A Whale of A Time?

Give Us a Sign!

We are a curious people always wanting to know what’s coming or to provide proof of something.

The people of Jesus/Yeshua’s day were no different and they asked Him to prove He was who He said He was.

The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and testing him desired that he would show them a sign from heaven. Matt 16:1-4

He replied with

Matt 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed.

The signs were all around them. Many were expecting the Messiah and watching for Him. Jesus/Yeshua uses their ‘discerning of the weather’ as an example of how every sign-oth, that they need has already been produced and yet their hearts are hard and closed to it.

He was the Word made flesh – the living Word

He said The scriptures speak of me

which is ALL of them from Genesis/ Bereshyt – beginning

Below is the meaning of the letters of the word Genesis in Paleo Hebrew letters:

and to the end – alef to tav.

The alphabet/alef-bet and Alpha -Omega.

He was and IS the Word

The oth

the sacred sign – oth

oath – covenant

He was the fulfillment of the re-newed covenant –

HE WAS the SIGN – OTH – Covenant.

That which they knew of Jonah was about to be realized in their Messiah but they could not see Him

This is why the Torah, the Prophets and Writings in the Bible – Old Testament/Covenant and New Testament/Covenant

is

a living testimony – a living book/scroll.

In him was life, and the life was the light of men. John 1:1-5

The phrase and the life was the light of men is in the Greek imperfect tense. This means that the life began to be the light of men in the past and continues to be so in the present time. The Son of God is the source and essence of life itself.

The entrance of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple Ps. 119:130

Your word is a light to my path – Way – Derech. Ps. 119:105

God is Light and in the beginning was the Word and the Word was God. John 1:1

The assertion now, is THAT LIFE, ζωή-Zoe, with all it’s manifestations and in all it’s regions; that the life of plant, tree, and animal, the life of man, of society, that the life of the body, soul, and spirit, the life transitory and the life eternal (ζωὴ αἰώνιος), was in the Logos, who was God and in the beginning with God.

Proverbs 4:22 Says, “For they (His Words) are life to those that find them, and health to all their flesh.”

He is the living word and the scriptures

Jesus/Yeshua often referred to the Scripture (the Law, the Prophets and the Psalms) as evidence for His Messiahship.

He taught that they would all be fulfilled in Him (John 10:35; Matthew 5:18).

The Old Testament Scriptures spoke of Messiah Jesus/Yeshua, pointing us to Him.

Speaking to those who opposed Him, Jesus/Yeshua said,

“Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me” (John 5:39).

On the road to Emmaus, He opened up the scriptures to them concerning Himself.

There is no other way to come to the saving knowledge of Yeshua/Jesus and eternal life except by the written Word of God; and there is no other teacher than the Holy Spirit – Ruach HaKodesh, who leads us to all truth.

The very letters of the words

are pictures of who He is and we will examine some of them as they are depicted in the fascinating early Paleo Hebrew Pictograph picture symbols that eventually evolved into the letters we see today.

There are 2 pages, accessed through mmmHomepage, that are dedicated to alef bet; they are in the process of being updated so

for your patience.

תוyאוֹת – otiot –  signs, letters.

אוֹת – oth, ot – a sign, letter.

Words are made up of individual letters called OTIOT   אותיות

One letter is called an ot (pronounced oat); ot means sign.

A number of letters are referred to as otiot;

otiot, of course, means signs

strongs # 226

The word Otiot is Hebrew for sacred signs.  (pronounced: oat-ee-oat)

The Hebrew language is a very solid, physical, tangible language; meaning that each word is a description of an action of a person or object.

This is very different to our modern languages that are made up of abstract words. The word righteous is an example of an abstract: in that it has no connection to something physical that can be touched.

The ancient Hebrew language was one based on senses. They thought in agricultural terms and their language was based upon what they could

see, feel, taste, smell, hear or touch;

and all words made from any particular ancient two letter root have a similar meaning.

Hebrew thought is solid, physical and tangible, where as Greek thought is abstract. Abstract thought is the expression of things that cannot be sensed with the 5 senses.

Hebrew thought is circular whereas Greek thought is linear. The Bible was written in Hebrew and is circular in nature – as the end is declared from the beginning.

The concept is also seen in their calendars annual 7 appointed times of the Lord.

Even their Torah Scripture scrolls are rolled..

Look at the word anger as an example of solid vs abstract thought. to a Greek, anger is an abstract concept. To a Hebrew, the word for anger is Awph which means nose. When a person gets angry, the nostrils flare and the breathing gets harder. The Hebrew sees (using senses) anger when a person’s nostrils are flaring.

With this in mind, this is how the pictographic Hebrew works in the word oth which is usually translated as sign, token, mark. It is spelled

alef vav tav.

אוֹת

The Pictographic characters are

We have the alef which stands for the mighty one or Elohim,

the vav indicating a nail

and the tav

which is a picture of a cross.

The tav or cross symbol means mark, sign and covenant; because the sign of the covenant (all covenants are cut) is our mighty one, nailed to a tree or cross.

Messiah said

Also,

The keeping of the Sabbath is said to be a sign – (oth) between God/YHWH (Yahweh) and His people Israel forever.

In the paleo pictograph letters

It is also saying that Messiah is the Master of the Sabbath. (Matt 12:8, Mk 2:28, Luke 6:5) Our Sabbath keeping identifies us as being in a covenant relationship with Him.

The word oath is Alah (ela), which carries the meaning of a binding agreement and a curse for violating it. As the older or stronger ox binds, or yokes himself, to the younger ox to train him, through the covenant with man, God/YHWH binds Himself to us to teach us how to walk.

Next a deeper dig, to look at some Treasure in the Torah of Grace and Mercy Seat.

These words have been much in the text of the last posts, and while mmm is working on more information to add to the Alef Bet Ancient pictograph pages, here is a taste of the riches in this storehouse of the Lord concerning His Living Word who we know as Yeshua/Jesus.

TREASURE – Otsar:

’ō·w·ā·r

אוֹצָרֽ

There are at least five different Hebrew words that may be translated into English as treasure.

Each of these has a slightly different meaning. usually we think of treasure as valuable objects such as precious gem stones, gold, or silver kept hidden for security.

Deuteronomy 28:12 has The most frequently used word for treasure where Moses writes:

The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

The Hebrew word Otsar is the word used here for treasure and is most often used with the meaning of a storehouse for treasure rather than the treasure itself, this verse says that the LORD is opening His storehouse of treasure in order to bless His people.

In Proverbs 15:16 Otsar is also used to describe us and our storehouse of treasure:

Better is little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble therewith.

This scripture indicates that our Otsar could bring us trouble and that we should do well to fear/reverently respect, the LORD and be content with whatever He chooses to grant us from His storehouse of blessing.

What do ancient pictographs reveal to us about this word for treasure?

Otsar is spelled

Aleph Vav Tsade Reysh

is read from right to left in Hebrew…below in modern hebrew:

and for our ease here it is in

Aleph Vav Tsade Reysh order

The ancient pictographs for Otsar

   Aleph       Vav        Tsade      Reysh

Aleph

 is the picture of the

ox and means the strong leader, the first, or God the Father.

Vav

is the picture of the

iron nail or the wooden hook or peg and means to secure, to add, or join two things that are separated from one another.

Tsade

is the picture of the

fishhook and means to catch, to have a strong desire, or a harvest.

Reysh

is the picture of the

head

and denotes the leader, the master, or the prince.

Ancient pictographs for Otsar reveal that the strong leader, God the Father, is joined to the harvest found in the prince.

The prince is Jesus/Yeshua the Messiah,

the Otsar or treasure is the harvest of the lost for eternity.

