Job 3:21;

“search for her as for hid treasures” Proverbs 2:4;

“We have stores hidden in the field, of wheat,” etc. Jeremiah 41:8.

(2) Mikhman, treasure as hidden, used only in Daniel 11:43: “have power over the treasures of gold and silver.”

(3) Saphan, meaning hidden treasure or valuables concealed: “hidden treasures of the sand” (Deuteronomy 33:19).

Snow (probably from its whiteness),

Hebrew: שֶׁלֶג, šeleg (H7950)

Transliteration: šeleg

Biblical Pronunciation: sheh-LEɡ

Hail,

 Hebrew: בָּרָד, bārād (H1259)

In reading these verses there are many natural elements mentioned: rain, lightning, winds, hail and snow. Lightning/thunder initiate heavier downpours and in recent years we hear of thunder snow! Hail and snow are frozen rain.

The winds are referenced in Ezekiel 37:9

Then He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God, “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they come to life.”’

and in

Zechariah 2:6

“Ho there! Flee from the land of the north,” declares the Lord, “for I have dispersed you as the four winds of the heavens,” declares the Lord.

Zech.6:5 The angel replied to me, These are the four spirits of heaven, going forth after standing before the Lord of all the earth,

Jer. 49:36

Matthew 24:31

And He will send forth His angels with a great trumpet and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

Revelation 7:1. 1 “And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth,

Daniel 7:2-3, “ Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of heaven were stirring up the great sea.

And I have brought four winds to Elam, From the four ends of the heavens, And have scattered them to all these winds, And there is no nation to where outcasts of Elam do not come in. Jer 49:36

Daniel 8:8

Then the male goat magnified himself exceedingly. But as soon as he was mighty, the large horn was broken; and in its place there came up four conspicuous horns toward the four winds of heaven.

It is interesting that this book, the oldest in the Bible, contains more references to snow, ice, and frost than any other book of the Bible.

Job 6:16
Which are blackish by reason of the ice, and wherein the snow is hid:

The references to snow in Scripture are few, as might be expected in a land where snow seldom or never fell; but even though the writers may never have felt the cold touch of the snowflake on their cheek, they had in sight two mountains the tops of which were suggestive.

Other mountains sometimes lose their crowning glory, but Lebanon and Mount Hermon have snow all the year round and through the ages never lost that glory. The first time we read of a deep fall of snow in the Bible is when Samuel describes a fight between Benaiah and a lion in a pit.

“And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man, of Kabzeel, who had done many acts, he slew two lionlike men of Moab: he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow.” 2 Samuel 23:20.

To do great deeds in a time of snow, makes things a little more heroic as this is a time when it is more treacherous to move about and see clearly.

The snow is not fully recognized in scripture until Job is questioned by God concerning its wonders, saying:

“Hast thou entered the treasuries of the snow?”

In the Authorized Version the translation is

the treasures of the snow.

The Hebrew word means: treasuries or magazines

The treasures of the snow are in its treasuries.

Snow and hail, seem to be represented as having been created and laid up in great storehouses in the heavens or above them, from which God draws them out for the moral disciplines of His sovereign government of the nations which comes in the form of judgement for sin.

Vast accumulations of snow actually exist in various portions of the earth’s surface, but the fresh snow that falls is not taken from these treasuries, but newly generated by the crystallization of floating vapors in the atmosphere.

In Job, the snow is given a place among the wonders of the world, and ranked with the morning stars and the sea and the lightnings and leviathan and death. It is one of the things over which Job is told to meditate in his heart, in order to restore his shaken faith in God’s greatness, goodness and mercy. It is taken as one of the countless marvels that are available to all men, revealing the Divine Power that lives and moves throughout the universe He created, finding nothing too great for His guidance, nothing too small for His constant focus and care.

In Psalms there is an beautiful hint of a snowfall through the perfect stillness, and a marvelous storm-piece into which the snow comes with other elements.

In the Proverbs there is a passage, where the writer says, “As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so a faithful servant refreshes the soul of his master.”

Isaiah has a magnificent image of the truth falling softly on the heart, as the snow falls softly on the earth. Interestingly, there is not a word about snow recorded as spoken by Yeshua/Jesus; and it is only referenced in the Brit Chadashah/New Testament as a comparison, never as an experience.

The snow is a treasure in other ways as well. The winter’s snowpack in the mountains is often called “white gold” because of its indispensable water storage capacity, released in the melting season each spring to provide life to cities and irrigation in the desert.

Snow is no more than a form of water. It is simply the vapour of water in a crystallized form. Indeed, the term “crystal” found in most of the European languages is derived from the Greek word crystallos, meaning ice or frozen water, and was subsequently transferred to pure transparent stones cut into seals, which, as was thought, were produced only in the extreme cold of lofty passes of the Alps. The atmosphere is charged with watery vapour to an immense extent, and when the temperature is sufficiently low to freeze this moisture, snow is formed. When produced in calm air, the icy particles build themselves into beautiful shapes, each star possessing six rays.

The perfection of the snow crystals assures us that God cares for little things.

Snow has a special place in scripture because of its qualities and descriptive usage as a simile.

The first thing that strikes us about snow is its purity.

