We are all no doubt very familiar with the scripture in Luke 1:37 which says that “Nothing is impossible with God” which emphasizes our Heavenly Fathers’s power to perform miracles and fulfill His promises. This verse reassures believers that, despite challenges, He can achieve what seems impossible in our minds and thoughts.
Matthew 19:26: makes a very similar statement
“But Jesus beheld them and said unto them: With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Here we find ourselves with a conflicting question because in truth there are many things that are impossible for our Heavenly Father. It is not a contradiction in terms because there are some things He cannot do as they would violate His own standards.
Here are some of them:
It is impossible for our Heavenly Father to lie,
It is impossible for our Him to sin.
It is impossible for Him to break a promise.
It is impossible for Him to create anything too heavy for Him to lift,
it is impossible for Him to perform a contradiction.
it is impossible for Him to leave us or forsake us
it is impossible for Him to violate His commandments
it is impossible for Him to change
it is impossible for Him to redeem the fallen angels
it is impossible for Him to alter His Word
it is impossible for Him to stop loving us
it is impossible for Him to stop saving those who come to Him.
it is impossible for Him to die and not exist.
So what does this mean? What are we really reading? In the Bible, translators are just following the old or middle English or King James version understanding of possible and every modern translation says:
with God all things are possible – nothing is impossible.
We have become so accustomed to certain translations that any change to the words we are so familiar with, would give many people problems. We have become lazy and don’t spend the time to study and research scripture for ourselves, often relying on others to do the study for us. We sometimes forget that in the English of the KJV, the words
possible and impossible
mean something very different than they do today. Today when we say
impossible
we more than likely mean:
nothing whatsoever can accomplish a task.
But if you use the words and meaning of the old or middle English era we would be saying:
that nothing is impossible that is, within the strength, character and skills of that person; therefore, making it impossible for one lacking the strength, character or skills to accomplish a task.
So in old English it is saying: nothing is impossible for God that is within His strength, character, and nature.
We need to remember that Yeshua/Jesus was speaking in His native language of Aramaic and in the Aramaic Hebrew language the word
Possible is
Shakach שׁכח
Strong’s 7912 (Aramaic) shekach: found, find, discover corresponding to shakach through the idea of disclosure of a covered or forgotten thing; to discover (literally or figuratively) — find. see HEBREW shakach
Original Word: שְׁכַח Part of Speech: Verb Transliteration: shkach Pronunciation: sheh-KAHKH Phonetic Spelling: (shek-akh’) KJV: find NASB: found, find, discover, discovered Word Origin: [(Aramaic) corresponding to H7911 (שָׁכַח שָׁכֵַח – forget) through the idea of disclosure of a covered or forgotten thing]
1. to discover (literally or figuratively)
Furthermore in the Aramaic language there is no word for impossible. Instead the word
H3808. lo לֹא or לא (adverb) not (Arabic , Aramaic לָא ,)
לֹא is Scripture’s primary marker of direct negation, shaping revelation by clarifying what is untrue, forbidden, impossible, or unnecessary. Its reach spans every genre, ensuring that God’s word is heard not only in affirmations but also in the boundaries that preserve life and faith.
Strongs 3808 lo: no, nor, cannot
Original Word: לֹא Part of Speech: Adverb Transliteration: lo’ Pronunciation: lo Phonetic Spelling: (lo) KJV: X before, + or else, ere, + except, ig(-norant), much, less, nay, neither, never, no((-ne), -r, (-thing)), (X as though,(can-), for) not (out of), of nought, otherwise, out of, + surely, + as truly as, + of a truth, + verily, for want, + whether, without NASB: no, nor, cannot, never, without, nothing, none Word Origin: [a primitive particle]
1. (the simple or absolute negation) not 2. (by implication) no {often used with other particles}
The Aramaic word shekach is used in other Jewish/Hebrew literature, (e.g. in the Targums and Talmud), to express the idea of uncovering something that is hidden.
So with this thought re-read the verses in Matthew 29:23-30 the discussion between the disciples and Messiah when they disciples ask how one can be saved.
“Truly I tell you, it is hard for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.”…..
Jesus said to His disciples, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Messiah was telling them that we in our human state cannot uncover this mystery, it is hidden from us but with our Heavenly Father it is not hidden.
Our redemption our salvation is really a mystery, the mystery of the gospel of the kingdom of the heavens. We try to understand it in our theological studies called Soteriology, which is the study of Salvation; but really the whole concept of Messiah Yeshua/Jesus being both man and God at the same time – our Heavenly Father coming here in human flesh to die in our place, redeeming us by His blood. It’s beyond our human mental capacity to fully understand, which is why we are to believe by faith not by understanding or mental assent. With our Heavenly Father, as seen from His perspective there is no mystery and even Messiah said in Luke 8:17. For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be made known and brought to light.
All things hidden will be revealed. Luke 8:17; 12:2,3; Matt 10:26; Mark 4:22; Ecc12:14. Reflect the same thoughts.
A mystery in the New Testament is something that had
at one time been hidden
but is now revealed to God’s people. Yeshua/Jesus spoke of “the mystery of the kingdom of God” in Mark 4:11. The mystery of the Gospel revealed by Paul in Ephesians 3 and again in 2 Thessalonians 2:7.
Our Heavenly Father is so much more than we can know or even picture in our imagination. We can rest assured that He has everything under his control and all things will be revealed in their time, Yeshua/Jesus said in Mark 9:23 with God our Father All things are possible to him that believeth.

Heavenly Father I come to you in the Name of Jesus/Yeshua asking for forgiveness of my sins for which I am truly sorry. I repent of them all and turn away from my past.
I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus/Yeshua is your Son and that He died on the cross at calvary to pay the price for my sin, so that I might be forgiven and have eternal life in the kingdom of Heaven. Father I believe that Jesus/Yeshua rose from the dead and I ask you to come into my life right now and be my personal Savior and Lord and I will worship you all the days of my life. Because your word is truth I say that I am now forgiven and born again and by faith I am washed clean with the blood of Jesus/Yeshua.