Yeshua said

I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6

Another nugget is in the fact that the Vav connects what is on one side of the word to what is on the other. Already revealed is God the Father/the strong leader, who is on one side, but what is on the other side?

The letters Tsade Reysh

Tsade Reysh

form the word sorry

and can be translated

narrow.

Meaning what exactly?

We are sorry when we are reminded that not everyone will choose to be joined to the Father and to be included in His treasure.

The answer is in Matthew 7:14:

In Isaiah 33:6, he writes of Otsar of the LORD: And wisdom and knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of salvation: the fear of the LORD is his treasure

Out of the treasure, or the Otsar of the Fear of the LORD, will come the source of wisdom and knowledge that will provide stability

Otsar here again is the word treasure,

a 2nd verse connecting Otsar with the fear of the LORD, revealing just how much the Lord values us viewing Him with the awe and respect deserving of His majesty.

Here it is clear that those that choose Him are His treasure, but also part of His Otsar is how He is viewed by those that choose Him.

In Isaiah 33:6

is another word for treasure where the word strength in Hebrew is the word

חֹ֥סֶן   (C)hocen ō·sen

spelled Chet Samech Noon.

Chet

or

is the picture of the fence and means to protect, to separate, a sanctuary, or a private place.

Samech

is the picture of the prop

and means to support and uphold symbolized by the trellis supporting the vines and their fruit.

Noon/Nun

or

is the picture of the fish

and means activity or life

and it’s translated as wealth, riches, strength, and treasure.

The Otsar of the LORD, is that His fear (reverential awe), brings us to a place of trust/faith, where the Father/Avinu and the Prince /Sar, join together for the purpose of the harvest of souls.

If we will just trust in Him, we can be protected, supported, and receive life/chaim.

This is the real treasure,

Otsar –

חֹ֥סֶן   (C)hocen ō·sen

not the physical blessings He showers upon us.

A hidden mystery in the word

TORAH   תּוֹרָה  to-raw’

meaning:

direction, instruction, law

The Hebrew letters for Torah are

Tav Vav Reysh Hey.

The Torah is the complete instructions, directions and commandments of the covenant law for the nation of Israel.

It is the first 5 books in the Hebrew scriptures. Also sometimes called the Five Books of Moses because it was revealed to him by God on Mount Sinai.

And he wrote there upon the stones a copy of the Law of Moses, which he wrote in the presence of the children of Israel. EX 8: 32

The word Torah first appears is in Gen.26:5 where God/YHWH appears to Abraham and tells him he will be blessed:

Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes and my laws.

That word used here is for laws, is Torah, giving us 2 things.

One, that blessing comes through obedience to Torah, and secondly, that its’ essence existed even before Moses would be born or given the Torah on Sinai’s mountain in the wilderness.

Tav means to seal or to covenant and is a picture of crossed wooden sticks or a cross.

Vav means to join together or to bind together and is a picture of a wooden hook or peg or an iron nail.

Reysh is a picture of the head and stands for the leader or the master or the prince.

Hey means to behold or to pay attention to what follows and is a picture of a man looking up.

The letters tell us to

behold

the prince

who is fastened

to a wooden cross.

The word Torah contains a picture of the Messiah who was to come, Yeshua Ha-Mashiach, and shows us that He would die on a cross.

Matthew 5:17, Jesus/Yeshua prophetically declared:

Think not that I come to destroy the law, or the prophets:  I am not come to destroy but to fulfill.

In John 5:39, he wrote these words of Jesus/Yeshua:

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Here the word scriptures can mean either a book of the Torah, a passage, or a very specific portion.  The One who proved Himself to be the Messiah/the Living Word, declared He can be literally found in the written Word.

The Torah testifies to Him in ways only Our Heavenly Father could have planned; as well as Messiahs life and death actually fulfilling the law.

Behold the prince, Yeshua Ha-Mashiach fastened to a cross so that we could be free from the curse of the law of sin and death.

Messiah is found in Torah by Grace.

GRACE

Noon   Chet

One meaning of Grace is unmerited Favor. Grace is something that is given freely without conditions or obligation by the giver.

The very act of giving grace discloses two fundamental facts:

The first thing it discloses in most cases is a need. The person or persons receiving grace are usually unable to provide what is needed by their own power and receive it freely from another who has the ability to provide what is needed.

The second thing grace discloses is generosity on the part of the giver. He may be giving out of a great abundance and showing favor may cost him little. Or he may be giving all he has, thus enriching another at his own expense.

The ultimate expression of this is God’s Grace extended to sinful man.

The First use of GRACE in Scripture is Genesis 6:8

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord

Chet

Private – To Separate – Fence – Sanctuary   Inner Room

Noon

Activity – Life   Fish

God produces life in us and then puts a fence or wall of protection around that life so that is may not be destroyed or removed.

The Mystery in the

Kapporeth – MERCY SEAT

Do the Hebrew pictographs of Kapporeth describe a hidden mystery that will reveal a connection to Messiah?

Moses, directs his people in an exodus towards the land promised to them in their father Abraham, God/YHVH gives Moses instructions to build Him a special dwelling place. In the book of Exodus 25: 8 and 9 Moses records the words of YHVH:

And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them. According to all that I shew thee after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make them.

Additionally,

Moses writes in Ex. 29:45,46:

And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will be their God, and they shall know that I am the LORD their God, that brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them: I am the LORD their God.

Even more specific instructions were given for what was to be housed inside this tabernacle.

Ex. 25:10 continues:

And they shall make an ark of shittim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof.

Finally, God/YHVH tells Moses in vs. 21 how the lid on this ark will be crafted:

And thou shall put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.

The words mercy seat are the Hebrew word Kapporeth. This Kapporeth was to be made of pure gold with a cherub of beaten gold mounted on each end facing each other.

What was the purpose of this seat? In Chp. 25:22, God/YHVH tells us:

And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim who are upon the ark of the testimony.

The only time that this commune with God/YHVH would take place, was each year on the fall feast of Israel we call the Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur, when the High Priest would sprinkle the blood of a lamb on the Kapporeth. This blood sacrifice was offered yearly on this most holy day of the year and was intended to cover the sins of the nation for one more year.

What is the significance of all this?

Can the Hebrew pictographs of Kapporeth give us a clearer understanding?

Kapporeth is spelled

Kaf Pey Reysh Tav.

reading from right to left below

Kaf

is the picture of the hand

and means to cover, to open, or to allow.

Pey

is the picture of the open mouth

and means to speak.

Reysh

is the picture of the

head

and means master or the prince.

Tav

is the picture of crossed wooden sticks

and means a sign, to seal, or to covenant.

The first mystery we can see in these pictographs is that there will be a cover on the mouth of the prince.

But what prince?  Surely that would be the prince of the cross which is Yeshua Ha-Mashiach, Jesus the Christ. Why is His mouth covered, what is He not saying? Look below the seat and into the ark itself for the answer.

The first three letters in Kapporeth are the root word Kapher which in conventional Hebrew means to cover. The Kapporeth or mercy seat is not just a place for God/YHVH to meet with the High Priest, it is covering something important.

What is in the Ark of the Covenant? According to Hebrews 9:4, the tabernacle in the temple contained:

Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant.

Although each of these items are symbols of the providential hand of God/YHVH in the lives of His people, they are also reminders of the sin of His people. When YHVH provided manna for food, the people complained it wasn’t enough so He gave them quail.

Aaron’s rod that miraculously budded was a sign that Moses had been given authority from God/YHVH to lead the nation as a shepherd, but the people rejected the leadership of Moses and therefore were also rejecting God/YHVH.

The stone tables or tablets containing the Ten Commandments were the law given to the nation for their instruction and their well-being. But the people again refused to obey and they rebelled against YHVH.