The snow is white because the tiny crystals of which it is made reflect so much light.

So much light is reflected by the snow that it often makes people snow-blind from excess of light.

What is the whitest thing in the world?

The whitest thing in the world is the driven snow, for this is not superficial, but whiteness through and through. It has been said that in all the moral universe there is nothing so glorious as the whiteness of holiness; the fine linen, clean and white, which is the righteousness of saints.

Its whiteness in the removing of our sins.

Although snow looks very clean and white, in reality it acts as a filter to remove germs and impurities from the air. It has a powerful cleansing effect on the atmosphere. Snow is actually formed around some matter already existing in the atmosphere like a piece of dirt, thus when it falls it brings this dirt to the ground out of the atmosphere. It still looks pure and white though. The dirt is hidden by the whiteness, and the air is very clean after a snow storm.  As the dirt has been hidden by the whiteness of the snow, so also our sins are filtered out by the blood of Yeshua/Jesus and hidden, being cast into the depths of the sea (Micah 7:19).

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.”

Nothing can wash away our sins except the blood of Jesus/Yeshua.

In the Scriptures, its pure white color is often used to symbolize the cleansing of a sinful heart that trusts the Lord.

“Wash me,” said David, “and I shall be whiter than snow” (Psalm 51:7).

“Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow”

the Lord promises those who come to Him for salvation (Isaiah 1:18).

Snow too has a wonderful power. Just one flake is weak, but what can the avalanche and glacier not do? Here In this apparent weakness is the hiding of His strength.

Another thing about snow is how silently it falls, and so many in number as to cover miles of countryside with them to over a foot deep with in just a few hours?

He giveth his snow like wool,

and like a covering of wool; God cares for all nature; from the seeds to the roots; all the burrowing and hibernating animals; He covers them all; giving His snow like woolen blanket. Won’t He so much more care for us?

Snowflakes are like feathers from the protecting wings of the Creator.

“His raiment was white as snow.”

Here are 3 visions:

Daniel saw him, when all the earth powers had vanished, approaching in a chariot of flame to take the seat of ultimate power and authority, while ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him, and His garment was white as snow.

The 3 disciples went with Yeshua/Jesus onto the Mount of Transfiguration, and while the cloud of “the most excellent glory” folded them in, they saw Him changed; His face shining like the sun and His garments “white as no fuller on earth could whiten them.”

John on Patmos saw Him in the midst of the golden candlesticks clothed in a priestly garment down to His feet; in His right hand seven stars; His voice as the sound of many waters; His countenance as the sun shineth in His strength; and His head and His hairs were

“white as snow.”

All this is to present His holiness.

The great multitude around His throne are ever praising Him and saying, “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God Almighty!”

This assurance of the glorious outcome is worthy of our praise and thanksgiving because His Word is doing its work :

“His word shall not return unto him void, but shall be like the snow which cometh down from heaven; it shall accomplish that which he doth please and prosper in the thing whereto he sends it.”

In God’s plans and purposes everything has its use; and just as every snowflake is under commission, so are each of us.

Even the forces of nature are called to obedience of them it is written: “Praise ye the Lord. Praise him from the heavens. Praise him from the earth. Ye monsters and all deeps; ye fire and hail; snow and vapor; stormy wind fulfilling his word!”

There are treasures in the snow that God would have us to see.

Snow is a treasure because of it’s provider. In warm weather these high and low storehouses melt and seep into the soil or release a flow of clear water into rivers, lakes and reservoirs - a vital supply for the needs of every living thing. Coming fresh and pure from melted snow, this water is more valuable than can be told. melted snow seep into underground reservoirs called aquifers, some of which are very deep and hundreds of miles long.

Psalm 148:8

Fire, and hail; snow, and vapor; stormy wind fulfilling his word: The word “treasure” can also be translated as “storehouse”.

It carries with it the idea of God

storing up snow, and

releasing it at His time and place of choice

and if God can release the snow upon the earth….cannot He release the supply of all the things that we need for a godly lifestyle?

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Snow is a treasure because of it’s unusual qualities. We know that there are many different shapes of snowflakes and there are some 35 general categories that snowflakes fall into. Under a microscope you could see some that are like needles….some like stars…..some like trees……some look like fishbones……some look like bullets……and the amazing thing about them is that no 2 snowflakes are exactly the same.. each one unique; just like His children!

We have similarities……but we each have distinct characteristics that separate us from everyone else. Our fingerprints are unique so too are our footprints. The pattern of our eyes are also unique from anyone elses. What does this say about God and how He has formed us?

Just like snow, we too have a designer. We are of great value. We are special because we have a creator that knew us before we were formed in the womb, and who knit us together distinctly from all others before us!

Like snow we are distinct, unique.

We are not only unique in the way that we look, but the purpose He has for each one of our lives is also. Like snow we have a destiny a very important place in His plan.

Snow has more of a purpose than just to make our countryside look beautiful.

If we can see God’s purpose even in the smallest of things like a snowflake……..without doubt God has a purpose for each of our lives!

Snow is a treasure because of it’s purity.

Psa 51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Snow has a powerful cleansing effect on the atmosphere….sometimes called

“wash-out or snow-out”

In His storehouses there is also hail.