The prince with the covered mouth is Messiah, who by the blood shed on the cross on behalf of His people, has made amends for the sins of His people.

Those sins have not been just covered by His blood sprinkled on the Kapporeth

but have been taken away forever!

The people of God/YHVH no longer need the blood of a lamb once a year on Yom Kippur, for as the writer of Hebrews 10:14;

For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Each of the letters in Kapporeth is also a number which will tell us even more about this mystery.

Kaf

is the number 20 and when found throughout scripture refers to redemption.

Pey

is the number 80 and stands for a new beginning ordained in heaven.

Reysh

is the number 200 and contrasts the insufficiency of man with the sufficiency of God.

Tav

is the number 400 and points us to a divinely ordained period of time that will bring about deliverance and renewal.

These numbers combine to paint a wonderful picture for us. God/Elohim has ordained in heaven a plan of redemption for man who could never make amends for his own sin and rebellion.

This plan was found at the perfect time in the Tav, the cross, where Messiah the Prince brought about deliverance and renewal for His people.

Not only will Messiah the Prince not speak against us regarding our sin, but in 1 John 3:1 we see how our Heavenly Father will speak for us:

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.

Mentioned in a previous post but worth reiterating –

The word for Truth is EMeT – אמת,

spelled with the following Hebrew letters,

Aleph א

Mem מ

Tav ת

It’s essentially the title/name for God Aleph-Tav – את

The beginning and the end letters of the alef bet

as in the first and the last

the alpha and omega

as we saw at the start of this post.

It is declaring the end from the beginning
with a Mem – מ inserted in the middle!

We looked at the ancient pictograph for the first letter of the Alphabet –

ALEPH א – was the Ox-head, and it symbolized the Chief, the Head, the Strength, the Leader of something.

Ideally, it speaks of God as being all of these things – as He is always placed at the place of preeminence and rank of First.

The ancient pictograph for MEM – מ – is the imagery of water flowing.

The ancient pictograph for TAV – ת was that of 2 crossed sticks – a Cross.

Strung together, it appears to form the picture of,

the Ox [with water flowing] from the Cross

As the Gospels indicate, Messiahs’ crucifixion and death portrayed this picture perfectly when the water flowed from His side where the spear pierced His body.

But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood and WATER. John 19:34

He who saw it has borne witness – his testimony is TRUE, and he knows that he is telling THE TRUTH – that you also may believe. John 19:35

This was the ultimate manifestation of TRUTH

in ancient Hebrew thought.

Indeed, Yeshua/Jesus reminded us several times when He said I AM the TRUTH [EMeT אמת] John 14:6.

Finally, its good to remember that when the ALEPH א  – the Ox – (symbolic of God’s presence in this line of thought)

is REMOVED from the word for TRUTH – ‘EMeT אמת’,

all we have are the letters,

Mem מ

Tav ת

which spells the word

MuT – מת –

this is the Hebrew word for

DEATH.

Clearly meaning that when we remove God from the equation of Truth we are left only with Death.

All the scriptures from Alef to Tav – Genesis to Revelation is truly

He has indeed given us a sign and more than just one!!

Shalom Mishpachah/Family!

Please don’t leave this page until you make certain Messiah Jesus/Yeshua is your Redeemer, Savior, Lord and soon returning King and that you have a personal relationship with Him.

It’s all about Life and Relationship, NOT Religion.

You are greatly loved and precious in His sight.

NOT SURE? YOU CAN BE..

SAY THE FOLLOWING FROM YOUR HEART RIGHT NOW…

Heavenly Father I come to you in the Name of Jesus/Yeshua asking for forgiveness of my sins for which I am truly sorry. I repent of them all and turn away from my past.

I believe with my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus/Yeshua is your Son and that He died on the cross at calvary to pay the price for my sin, so that I might be forgiven and have eternal life in the kingdom of Heaven. Father I believe that Jesus/Yeshua rose from the dead and I ask you to come into my life right now and be my personal Savior and Lord and I will worship you all the days of my life. Thank you that you have accepted me into your family in Jesus’/Yeshua’s name. Amen.

The Secret of The Letting Down of Wings part 2

Ezekiel 1:25

And there was a

How do we hear the voice of the Lord?

What does it sound like?

They heard the

Voice – קול – Kol

and behold, the glory of the God of Israel was coming from the way of the east. And His voice was like the sound of many waters; and the earth shone with His glory.

KJV Ezek.1:25

It’s a great example for us to follow

when we hear His VOICE

we need to stand

and

let down our wings.

Though seeming to be stationary, a humming birds wings are fluttering very fast and even produce a sound.

The sound of movement –

stationary

but not still,

nor silent.

We are often in the posture of quiet and yet our wings are still fluttering, beating against the air of circumstances in our lifes’ situation

and it is not the true place of…

Be STILL

and know that

I AM God/Anochi אָנֹכִ֣י

The original Hebrew Root of BE STILL- har·pū – הַרְפּ֣וּ

NAS: Cease [striving] and know
KJV: Be still, and know that I [am] God:

does not mean

to be quiet

as we understand in English..

It means LET GO..sink, relax

In other words, we are to LET GO and

surrender

in order to know that

God is in control as

Ribono Shel Olam –  in Aramaic (an ancient language closely related to Hebrew) means:

The Master or King of the World/Universe.

We have to

let go

in order to know and experience His saving power in our lives and that He is in control..

Butterflies,

REST.

Notice in Rest, nuwach or nuach

pronounced: noo’-akh;  נוּחַ

there are 2 of 3 symbols the same as in the word for Grace – Chen – חַוּ

and it also has the meaning of camped, enter into rest, settle, settled, space, spent, stationed, wait quietly, waited. Strongs 5117

Here in the word rest נוּחַ there is a letter Vav

in between the Chet/fence and Nun/seed

is sometimes used as the conjunction word AND   (See chart above: top line far right).

If we follow this thought, looking at the other meanings to the pictographs:

the word REST in Paleo Hebrew

could be read as:

nun vav chet translated to

Life And Separation! Wow!

Rest equals life and separation! – this surely is the abundant life for believers in Messiah as His Ecclesia/Called Apart Ones?

When insects let down their wings in

rest

they open them to receive the

sun/sons

life giving-healing rays. Mal.4:2 prophesied that believers in Messiah would receive healing from His wings.

Letting down their wings

in rest

is a visual indication of trust in the safety of that place;

they do not have their wings moving in readiness for leaving, in haste, panic or fear.

The same is also true for us.

We need to get still enough to hear His voice to receive His direction and when we don’t, we go our own way, following our own thought in the matter and the result is disastrous and many times, we have to retrace our steps or go round that mountain one more time! And sometimes this is impossible and the result is devastating.

A helpful image of this is a wave made in a pool, which will move outwards to the perimeter and then rebound and return to the place it began. It takes time to return, depending on the distance to that boundary.

The ripples on the water are unavoidable and cause and effect is a result of all action, whether right or wrong, we set in motion a series of events that can have dire consequences; affecting so much else down the road where we cannot see.

This is why we need His guidance and plan for He is the same yesterday, today and forever and He sees where we don’t. Often our arrogance, combined with self-assured, prideful, self-confident, commonsense, is a recipe for disaster; especially with a lack of spiritual maturity or simply inexperienced youth, which has a tendency to know it all.

Romans 8:5-6 – For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

Romans 12:2 – And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Wasted energy and the time lost, plus resulting negative issues, could have been avoided

if we had simply

let down the wings of our spirit

and got quiet before Him.

Only then the still small voice of true shalom/peace

will softly break the silence

as

we wait in Him

in the shelter

of His presence/throne.