Revelation 16:21
And great hailstones weighing almost a hundred pounds each rained down on them from above. And men cursed God for the plague of hail, because it was so horrendous.

 Exodus 9:18
Behold, at this time tomorrow I will rain down the worst hail that has ever fallen on Egypt, from the day it was founded until now.

Joshua 10:11
As they fled before Israel along the descent from Beth-horon to Azekah, the LORD cast down on them large hailstones from the sky, and more of them were killed by the hailstones than by the swords of the Israelites.

Job 37:6
For He says to the snow, ‘Fall on the earth,’ and to the gentle rain, ‘Pour out a mighty downpour.’

Job 38:23
which I hold in reserve for times of trouble, for the day of war and battle?

Isaiah 30:30
And the LORD will cause His majestic voice to be heard and His mighty arm to be revealed, striking in angry wrath with a flame of consuming fire, and with cloudburst, storm, and hailstones.

Ezekiel 13:11
tell those whitewashing the wall that it will fall. Rain will come in torrents, I will send hailstones plunging down, and a windstorm will burst forth

In Job 37:56 we read: “Great things doeth He, which we cannot comprehend. For He saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain.”

God’s bounty never stops at our mere needs, but He provides beyond our power to ask or think. There is not only the majesty of snowcapped mountain peaks showing His creative handiwork, but in more ways than we have considered, His hidden treasures of the snow provide so many benefits to us. We can truthfully say, “How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out!”

Final thoughts are some of the lessons that God would have us to learn from the snow…..and to remember next time we see those flakes falling…

God told Job to consider the snow, for He ranks it with the stars and the seas among nature’s wonders.

The study of snow forces us to think of the infinite. It leaves us speechless when we consider the works of His hands.

Let every time it snows remind us of the Storehouses and treasuries in Heaven and the treasuries of the snow, and let every flake remind us of God’s love for every individual.

What is it that YHVH/Our Heavenly Father values most or what is His treasure? Us His children and like the robe of Messiah’s Righteousness, which covers our dirty, sinful nature with a pure white covering, giving a soft beauty to our natures; creating a nature that will be accepted by the Father who cannot look on sin.

When we repent, Yeshua/Jesus’ robe of righteousness covers all, even the stains of sin, no matter how dark they are. He promised that we can be made as white as snow. We cannot actually see the robe of Messiah’s righteousness because only the unseen world can see the whiteness of it, however we can see the fruits, a loving and honest heart, and an exalting of Yeshua/Jesus and His Righteousness in and through us.

“God thundereth marvellously with His voice; great things doeth He, which we cannot comprehend.  For He saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of His strength.  He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know His work.” Job 37:5–7.

It is God who brings the snow and decides just how much should fall.  He is in control. We need to learn to trust Him completely. The unsaved and the wicked may become frightened with the various troubles on this earth, whether in the elements of nature, or whether from mankind; however it is all in God’s permissive will as part of His plan.. Nothing will touch His children except what He allows. We are as the “apple of His eye.” Zechariah 2:8

As the snow comes down from heaven, so comes the Word of God to ask the soul… have you entered the treasures of the snow…. have you asked Our Heavenly father to save us through the sacrifice of His Son Yeshua/Jesus?

Rain and snow are a gift from God to us, given to accomplish a purpose.

There are many treasures to be seen in the snow. God wants to wash us and clean us to the point that we are whiter than snow. He wants to cover us with His robe of righteousness. All we have to do is surrender to Him.

Do not delay—start today.

Right now.

We are the storehouse

of the Bread of Life

in a world that is spiritually starving.

We must open the doors of our storehouse

and provide food to this spiritually famished world.

What Is The Connection Between Blood, Gold & The Mystery of Beth Shemesh?

There are three parts to this mystery and we begin with

Blood.

Charles Spurgeon once said

“The Bloody Sacrifice on Calvary

is the only hope for sinners…….”

and its because

a bloodless gospel

is a lifeless gospel.

This IS the Gospel

the Blood of Messiah has been shed for us.

It is not preached or taught enough.

It is The Blood of Sanctification

Don’t let the word Sanctification cause us to stumble or retreat,

because the verb sanctify means

to set apart and

to make clean.

Sanctification is the process of

being separated and made clean unto God.

Heb. 13:12.

It’s not a quick fix, nor is it a pass to live as we please;

it is directly related to everyday life.

The Blood

and the process of

sanctification cannot be separated.

We are sanctified, set apart,

the ecclesia, the called out, set apart ones.

If we are still vitally connected to the world, we are vulnerable to compromise and stumbling.

Sometimes we have heard a message on a subject so many times we don’t pay attention to it in as much detail as we should.

We think we know what it’s about and yet we still do not have full or enduring victory in areas of our lives. We know of the armor but do we live with it always in place 24/7?

He is the Sanctifier –

The people are the object of His Sanctifying Grace

and the BLOOD, HIS BLOOD,

is the means of cleansing, or is the sanctifying agent.

This was His primary purpose.

Without Blood there could be

NO ACCESS

by sinful man to a Holy God.

This is critical to every believers life in Christ/Messiah/Mashiach. It is essential that we understand the meaning in its’ fullest sense and we must take the time to chew on this word and understand it, digesting it, and allowing it to be absorbed into our deepest innermost being. Only then can it impart to us His LIFE/chaim.

What was shadowed at the gate of Eden, on Mt Ararat, Mt Moriah and in Egypt was now confirmed at the foot of Sinai in a most solemn manner by Blood covenant.

Although the manner of application differed in the previous occasions:

on Moriah the life was redeemed by the shedding of the blood;

in Egypt it was sprinkled on the doorposts of the houses;

but at Sinai it was sprinkled on the people themselves.; not something they would quickly forget!

Moses then took the blood, sprinkled it on the people and said, “This is the blood of the covenant that the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words.” Ex.24:8

The contact with the blood was more personal/intimate and the application that much more powerful.

1 Peter 1:18,19

The word

atonement means

a covering

it is the blood that makes a covering for the inner man.

it is the blood which makes atonement for the soul.

Lev. 17:11

The Hebrew word is

כפר

kaphar

Kaf: Palm of hand, to open

Pey: Mouth, word, speak

Resh: Head, person, first

Strong’s Hebrew: 3722. כָּפַר (kaphar) — appease

HEBREW WORD STUDIES כָּפַר ‘kaphar’ meaning ‘to atone’ 3722

to cover over and to make reconciliation.

Definition. to cover, purge, make an atonement,

make reconciliation, cover over with pitch.

Think ark of Noah!

The pitch protected the people inside, making a water-tight seal,

and Messiahs’ blood covers our sins and protects us

from the wrath of God.  For more click link below

https://www.minimannamoments.com/what-is-the-connection-between-two-mountains-the-ark-of-the-covenant-and-messiah-being-thirsty-part-3/

The original meaning of this word is to cover, to cover over, or to overspread. The example given in Genesis 6:14 closely expresses the original meaning. Both the verb and the noun are used:

“Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch [kaphar] it within and without with pitch [kopher].”

As a noun kaphar is used to signify a place of shelter.

(Qal) to coat or cover with pitch. (Piel) to cover over, pacify, propitiate. to cover over, atone for sin, make atonement for. To cover over, atone for sin and persons by legal rites. (Pual) to be covered over.

Hebrews 9:22.

Phonetic Spelling: (kaw-far’)

Definition: to cover over, pacify, appease, make propitiation

The word atonement is an abstract word and in order to understand the true Hebrew meaning of a word we must look to the concrete meaning. If an offense has been made, the one that has been offended can act as though the offense is covered over and unseen. We express this idea through the word of forgiveness.

Atonement is an outward action that covers over the error.

Only the blood makes a covering which He accepts.

Bloodless coverings are unacceptable to God.

God did a miracle through Mary enabling His Blood to become a reality in His Son that could be poured out for us and redeem us from eternal death/separation from Him. This Blood is like no other before it or since; and has the power to remove the sin contained in ours from Adams curse. His life/chaim is in the Blood and it’s why it’s so powerful because unlike human blood it cannot die or dry up.

Why?

Because the chaim/life of God cannot die.

It’s an eternal source of sacrificial substitution and speaks continually, crying mercy – forgiveness; and this is why it will never lose it’s power.

As we are quickly approaching the Fall Feasts/Appointed Seasons of The Lord it is a timely opportunity to speak of the Atoning Sacrifice of Messiah.

Made for ‘whosoever will’ and whosoever chooses to, accept and receive His priceless gift of redemption.

Many books have been written and even more sermons and teachings given and most readers will be familiar with the Blood of Jesus/Yeshua and all that it means.

The Power of the Blood of Jesus/Yeshua is

that His blood redeems us.

There was a price against us that we could not pay, but the blood of Messiah redeemed us.

1 Peter 1:18-19 says, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things…. But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”

The power is in the Blood of Yeshua/Jesus, because Yeshua/Jesus, was the spotless Lamb of God, and because He shed His blood for us, we can be forgiven of our sins.

We can see the extent of this forgiveness and the effectiveness of His blood in the Scriptures. God, our Heavenly Father separates us from our sins by an immeasurable distance.

The blood of Yeshua/Jesus had to be applied

to the heavenly mercy seat

to redeem mankind.

If all of Yeshua/Jesus’ blood had soaked into the ground at Calvary, then the sins of humanity could not have been taken away.

Hebrews 9:12, “Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.”.

God was represented and was envisioned by Israel as sitting enthroned upon the Mercy Seat.

The term “Mercy Seat” comes from Martin Luther’s translation of the Bible into German, where he added to the meaning of kapporet by translating it as a location or “seat” of mercy.

The English term Mercy Seat is not a literal translation for the name that describes the place on which the golden angels’ wings touched and from where God would speak.

The Hebrew word is Kapporet

כפורת

and the Complete Jewish Bible simply translates it as

ark cover.

The High Priest in the Tabernacle or Temple Sanctuary appeared before God and offered the blood of animals for expiation/atonement on the Day of Atonement/Yom Kippur.

As our High Priest, Messiah Yeshua/Jesus entered into the reality that was foreshadowed by the Tabernacle and Temple.