Wait I say wait on the Lord.

To wait on the Lord produces character in the life of the believer, in that it requires patience (James 1:4). Waiting involves the passage of time, which is itself a gift of God.

The word wait in the Bible carries the idea of confident expectation and hope.

Then and only then, (Ezekiel 1:20), can we go forward in the direction of His perfect will. Perfect because it is the best not only for us but also for those within the ripples created by our actions.

Those we initiate and which encompass all within our sphere of influence.

Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! Isaiah 40:31

Perhaps we are waiting on the Lord today for some special blessing in answer to prayer.

As we wait upon God, there are plenty of things we can do to stay strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. (Eph. 6:10) our time of waiting should not be viewed as wasted time.

Yea, wait thou for the LORD. Wait for the LORD; Be strong, and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD. Wait for the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart; wait, I say, for the LORD. Ps 27:14

When we are pushed or pressed into doing or making things happen on our schedule – have to do it now – it’s never the Holy Spirit. Our impatient flesh will always offer a seemingly genuine and common sense reason! Flesh seldom hears God, or obeys His timing, it’s selfish and wants what it wants.. now.

If our impatient flesh acts without the spirit of God, it will, along with ourselves, often cause others to suffer and become a casualty of our irresponsible decisions. A loving parent will never tell one child to do something that will cause problems and hurt another one of their children, especially if it’s to fulfill a personal goal or dream as the expense of the other.

He has no favorites and

The action has a reaction and these two forces, called action and reaction forces and are the subject of Newton’s third law of motion which is: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. The statement means that in every interaction, there is a pair of forces acting on the two interacting objects. For example: If you push on anything, it pushes back on you.

A better way to say it might be:

A force is exerted by one object on another object. Or: every force involves the interaction of two objects. When one object exerts a force on a second object, the second object also exerts a force on the first object. The two forces are equal in strength and oriented in opposite directions.

Why is this relevant?

It means that everything has consequences – nothing is an island unto itself – what we do always has an effect. It’s also true of the spiritual realm, our actions and prayers have both short and long term effects.

It also activates Gods law of like for like which is the essence of an eye for an eye idiom. What we sow we will reap whether we believe it or not, we will receive that harvest. Things may roll along for a while and seem fine but we mustn’t be deceived, God is not mocked and our actions will return back to us, according to His Word.

Be not deceived, God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7

And many times the time between action and reaction is long enough that we don’t see the connection.

He did not say figure it out yourself, plan it and do it. He said wait, and our footsteps will be ordered of the Lord. Preempting His leading and timing is the enemy’s sneaky trick, for we will miss God’s best, even if at the time it seems like we did the right thing.

Our thinking, our way of being and doing, influencing and handling our circumstances directly to our benefit, never leads to His will. The world’s ways are not His ways and when one door closes, or the way forward is barred or difficult, we best not keep pushing to make one open just to get it done in our plan. The subtle danger is that the devil will always supply a solution but on his terms!

Ps 91 calls it the snare of the fowler, because its not a blatantly obvious trap.

His tactic is to catch men in his net.

The enemy plans way in advance as he covers the trap and net putting luring bait out. However, behind the scenes the enemy is there for the believers enticement and destruction.

He uses different weapons and agents in his kingdom to disturb people’s lives particularly the lives of the children of God and he is very intelligent at caging people’s destiny.

And he will supply plenty of circumstantial signs as confirmation, which is easy for him as he is master of the sense realm and is the god of this physical world.

However, the good news is that Ps 91 also promises, The Lord will keep you safe from secret traps,

IF

(conditional)

we dwell in the secret place of the Most High under the feathers of His Wings.

Many times we think we hear God and we are just hearing our own solution and maybe even a wrong whispering spirit telling us.. why wait, just do it anyway!

We lose nothing by waiting for it’s a clear demonstration of faith because His Spirit/Ruach is of Peace and patience and never pushes His way in our life.

Be still and know that I am – Anochi – God -Adonai. The revealing/apocalypse, only comes by patient, attentive, watching.

In the place of the letting down of wings…

The soul is stilled like a well-weaned child and in it we are fed and satisfied.

His presence filling our vessel so completely, that we overflow and pour out His goodness on those with who we are in close contact; as well as in our own life. And the place of His shalom becomes the place of His manifested presence.

When wings beat the air, although we cannot see it, the action moves the surrounding atmosphere regardless. Think of a fan whose blades beat the air and cause cooling streams to filter through the room. The same is true of our activity, while we continue to move, we disturb the very atmosphere, which surrounds us.

He said

BE Still

not

be busy!

Be still my soul… and as we bring the body into subjection, as we quiet the noisy tumult and detach from exterior elements that result in interference; then we can be still and know that He is God

Let Him – allow His Ruach haKodesh – to pour oil on troubled waters ..

It’s time to let down the wings of our heart and let Him in and rest in His presence/before His throne.

The Prince of Peace – Sar Shalom always moves in Peace/Shalom – never in a hurry.

A change in the way we think is the most important aspect of real repentance and of being a true disciple. When we miss it, being quick to repent and get it right. Mark gives examples of the most basic attitudes and passions that are (evil)/(out of harmony) with God and can dominate our thinking and behavior:

“. . . adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within and defile a man” ( Mark 7:21-23 ).

This is why we need HaMakom…

where Messiahs blood cries mercy and pardon and redemption. (Hebrews 12:18-25)

There is no substitute to

the letting down of wings

– spending time with Our Father, for this is how we will truly know the Voice of Adonai.

Proximity = Nearness in place, time, order, occurrence or relation. There was a time when only the High Priest could access His presence, BUT, because of Messiah Jesus/Yeshua’s sacrifice, today anyone can come to the mercy seat to be in God’s presence.

John 10:27– My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

How do the sheep know the shepherd’s voice?

He has been with them daily since they were lambs. He’s led them to their food, protected them from harm and mended their wounds. They have spent their lives with their shepherd.

Spending time with our Heavenly Father is similar to the action of getting to know the voice of a friend or relative, it starts by hearing what they are saying.

As we read the Word of God we are training ourselves to know what the Lord/Adonai has said. It enables us to know if something lines up with who He is.

He wants us to make a habit of talking with Him. This means just what it says, talk to Him which is commonly called Prayer. Prayer in essence is talking to the Lord, share with Him our heart, joys and pains and listen for His voice.

We need to be encouraged to begin talking to and with the Lord.

Spend time reading the Scriptures, share our heart with Him.

Let’s not focus on getting things from the Lord but on knowing Him…

For there are many benefits from being under the wings, and nestled within the feathers.

Healing, protection, safety, closeness, warm and being fed, as well as renewing our strength.

From this it is clear that..

in a particular place – ha makem

המקום

This place is before His throne

His throne is His presence

When we hear His voice from the expanse of the heavens

We stand still and let down our wings

In an attitude of reverent trusting shalom

It is accessed through His Mercy by

the Grace provided in Jesus/Yeshuas’ blood

and this is the secret place of the most high, when our wings are silent and still and we are safe and secure in the camp, under the canopy of His overshadowing protective love.

It’s time to trust Him

Because your word is truth I say that I am now forgiven and born again and by faith I am washed clean with the blood of Jesus/Yeshua. Thank you that you have accepted me into your family in Jesus’/Yeshua’s name. Amen.

The Secret of The Letting Down of Wings

The Scriptures in His Word generate for us an environment of His Holy Spirit, Ruach HaKodesh

רוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ

As we read the prophets descriptions; the pictures that are created by their words are,

 a revealing – חושף – gelah

of the

Letting Down of Wings.

Ezekiel 1:25-28 King James Version (KJV).