Teachings and sermons on these foundational subjects such as the Blood of Yeshua/Jesus are few and far between today.

Many don’t like the teachings on the Blood, reacting squeamishly and look for something nicer and more pleasant to preach or listen to.

We MUST remember that

without the shedding of blood

there is no forgiveness,

salvation,

redemption or atonement

and we all remain dead in our sins.

It all begins when the blood speaks. Gen. 4:6-11

It was a witness against Cain, later, God instituted a covenant with Moses which we call the old covenant. Hebrews 8:6 tells us it has been replaced with a better covenant, through the prophesied Messiah Yeshua/Jesus.

Why do we plead the blood of Yeshua/Jesus?

It is to plead the Living Word of God. Jesus/Yeshua was and is the Living Word, The Word made flesh.

The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

Many of us have been pleading the blood without knowing what we were doing.

When we plead the blood of Yeshua/Jesus we plead the whole TRUTH of God. Messiah said I Am The Truth.

Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:16

The blood is central to the whole Torah, Tenach and Brit Chadashah. It began in the garden with the first Adam and ended with the last Adam in Jerusalem. Blood was integral to Adams fall, as God declared only blood could cover and redeem from sin.

Why? because the life is in the blood.

When there is no blood there is no life

and when life exits the blood, it dies and dries up….

all except the Blood of Yeshua/Jesus

because He came from the Father. His Father is The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob/Israel. His Father was not of this earth BUT His blood type came from the Heavenly Father, Creator and King of the Universe.

Because God is an eternal being, He imparted His eternal essence into the blood of His Only Son, by the overshadowing of Marys’ womb the Ruach/spirit/breath/nephesh: a soul, living being, life, self, person, desire, passion, appetite, emotion of God.

נֶפֶשׁ nephesh

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. Luke 1:35

The Ruach HaKodesh (the Wind of the Set-apart One) shall come upon you, and the Power of the Most High shall overshadow you. And for that reason HaKodesh (the Set-apart One) born of you shall be called: Son of Elohim. (Luk 1:35) The creative Power, Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit), of YHVH shaped this miracle of the Word that became flesh (Joh 1:1-3)

ἐπισκιάζω (to overshadow; envelope; [h/c]over over by presence)

The scripture says the blood speaks, it is alive and has a voice. Ables’ blood cried from the ground.

“What have you done? The voice of your brother’s [innocent] blood is crying out to Me from the ground [for justice]. Gen.4:10

The saints blood cries in heaven

9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? Rev.6:9,10

The blood of Messiah cries mercy for us.

Abel’s blood crying out for vengeance is listed all the way in Hebrews 12:24, pointing out that the blood of Messiah gives us mercy from the kapporet in Heaven where the ark is.

Revelation 11:19 Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and heavy hail.

They overcame him with the word of their testimony of what God has done for us, literally the gospel of His kingdom; and the blood of the Lamb. Revelation 12:11

John declared the prophetic had manifested…

Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

John 1:29

God came to save and redeem us in Messiah, and shed His blood to not only cover our sin but wipe them away forever. The blood does more than cover as it did in the old testament and it’s why we must not deny its’ amazing power.

We have sung the songs but do we truly understand the power in His Blood?

It is so important to understand that we must apply the knowledge of the blood of the sinless Lamb of God.

By pleading the Blood of Jesus/Yeshua we can enforce satan’s defeat in our lives and begin to live a victorious life in Him.

Isaiah 43:25-26 in the New American Standard Bible says, “I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake, And I will not remember your sins. “Put Me in remembrance, let us argue our case together; state your cause, that you may be proved right.”

When we plead the Blood of Yeshua/Jesus,  we’re making a confession of the

redemptive power

and mercy

God provided to us through Jesus Christ/Yeshua HaMashiach.

It is a faith declaration of His righteousness,

which is what makes us righteous.

When the enemy attacks us or makes accusations against us, we must answer him in faith using the sword of the Spirit/the Word of God; declaring what the Blood of Messiah has done and is doing for us.

Pleading the Blood of Jesus/Yeshua means we know and understand and have faith in the Blood of Jesus.  Then we can rest our case and be assured that things will be settled because of our faith in the Precious Blood of Jesus/Yeshua. Our faith in the power of His Blood is what we need to enable us to walk in total victory in our lives!

It is good to reaffirm that when we plead our case before our Heavenly Father, we can be assured that our case rests on what Yeshua/Jesus did for each of us when He died, was buried, and was resurrected from the dead.

He’s alive and has already won every victory in every area of our lives.

Our responsibility is by faith to receive that victory.

As the world grows darker, we are to be the bright light shining brighter. We are that lighthouse, the beacon in the storms of peoples’ lives. They see our lamp/light shining brightly and run to it and we point them to Yeshua/Jesus; Who in turn points them to His Father by His Ruach HaKodesh.

We need to be saved from ourselves because if we do not obey the light in us and walk while we have that light, darkness is creeping up trying to overtake us. We must take a serious sober look at the atonement; and focus more on the work of Messiah’s cross.

We glibly speak of our salvation but neglect to speak of the price.

It is free …

yet…

the cost is without measure.

Instead of easing off, we are to press in….

the day is coming when no man can work.

Think for a moment of our Heavenly father.

The scriptures say He is

Spirit

and Light

and Life.

He is not human with a corruptible flesh body like ours. We should try to refrain from aligning our physical attributes to our Heavenly Father because we will get a false image of Who and What He is. Because we know Yeshua/Jesus had a human form like us, we tend to place a similar image upon the Father. Yeshua/Jesus has now a resurrected body, a whole new thing never seen before! He says He has flesh and bone but does not mention blood.

“See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.” Luke 24:39.

There was no blood on Thomas’ hand because flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God and Jesus/Yeshuas’ resurrected body had no blood left in it. John 20:27

We have seen from scripture that He poured out His blood at Calvary and upon the kapporet/mercy seat in Heavens throne room, where the Ark of the Covenant is. If He and the Father are one, then this blood was indeed The Fathers blood!

Angels have no blood because they have no flesh. Ps. 139:14

They are spirit and have only spiritual life; and why they were amazed at our creation…

What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor. Ps.8:4-6

But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.  Job 32:8.

This is possibly because life itself is spiritual

but

must have a physical carrier and this carrier is the blood.

The contact between the divine and the human rests in the blood stream and its capacity to carry the life of God.

When we leave this realm we will be similar to angels:

For when they shall rise from the dead, they neither marry, nor are given in marriage; but are as the angels which are in heaven. Mark 12:25

I am the Life..

God imparted His own chaim/ life into the bloodstream of Yeshua/Jesus. The blood that flowed in His veins was perfect.

It was not contaminated by Adams sin which brought sickness and sin into human blood. If Adam had not sinned he would not have died. Jesus/Yeshuas’ perfect blood gave Him the title of the last Adam.

We are pleading the reality of the light of God which we received at the new birth when we were overshadowed by His Ruach. And His blood cleanses us so that the light of that life in us is part of Himself.

Christ in us the hope of glory. Col. 1:27

We are covered with the righteousness of Messiah – a robe of righteousness. That robe is really the blood which He shed for us and we are covered – this is our covering. No man or church denomination can cover us as Yeshua/Jesus blood does. God’s life/chaim is light. Jesus/Yeshua said John 8:12 I am the light of the world.

We read in Leviticus 17:11 that the life of all human flesh is in the blood. That is where Adam’s life was in Genesis 2:7, where he was formed out of the dust of the ground. Man had a body but it was not living, not alive, there was no life in it. Out of His divine being where all life originated,

God breathed into man’s nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul.

So follow it through, if God breathed into man the breath of life and if the life is in the blood, then there must be some relationship between what God breathed into man and into our blood?

Blood is charged with air/ oxygen so as we breathe there is a close relationship between our nostrils and our blood stream.

The air we breathe in is oxygen which goes directly into our blood. With every breath our blood is charged with oxygen. Adam’s first breath came directly from God, it went straight into his nostrils inflated his lungs and charged his blood with the chaim/life and nature of God. Adam became a living soul when God’s life began pumping through his veins. Was that life, eternal life, the same that flows from The throne of God?

Red corpuscles are alive because of the life/chaim of God in the blood. With sin came, death and was passed down to every man in his blood. So we are all born in sin. After the likeness of Adam’s transgression/sin.

John 1:1 – 5,9

Gods’ life was light James 1:17 that life went into Adam’s blood and brought light. Matthew 6:22 the eyes are the light of the soul he had the spark of life in him. We are redeemed from the curse which was in our blood. Do we have His light in our blood?

Gabriel told Mary the Holy thing within you was conceived by God’s Spirit of Holiness. We see visible light around us every day but there is also invisible light. It’s known as infrared light and ultraviolet light which are not visible to the human eye. We have to understand that for the most part the Kingdom of God is invisible to us because it is beyond the spectrum of human vision. But it is there and that light is known in the spirit world. John 8:12

When Jesus/Yeshua said I am the light of the world he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life.

Is it possible He was not just talking about light but was also talking about the blood because He said that anyone who followed Him would have the

light of life.

Then He said ye are the light of the world,

so we became the light of life carriers.

He had the light of life and that

life was in His veins because

the Life of all flesh is in the blood.

Yeshua/Jesus’s life was in His blood and

His light was in His blood

also blood and light go to together

just as blood and life go together?!

God breathed of Himself into Adam

He had to breathe life into him.

1John 1: 5-7

5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

Here light and blood are in the same portion of scripture.

Light is divine energy – the light of life.

His life was the light of men – these are not just nice statements they are deeply revelatory in their content.

Was it

Truth, Word, Life and Light

that was pumping through Yeshua/Jesus veins?

Is that why we plead the blood of Yeshua/Jesus…

because it covers everything?

Col 1: 12 – 14 the word redemption could also be translated deliverance. In the translation from the Latin Vulgate in the light of the Hebrew and Greek originals by Ronald Knox reads in the son of God in his blood we find the redemption that sets us free from our sins. Col 1 :13 we were translated out of darkness into light by the blood because the light was in the blood. By the blood of Jesus we have redemption col 1:15 16

When He breathed on the disciples,

He was breathing life/chaim and light/or into them.