25 And there was a voice from the firmament that was over their heads, when they stood, and had

let down their wings.

26 And above the firmament that was over their heads was the likeness of a throne, (אלהים) as the appearance of a

sapphire stone:

and upon the likeness of the throne was the likeness as the appearance of a man above upon it.

The throne,

has a meaning of

the place/ha makem

of His presence.

Throne: כִּסֵּא kisse or kisseh

Phonetic Spelling: (kis-say’)

Four Hebrew terms (kissē’, kissēh, môŝāb̲ and teḵûnāh),

one Aramaic word (korsē’), Aramaic כּוּרְסְיָא , ; Biblical Aramaic כָּרְסֵא

Reminiscent of the English word used in the scripture Ps 2:12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.

Kiss which to us is a show of affection; here is na·she·ku נַשְּׁקוּ־ and means: do homage/worship!

Throne in Strongs: 3678 seat of honor, that which belongs to the Divine Royalty as Heavenly King.

Also in Is.6:1; Ezek 1:26 (twice in verse); Ezekiel 10:11 Kings 22:19 2Chronicles 18:18; Job 26:9Psalm 11:4Isaiah 66:1 heaven is my throne; as seat of judgment.

In Ezekiel 1:25-28 kise’ comes from the root word kacah. It is the word used for a full moon but it’s actually a loan word from the Akkadian language for a headdress or cap. Apparently the Babylonians used the word for the crown worn by the moon god.

The Hebrew word translated applies to any elevated seat occupied by a person in authority, whether a high priest, (1 Samuel 1:9) a judge, (Psalms 122:5) or a military chief (Jeremiah 1:16).

The use of a chair in a country where the usual postures were squatting and reclining was at all times regarded as a symbol of dignity and where our custom and tradition of thrones originates.

and

we as born again believers have the privilege of entering that presence/throne.

Heb. 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Mercy, means to cover, placate, appease, cleanse, cancel or make atonement for.

The presence/shekinah/glory used to be with the ark of His covenant

the mercy seat/kapporet

which was directly above the covenant commandments, (עשרת המצוות Aseret haDibrot – ten sayings) within; which may have been written on the sapphire stone of which the foundation of His presence is made.

https://www.minimannamoments.com/sapphire-and-10-sayings/

Ezekiel 1:22 Spread out above the heads of the living creatures was the likeness of an awesome expanse,

gleaming like crystal.

Ezekiel 10:1 And I looked and saw above the expanse, above the heads of the cherubim, the likeness of a throne of sapphire.

Ezekiel 1:25-28 (NIV)  25 Then there came a voice from above the vault over their heads as they stood with lowered wings. 26 Above the vault over their heads was what looked like a throne of lapis lazuli, and high above on the throne was a figure like that of a man.

3764. כָּרְסֵא Korse (kor-say’) a throne

Adonai eloheinu melech ha’olam

The Creator/Ruler/King of the Universe, is not sitting on a literal chair, for He is omnipresent in the heavenshashamiyim – שָׁמַיִם . (shaw-mah’-yim)

Now the law/covenant commandments/ have been written on our hearts..

Ezekiel 36:26-27; the promise that the law should be written in the heart/lev, which was to be the special characteristic of the re-new-ed covenant..

and as Yeshua/Jesus told us in Luke 17:21 the kingdom of God is within you. That kingdom will not be marked out on any map; it is not a continent or a spatial expanse like Asia, Europe or America. It is even now in our midst, in the person and presence/throne of Jesus/Yeshua.

The being of God is the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of the heavens are within us meaning in our hearts, our inner spirit beings, this is His throne; the place-hamakem-of His presence.

We enthrone Him in the inward hidden man of our hearts.

5601 Sapphire סַפִּיר sappir: (sap-peer’) or a Lapis lazuli (/ ˈ l æ p ɪ s ˈ l æ zj ʊ l i, -l aɪ /), or lapis for short, is a deep blue metamorphic rock used as a semi-precious stone that has been prized since antiquity for its intense color.

One source gives this interesting meaning to the stone!

There are several places where there are references to subjects covered in earlier posts and links are included. It is important to remember that Ruach HaKodesh builds within us line upon line and precept upon precept and as everything is connected the more we study the more we begin to see the whole picture and plan.

The Prophets Longed to See It:

Matt 13:17 Luke 10:24

1 Peter 1:10 highlights the worth of our salvation by telling us how the prophets longed to be a part of it in Verse 11: “The prophets who prophesied of the GRACE that would come to you, made careful search and inquiry, seeking to know what person or time [Messiah/Christ was indicating].

2Peter 2.Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

Strong’s Hebrew: 2580. חֵן (chen) — favor, grace

CHARIS in Greek (χαρις)

In Hebrew, the word for grace is chen, which derives from shoresh, (a root) meaning “favor, mercy, kindness, graciousness.”

In Exodus 34:6-7, one of the great attributes revealed about the LORD/Adonai, is that He is gracious (chanun).

https://www.minimannamoments.com/13-attributes-of-gods-mercy/

The Hebrew word translated as grace is  חן hhen or chen, (Strong’s #2580) and is a two-letter parent root.

In order to uncover the original meaning of this word it is important to first examine each of the roots and words that are derived from this parent root as it is used in the scriptures, literally means favour, to bend or stoop in kindness to another as a superior to an inferior. It has the idea of graciousness in manner or action.

A second verbal root derived from the parent root חן (hhen) is חנן

(Hh.N.N, Strong’s #2603), spelled exactly the same except with the addition of the letter ן (n) at the end.

This Hebrew verb is paralleled with such ideas as healing, help, being lifted up, finding refuge, strength and salvation (literally rescue).

From a concrete Hebraic perspective, חנן (Hh.N.N without vowels,) means all of this, which we can sum up with

providing protection.

This concept becomes clearer, when looking at the ancient Paleo Hebrew Letters.

Where is it natural for us to run to for protection? Home? In the wilderness for the Israelites, it was the camp, and now we can see how חנה (Hh.N.H), the camp, and חנן (Hh.N.N), protection, are related.

Lastly we need to understand how these words are related to the parent root חן (hhen).

While finding that this Hebrew word is being paralleled with beauty. This beauty is something that is precious and graceful, which is exactly how the Hebrews would have seen the

camp of protection,

a graceful and precious place.

While these definitions do apply to the Hebrew word חן (hhen), they do not completely convey the full emotion and spectrum of the Hebrew word.
This is often the problem with translating Hebrew into English. The English vocabulary is so limited in how it can express the full meaning of a given Hebrew word which involves more of a concept and one word is insufficient.

Now we understand that this is the

Throne (place of His presence) of Grace

that we are coming into… when we come boldly, it is into a

camp of provision and protection,

where we can

safely let down our wings

and not have to be on guard.

Wow!

and what is more remembering it is also

the place – ha makem –

of the

mercy seat

and

Yeshua/Jesus atoning blood.

There is a further mystery revealed which is connected here and has also been mentioned in previous posts.

The word Racham means: tender love, deep compassion and from the word racham, comes the word rechem, which is the word for womb, they are connected in an intimate way meaning both womb and mercy.

We all have a favorite place of safety and comfort. It may be a chair, sofa, couch or bed; where we can relax completely and more easily fall asleep, because it is like a womb and we often curl up as in a fetal position, its an instinctive reflex reaction.

The only real protection for a new fragile life, is in the mothers’ womb; for the womb is a place/Makem of safety, tenderness and nurturing; where steady growth and development continues for the stages of preparation to successfully enter the next phase of the life cycle.

This is clear in Is.44:24

Rechem is integral to the female body, designed by a loving Father and it is that hidden place of the womb – Rechem – which all humanity has gone through even though we don’t remember it; but without that experience we would not be here. As the word Racham means mercies as well as womb, it also is applied for the love and mercy of our Heavenly Father.

Because of this it means the love and mercy of God is as a womb and herein is the mystery explained. For when we throw ourselves on His mercy

we enter His womb/Racham

of provision by grace.

This Racham is just as integral and important to the believer as the mothers womb is to the developing baby.

Gods’ racham is that tender love and deep compassion which causes us to be born again of the spirit and what Yeshua/Jesus was explaining to Nicodemus in John 3:38.

Remember, Nicodemus would have understood the Hebraic concept as Yeshua explained it, that the entering of the womb Nicodemus questioned, was no doubt referring to entering the camp/womb/rachem of God’s tender mercy/racham.

This rechem is the place – ha makem – which keeps us during our life with tender love.

He holds us protects us helps us grow into

the fullness of Messiah, and become all that He has called us to be in Him; and because His Mercy is everlasting, it’s always there.

The womb of His presence is always available for us to go inside, to enter in and be safe, while we are restored.

The love of God is the womb of new birth – it means that the Racham of Father is the Rechem of our redemption – spiritual new birth –

This is why the throneplace of His presence – is also linked to the Throne of Grace.

The access to His Throne/presence is by loving grace – one meaning is unmerited favor, we cant earn it – it is freely given/ offered and secondly it is a picture of a safe enclosurea camp, a protected environment within which we are secure and can grow while receiving His loving care and healing.

It’s the likeness of a womb when we enter into His presence, before the throne of that grace.

This is the place of the letting down of wings, of relaxing, knowing where we are, who He is; and that we are completely safe in the Racham of His Rechem, enveloped in His grace.

Here He loves us and ministers to us as we love Him and minister to Him.

The face to face meeting; פָנִים

10 Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who foretold the grace to come to you, searched and investigated carefully, 11 trying to determine the time and setting to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when He predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow. 12 It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they foretold the things now announced by those who preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. Even angels long to look into these things.…

and no small wonder when we fully grasp the picture being revealed the apocalypse of these hidden secrets and mysteries.

The prophets only saw in part and so do we

1 CORINTHIANS 13:12 NKJ 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

The wisest of men have here but short, narrow, imperfect conceptions, even of the things round about them, and much more of the deep things of God.  Even the prophecies which men deliver by the Spirit of God are far from encompassing the whole of events yet to unfold or of that Divine wisdom and knowledge which is treasured up in the revelation of His Word. Only when we are face to face with God will we see the whole picture. Until then we will only know in part.

Daniel 2:28 – However, there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries

And

However

As the days we live in grow darker with uncertainties and instabilities abounding, Father/Avinu, is calling us to a closer walk with Him.

He desires that we NOT just visit, the secret place of Ps.91; but to stay there and abide within, keeping a constant connection and an intimate relationship. Here is Shalom – Peace, provided by our Sar Shalom – Prince of Peace. Here no dis-ease and no Ra (the opposite of Shalom) can enter in.

And we are the containers and carriers of the light that shines in darkness Jesus/Yeshua said,

“I am the light [that] shineth in darkness, and the darkness comprehendeth it not.”

That means no matter how hard it tries, the darkness cannot put out that light.

Never ever.

We can trust that His light will be there for us.

The Pesach Dalet in Time; a Man Between 2 Realms; Yonah and The Watches of the Night.

In previous posts we have seen that the Hebrew letter Dalet, represents a door, or an opening and a place, (Hakem) of a threshold. It’s a point where one can CROSS from one place or location into another. A doorway or transition can also be called a portal.

It is where we get our English word Port from, where ships come and go to other places and destinations. Many towns have port as part of their names due to their proximity to water. It is also reflected in the French word for the door – la porte.

Sea going vessels have portholes for windows, again representing a connecting barrier and indicating two sides which are separated.

Interesting they are circular, not square and have 3 component parts which are connected into one unit.

Windows also represent a barrier and indicate a change, a threshold, and a place of passing, or looking through to a different Hakem.

Ha Makem’- ‘The Place’-המקום

We are quite familiar with the Exodus story and remember this event is inexorably linked through time to the events at Passover/Pesach. Ex.12: 21-27.

On the night of the Passover, the Hebrews were to put the blood of the Lamb on the wooden beams of their doorways. This was probably the only WAY /portal/in and out of their home, as slaves, they would have had little luxuries.

They would have then entered in through the bloodstained doorway and stayed inside their houses. When they passed through that WAY again, it would be for the last time. It would be to leave Egypt and never return.

It would be to depart from all bondage of that life of slavery and in going through the portal, they entered a new life of freedom.

They were entering a new realm and eventually a new land; with a new identity as the people chosen by the Lord when they accepted the covenant at Sinai. A people set apart – Holy, to the Lord. This is the gospel message! And the type for our lives and us both as individuals and corporately is clear.

The blood was not on the threshold, so they did not tread on it, it was on 3 sides and looked like a door.

The letter TAV also resembles a door shape.

https://www.minimannamoments.com/nail-i-am/

The last letter of the alef bet and is the symbol of the cross.

This blood marked the door transforming it into a portal – a spiritual transition point. A supernatural phenomena, enabling them to pass from the old to the new, effective in the spiritual realm for its divine purpose. This was so prophetic as, centuries later there would come the fulfillment of another Pesach, with another lamb, whose blood was shed for the world

and that blood created another supernatural portal.

The DOOR (Dalet) – THE WAY (Derech) back to the Father, spiritual reconciliation restored.

This portal transcended all previous types and shadows of His plan for He is the Dalet. He is the One between 2 realms; spanning the transition zone, the bridge. The Pesach Dalet in time that leads to eternal life.

The spiritual number 4, which is represented by Dalet in Hebrew, means message motion or world.

We should not mistake His death for a martyrs one. According to John 8:37, He came on purpose to die. It was His plan. He was a willing sacrifice, His free will choice to offer His life for ours. The key was in His deaths, reminding us that death leads to life and is not anything to be feared.

We merely exchange this body of flesh for something far better. Death has lost it’s sting of sin if we are truly saved; it’s just a simple transition through a portal in time. And Jesus/Yeshua Messiah is that Dalet.

The cross was a tree, made of wood, some translations say it was the same wood as the lintels of the Hebrews dwellings back in Egypt.

Both were marked with the Blood of a lamb.

The Romans used the cross beams as an execution stake, a most cruel, punishing death. And yet its very use became the fulfillment of God’s perfect plan to redeem all mankind.

Look at the cross from another perspective.

It’s a set of wooden beams just like those that formed the doorway, and marked with the Blood of the Passover Lamb, Messiah Jesus/Yeshua. In a sense, the cross is also a Portal… so the only Way it can truly be understood and known and experienced is BY (X) entering in.

How do we enter in?

BY (X) becoming One/Echad with Him

Unlike physical doorways into places in the earth realm/kingdom, that take us from one place to another; this doorway, this portal is the WAY to a different realm. It’s a portal leading to a new Kingdom, a new reality and a whole new existence. This door enables us to leave behind our old lives, (just as the Israelites left Egypt,) and enter into a new realm. A new chaim, a new existence, a new reality with a new King and Lord.

The door is narrow, it’s only the width of a beam of wood and we must lay down all we are carrying because the door is not wide enough for burdens to be carried through it.

But it seems like there’s no opening in the cross… that is because it is a spiritual experience. His kingdom and realm is not of this world. It is supernatural, above natural. The only WAY to know this doorway, to experience this portal, is to go through it – through Him.

Those who do, will leave the kingdoms of the world behind and enter in, to the realm of His kingdom of the heavens/shamayim; which spiritually began here, and is our equivalent of entering the promised land through the portal of His cross.