The word translated “He breathed” is emphusaō, which is related to the Hebrew word for breath or spirit (nephesh).

John 20:21 Again Jesus said to them, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent Me, so also I am sending you.” 22 When He had said this, He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. 23 If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you withhold forgiveness from anyone, it is withheld.

If we are sanctified and set apart, then our blood is cleansed from sin both original sin through Adam, and our own sins. We are also the LIGHT of His LIFE that the world will see, carriers of His mercy and  forgiveness!

The work was completed by Messiah as He shed His sinless blood at Calvary as the spotless, sacrificial Lamb of God.

1Peter 1:18, 19

and then He ascended to the Father to place

His blood on the Mercy seat/kapporet in the heavenlies.

Conclusion in part 2 and as we come towards Yom Kippur this season, let’s remember what the

Look Up – Bethlehem Star? Or An Angel? or A Sign?

In Biblical imagery, stars are symbols of angels.

In Revelation 1:20, 12:4 angels were symbolically called stars and also in several other places in the Bible;

for example Job 38:7

Stars –

The angels, who may well be called morning – stars, because of their excellent lustre and glory.

Sons of God –

The angels called the sons of God, maybe because they had their whole being from him, and because they were made partakers of his Divine and glorious image.

The stars seen in our heaven symbolically represent these created spiritual beings called angels who according to these verses are named.

They are Messengers sent by God:

The ones we are familiar with are:

(Luke 1:19, Rev 9:11)

Names mean something:

Gabriel means “Man of God”

From the Hebrew name גַבְרִיאֵל (Gavri’el) meaning “God is my strong man”, derived from גֶּבֶר ( gever) meaning “strong man, hero” and אֵל ( ‘el) meaning “God”.

Gabriel is an archangel in Hebrew tradition, often appearing as a messenger of God.

In the Old Testament he is sent to interpret the visions of the prophet Daniel, while

in the New Testament he serves as the announcer of the births of John to Zechariah and Jesus/Yeshua to Mary.

Michael means “Who is Like God”

Michael is an archangel .

An archangel (from Greek) is an angel of high rank.

The meaning of Mi•cha•el in Hebrew is

commonly translated

“who is like God?”

but, more accurately,

the name denotes an inquiry after the identity of God:

Who’s God? or What’s God Like?

They are called Princes those who rule under the King. Daniel 10:13

They Stand in the Presence of God. Luke 1:19

Can make people dumb. Luke 1:20

Strong’s Hebrew: 4397. מַלְאָך (malak) — a messenger

Malak

מֲלְאָךְ

Angel/Messenger/Sent One: malak

Sounds like: mal-awk

Luke 2:8-14 And there were shepherds residing in

מֲלְאָךְ

So the question is what did the Magi/Wise Men really see and follow?

What manner of Messenger was this?

They saw His Star in the eastern Sky.

What was it, an angel, a comet or a star/planet alignment?

Its not that this knowledge is critical to our salvation or our continuing walk with Messiah. It was simply a question in connection with the fact that there is much discussion concerning the upcoming planetary alignment on 21st Dec. 2020.

The scientific community and amateur astronomers are buzzing with excitement and being of a curious nature it seemed worth a closer look.

Notwithstanding there have been numerous signs and occurrences in the heavens this year. The cycle of life is continuing as promised by our creator that while the earth remain there will be seedtime and harvest.

As we are told in scripture that

Following are some facts and some information and some things to think and ponder on as we are coming up to the winter equinox date.

This terminology is not new, just a designation, a name; saying it is a divider of the months into 4 sections which make up the 4 seasons.

Dec. 21st is the darkest day because it has the shortest number of daylight hours; and we are making the turn towards the daytime/ daylight hours increasing which is always good!

The winter solstice is in the Northern Hemisphere, the longest night of the year; and the summer solstice in the Southern Hemisphere.

Having read some of the material and watching some of the short videos on this celestial event with Jupiter and Saturn it is worth a short focus of our attention primarily because it is being called the Christmas or Bethlehem star.

This rare event will occur in the night sky… And it has not been seen in over eight centuries

For star gazers and astronomers and those who just simply like to look at the night sky it is quite an event because.

On this date, Jupiter and Saturn, the two largest planets in our solar system will conjunct to form what’s sometimes referred to as the Christmas Star or

the Star of Bethlehem.

So on the day of the start of the winter solstice, the two planets will appear to form a double planet in an extremely rare event that was last seen 800 years ago.

It will be the closest Jupiter-Saturn pairing since July 1623, when the two planets appeared a little nearer. This conjunction was almost impossible to see, however, because of its closeness to the sun.

Considerably closer and in plain view was the March 1226 conjunction of the two planets—when Genghis Khan was surging through the nations and conquering Asia and Europe was pre Renaissance.

Monday 21st December 2020’s conjunction will be the closest pairing that is visible since then.

Many believe this same conjunction may have appeared like one huge star when in fact it is 2 planets appearing very close together from our view point here on earth.

However, the one coming up is especially close: Jupiter and Saturn will be just one-tenth of a degree apart from our perspective or about one-fifth the width of a full moon.