It’s the only WAY to leave what we can never leave.

It’s the only WAY to go where we could never go.

By entering the portal, the Dalet of His cross. He is the door, the portal in time, the Dalet of Pesach.

The Door of the sheep of which He was the Passover Lamb.

A Question of Jonah’s Timing.

Yonah is the name Jonah in Hebrew and means dove. The connection to Jesus/Yeshua is referenced in Matthew 12:40 and can be understood when examined from the Hebraic mindset and the Jewish way of counting days and nights. Sunset always starts the Hebrew day, it’s roots are in Genesis 1.

In Hebrew Weeks is Shavua. [שבוע] A cycle of seven days, mirroring the 7 day period of the book of Genesis in which the world is created.

The names for the days of the week, like those in the creation account, are simply the day number within the week, with Shabbat being the seventh day. Each day of the week runs from sunset to the following sunset and is figured locally.

The Hebrew calendar follows a seven-day weekly cycle and in Hebrew, these names may be abbreviated using the numerical value of the Hebrew letters,

for example ‫יום א׳‎ Day 1, or Yom Rishon ‫יום ראשון‎:

Day 1 Yom Rishon – abbr. יום א meaning first day corresponds to Sunday  ‫יום ראשון

Yom Sheni – abbr. יום ב   meaning second day corresponds to Monday   ‫יום שנ

Yom Shlishi – abbr. ‫יום ג׳ meaning third day corresponds to Tuesday יום שלישי

Yom ReviʻI – abbr. ‫יום ד׳   meaning fourth day corresponds to Wednesday יום רביעי

Yom Chamishi – abbr. ‫יום ה׳ meaning fifth day corresponds to Thursday יום חמישי

Yom Shishi – abbr. ‫יום ו׳ meaning sixth day corresponds to Friday יום ששי

Yom Shabbat – abbr. יום ש׳ meaning rest שבת, or more usually Shabbat יום שבת

Also known as Yom Shabbat Kodesh יום שבת קודש (“holy rest day”).

This means that our Friday really begins on Thursday evening at sunset. The 2nd day begins at sunset on our Friday and continues through the daytime of our Saturday. Then our equivalent of Sunday begins at sunset on Saturday and continues through Saturday night and the hours of daylight of Sunday, making the third day.

Because the Jewish system was to count any portion of daylight as a full day, then Friday a.m. through Sun a.m. would have been understood as, and seen as, 3 complete days and nights. Reference to Jonah.

1st Day of the 3 days: Friday (really Day 6 of the week) was sunset on Thurs. night to sunset on Friday (really Day 5 of the week).

2nd Day Saturday (really Day 7 of the week) was from sunset on Friday night to sunset on Saturday night

3rd Day Sunday (really 1st day if the week) was from sunset on Saturday night to sundown on Sunday. Resurrection that day.

He was crucified at 9am on Friday and released His Spirit to the Father at 3pm. His body was prepared for burial and interred at sunset the same day. That was the beginning of the festival of Unleavened Bread. Then on Sunday after sunrise He became the first fruits.

To help explain the hours look at The Roman versus Mosaic Time Clocks

Sundials were used prior to the numbers on a clock face that we are accustomed to.

Venetians and Germans, both under Roman Influence, developed the modern clock. According to authorities, and Roman Catholic Church Archives, (Vatican Library); the first hour of the day began at what we now call 6 o’clock in the evening – directly opposite to the God’s original time clock as described in the Bible! This was likely done by demonic spirits (Eph. 6:112) influencing leaders, in order to spiritually disorient and disempower people.

This causes confusion and made understanding the scriptures harder. God is not the author of confusion, and why would He change that which He originally set in place and said was good? When we read of the 3rd hour, it is really 9 o clock and the 6th hour is 12.

The standard Mosaic Time Clock was in use for many thousands of years and people began their days in the evening according to Genesis 1:5 and John 11:9.

It’s physical orientation was changed upside down and back to front!  We know who is responsible for that!

Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay: for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not? or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it, He had no understanding? Isa.24:1
The Lord preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down. Ps. 146:9

Theoretically by reverting back to God’s WAY of keeping time, left and right brain function would improve as so too would people’s spiritual receptivity.

In the Creation Calendar, Hebrew Hours begin at sunrise and sunset.

A Hebrew Hour occurring between sunset and sunrise is called Hebrew Night Hour.

A Hebrew Hour occurring between sunrise and sunset is called Hebrew Day Hour

Sunset occurs and the First Watch begins exactly at the beginning of the first Hebrew Night Hour.

The Second Watch begins exactly at the beginning of the fourth Hebrew Night Hour

Mid-night occurs and the Third Watch begins exactly at the beginning of the seventh Hebrew Night Hour.

The Fourth Watch begins exactly at the beginning of the tenth Hebrew Night Hour, and ends at sunrise at the end of the twelfth Hebrew Night Hour

Sunrise is always exactly at the beginning of the first Hebrew Day Hour

Mid-day occurs exactly at the end of the sixth Hebrew Day Hour

Sunset occurs exactly at the end of the twelfth Hebrew Day Hour.

The duration of a Hebrew Hour varies with the season.

A Hebrew Day Hour is shorter in duration during winter when a Hebrew Night Hour is longer in duration.

A Hebrew Day Hour is longer in duration during summer when a Hebrew Night Hour is shorter in duration.

JEWISH TIME DIVISIONS IN THE 1ST CENTURY A.D.

Jesus/Yeshua replied, ‘Are there not 12 hours in a day?’
John 11:9

Why did He say this? Is it in reference to the importance of the Hours, Days, Times and Seasons of which we are to be mindful? They all have a deep meaning and He was not one to waste words, so it must have an importance that we have not fully understood.

A Hebrew Day consists of 12 Hebrew Night Hours and 12 Hebrew Day Hours.

The midpoint of the 12 Hebrew Night Hours is called Mid-Night. The moment of Mid-night occurs exactly halfway between sunset and sunrise separating the 6th and 7th Hebrew Night Hours.

The midpoint of the 12 Hebrew Day Hours is called Mid-day. The moment of Mid-day occurs exactly halfway between sunrise and sunset separating the 6th and 7th Hebrew Day Hours.

Between the moment of sunset at the end of the 12th Day hour and the 1st hour of the Night is called Between the Evenings or evening twilight.

At the last moment of that hour as the night begins is called Twinkling of an eye

These are the 12 Day hours of a day and what follows is what took place at each of them. As everything is connected to Messiah and speaks of Him and His fulfillment of Fathers’ plan of redemption, read with that perspective of, type and shadow, in mind and allow Ruach HaKodesh to reveal Himself to us in them.

The numbers on a Hebrew clock are the letters of the alef bet which each have numerical value. This one represents the modern clock with 12 at the top.

FIRST HOUR DAWN-8AM
After the priests prepare the altar (Lev 1:76:1-6/8-13; Mishnah: Tamid 1:2), the first male lamb of the Tamid sacrifice is brought out and tied to the altar at dawn (Mishnah: Tamid 3:2-3:3)

Sunrise over mount of Olives.