They should be easily visible around the world a little after sunset, weather permitting. Look to the sky shortly after sunset, looking to the southwest fairly low on the horizon. Saturn will be the smaller, fainter light at Jupiter’s upper right.

Binoculars will be needed to separate the two planets.

Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020 photo made available by NASA, Saturn, top, and Jupiter, below, are seen after sunset from Shenandoah National Park in Luray, Va.

The two planets are drawing closer to each other in the sky as they head towards a great conjunction on Monday, Dec. 21, where the two giant planets will appear a tenth of a degree apart. (Bill Ingalls/NASA via AP) (Picture below).

So, amazingly everyone, wherever you are on earth, will see it and it was a reminder of the scripture in Matt. 24:39.

Then will appear the Sign of the Son of Man in the sky; and then will all the nations of the earth lament, when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky with great power and glory.

It makes one wonder, is the Bethlehem star, or whatever that was, alignment or comet; is the same phenomena that heralded His first coming to the wise men, returning prior to Messiahs return?

Whatever they saw, it made them take notice and seek out who this King was; and they journeyed until they found Him. This is true today that those who diligently seek Him will find Him.

Rare ‘Star of Bethlehem’ appears on Dec. 21. Here’s what astronomy says about the biblical star at Christ’s Birth.

There are many theories about the identity of the biblical star of Bethlehem that appeared at Christ’s birth.

The most accepted theory finds the planet Jupiter to be part of that star.

In the ancient world,

all heavenly bodies

were considered stars.

The Magi or the wise men were, most likely, court advisers to Babylon who used the stars to give guidance to the ruler.

Included at the end are some short 6-9 min videos with some pertinent information.

As always, whatever man’s opinions may be; we must always test them by the Word of God.

The Bible does not say how many wise men but lists 3 gifts

of gold, frankincense and myrrh.. so 3 became the number!

One ancient Jewish writer Philo speaks of them and describes a particular school of Magi, calling it the Eastern school, and says they understood the natural order of things and were able to explain that natural order to others and according to Philo, probably what we might call proto-scientists.

Here is one very feasible explanation:

As Early church historians had been giving a date of around

3 BC for Messiah/Christ’s birth,

though other scholars had been saying 7 BC

because of what appears to be a misunderstanding of King Herod’s death in between those two dates.

What the Magi likely saw were

five astronomical conjunctions

that took place over a span of time from

August of 3 BC to June of 2 BC.

When one planet passes another and, as seen from earth,

they line up –

that would have been of great significance to these astrologer-advisers.

We now know what these conjunctions meant to these Magi as they would have observed from their far-off land. The conjunctions involved the constellation Leo the Lion, the planet Venus, the planet Jupiter and the star Regulus.

To the Babylonians,

the lion/leo constellation represented Israel.

Venus was motherhood.

Jupiter stood for fatherhood or kingship.

Regulus symbolized royalty.

The Magi put these together and in their Babylonian mindset got a clear and repeated message that a grand king had been born in Israel.

Now we are able to use computerized astronomical tools to track the convergence of these heavenly signs involving Jupiter, Venus, Leo, and Regulus, back to when they would have occurred.

Following this it seems that 9 months after that first conjunction –

9 months – the gestation period of a human.

It shows Jupiter and Venus come together to form the brightest star anyone had ever seen!

Not forgetting there would have been very little if any light pollution so the skies and stars would have appeared much brighter than today with all our artificial light.

That would have been in mid-June of 2 BC – again near Regulus in Leo. Eventually it all traces to a conclusion on Dec. 25, in 2 BC. Remembering that of course they did not use our calendar so Dec 25th had no significance.

The Psalmist proclaimed

the heavens declare the glory of God….

and remembering that the Bible is extremely severe on the subject of astrology; because that is reverence for the stars, the idea that stars order your life or guide you. In the Old Testament it was an offense punishable by death.

This is not the same as astronomy where God set the constellations in His Heavens as signs for us on the earth. The Eternal One Who created the heavens and the signs of His own coming – who said that one day He would also return.

Of course, the Romans who ruled most of the known world at the time thought the star was about them; and they even put the star on one of their coins with an image of Caesar Augustus, which represents how impressive the star was. A sort of Star of Rome rather than the Star of Bethlehem.

So the Magi went looking for this infant king to the capital city of the Jews, Jerusalem,

and the Jews sent them into Bethlehem,

a place from which the Jewish scriptures prophesied a king would come.

What the Romans thought was about them, was actually announcing the King of Kings and the rest is HIStory.

Below are links to interesting short 6 & 9 minute videos on the alignment and the wise mens gifts.

This is an opportune time of the year to share the offer of eternal life to those who may not have heard, or haven’t made the decision to accept His precious gift of forgiveness and eternal life with the assurance of being forever in His presence.

Talking of this once in a lifetime star in the heavens may be a great reference to point people to its creator and His Son!!

If this is a heavenly sign of His second coming, a comet a star and alignment of planets or an angel/messenger are we ready?

Let us be like the magi and the shepherds

and always follow the star

that leads to the Messiah

and don’t delay in sharing with others

what we have experienced.

He is coming soon family and every eye will see Him.

When we Look up remember our redemption draws nigh.