The twice daily communal sacrifice of the Tamid is the focus of religious life for the covenant people (Ex 29:38-42Num 28:4-8). It is the only sacrifice other than the Feast of First Fruits or the Sabbath that requires a single male lamb for the liturgical service. The Sabbath requires a male lamb in addition to the Tamid lamb for each of the two Sabbath services (Num 28:9-10)

SECOND HOUR  8-9am

THIRD HOUR 9-10AM
The incense is offered in the Sanctuary and the first Tamid lamb is sacrificed as the Temple gates open [Mishnah: Tamid 3:7; Edersheim, The Temple, chapter 7,

ROMAN TIME 9-10AM
It is the time for the communal “Shacharit” (morning) prayer service (Acts 2:15) at the start of the 3rd hour. Individual morning prayer may be recited until noon (Mishnah: Berakhot 4:1A; Acts 10:9)

FOURTH HOUR 10-11AM

FIFTH HOUR 11-12PM

SIXTH HOUR
The second lamb is brought out and tied to the altar at high noon. [Mishnah: Tamid 4:1]

NOON -1PM
The second Tamid lamb is given a drink from a gold cup and remains near the altar until the time of sacrifice (Ex 29:41Mishnah: Tamid 3:4; 4:1G; Josephus, Against Apion, 2.8[105]).
Individual afternoon prayer lasts from the sixth hour (noon) to about the eleventh hour (5 PM), the length of the time from when the second lamb is tied near the altar to the conclusion of the afternoon service (Mishnah: Berakhot, 4:1C; Acts 10:9).

SEVENTH HOUR 1-2PM

EIGHTH HOUR 2-3PM

NINTH HOUR 3-4PM
The second Tamid lamb is sacrificed [Antiquities of the Jews 14.4.3 (14:65); Philo Special Laws I, XXXV (169)]
3 PM is the second hour of prayer [Acts 3:110:9] “Minchah” (gift-offering); also called the hour of confession.

TENTH HOUR 4-5PM

ELEVENTH HOUR  5-6PM

The afternoon liturgical service is concluded with the burning of the incense (sacrifices of the two lambs is embraced by the burning of the incense, making it a single sacrifice) and the priestly benediction (Mishnah: Tamid, 6:3-7:2; Num 6:24-26).

TWELVETH HOUR 6PM-SUNDOWN

The end of the 3rd watch and the beginning of the 4th watch was signaled by a trumpet call, which occurred at the end of every watch.

This one was known as the cockcrow, as Jesus/Yeshua noted in Mark 13:35:
So stay awake, because you do not know when the master of the house is coming: evening, midnight, cockcrow or dawn.

Matthew 26:34, Luke 22:34, and John 13:38 all record:  “I tell you the truth,” Jesus answered, “This very night, before the cockcrow, you will disown me three times.

Cocks crow in the morning not during the night. This is the end of third watch of the night, in the time of Christ and the beginning of the tenth Hebrew Night Hour.

So it would seem He was saying that Peter would deny Him before the start of the tenth Hebrew hour, which was a full 2 hours before sunrise.

In our Lord’s time the Jews had adopted the Greek and Roman division of the night into four watches, each consisting of three hours, the first beginning at six o’clock in the evening (Luke 12:38Matthew 14:25Mark 6:48). But the ancient division, known as the first and second cock-crowing, was still retained.

The cock usually crows several times soon after midnight (this is the first crowing), and again at the dawn of day (and this is the second crowing). Mark mentions (14:30) the two cock-crowings.

Roman Horn

Matthew (26:34) alludes to that only which was emphatically the cock-crowing, the second, kok’-kro-ing (alektorophonia):

An indefinite hour of the night between midnight and morning

(Mark 13:35), referred to by all the evangelists in their account of Peter’s denial (Matthew 26:34, 74Mark 14:30; Luke 22:34; John 13:38). (It is derived from the habit of the cock to crow, especially toward morning.)

And is also a symbol of the Resurrection, our Lord being supposed to have risen
from the grave at the early cock crowing:

Roosters were not allowed in the city, according to Jewish ritual law. More likely, the Gospels refer to the trumpet call marking the changing of the guard at 3 A.M. This trumpet blast, heard city-wide, was called the cock-crow.

Roman signal horn.

Notice that according to St. Mark, Jesus went to the cross at the third hour, which in Jewish time corresponds to our 9AM [Mark 15:25], and according to the Gospel accounts He gave up His life at the ninth hour, our 3PM.

At the 9th hour during the temple lamb sacrifices, the same words were also shouted.

It is finished!

The Jewish day began at sundown.

sunset over old city

The daytime was divided into 12 seasonal hours, but the day division of hours was focused on the schedule of the Tamid sacrifice.

Twelve-hour night time division.

In Judaism, an hour is defined as (1/12), one twelfth of the time from sunrise to sunset, so, during the winter, an hour can be much less than 60 minutes, and during the summer, it can be much more than 60 minutes. This proportional hour is known as a ‘sha’ah z’manit’ (lit. a timely hour).

The daytime hours are often divided into Sha`oth Zemaniyoth or “Halachic hours” by taking the time between sunrise and sunset or between dawn and nightfall and dividing it into 12 equal hours.

Halachically, a day ends and a new one starts when three stars are visible in the sky.

The time between true sunset and the time when the three stars are visible (known as ‘tzait ha’kochavim’) is known as ‘bein hashmashot’.

The nighttime hours are similarly divided into 12 equal portions, albeit a different amount of time than the “hours” of the daytime.

(Roman night watch division was adopted after Roman occupation began in 63 BC)

THE NIGHT WATCH IN THE 1ST CENTURY A.D.

Sundown to 9PM First watch

9PM to midnight Second watch

Midnight to 3AM Third watch

3AM to sun rise Fourth watch

Sixth to the ninth hour were the hours of darkness when Messiah was on the cross.

The Roman calendar took precedence with the Julian calendar. Julius Caesar first implemented it in 46 B.C. Since the Roman emperor’s system miscalculated the length of the solar year by 11 minutes, the calendar had since fallen out of sync with the seasons.

The Julian Calendar marked a major change from the Lunar Republican Calendar, being a Solar calendar and the predecessor of the Calendar still in use today. It was not until 1582 AD that Pope Gregory XIII decreed a modification to the Julian calendar, giving us the “Gregorian Calendar” that governs modern time.

He removed 10 days from the calendar!

In reference to Jesus/Yeshua, the year was returned to 0 and separated B.C. from A.D. We are now at 2019 A.D. It is really approx. the year 6019, if we count from Creation to Messiah 4,000+ years and then add 2019!

Gives a whole new meaning to the statement no man knows the day nor the hour.

Some other references to hours

In contrast to Matthew, Mark, Luke and Acts, the book of John, as it now exists in the Greek manuscripts, numbers hours from midnight as the Romans did.

Pilate questioned  יהושע the Messiah at the sixth hour Roman reckoning according to John 19:14 which is the twelfth Hebrew Night Hour

יהושע the Messiah sat at Jacob’s well at Sychar at the sixth hour Roman reckoning after a tiresome journey according to John 4:6 which is the twelfth Hebrew Day Hour.

A nobleman travelled the better part of a day from Cana to Capernaum and met  יהושע the Messiah at the seventh hour Roman reckoning according to in John 4:52 which is the first Hebrew Night Hour.

The disciples came to the place  יהושע the Messiah was staying at the tenth hour Roman reckoning and stayed with Him for the rest of that day according to John 1:39. The tenth hour Roman reckoning is the fourth Hebrew Day Hour.

Acts 2:15 Peter speech at pentecost/ Shavuot four these are not drunk as you assume as it is the third hour of the day. 9 AM is the hour of morning prayer how is hour three equal to 9 AM?

John 4:6 it was about sixth hour which was noon 12 o’clock this also fits with the evening morning the first day. John 4:2 1 PM the seventh hour.

Because the clock has been reversed and that was 2000+ years ago and since that time everything has been altered to benefit those under the influence of the god of this world. Primarily to hide the truth and to throw everything out of kilter. The scriptures say he will change the times and seasons, that spirit of antichrist working in the worlds systems. The opposite of and in contrary rebellion to all that which was set in place by the Lord. He is the wrong DOR, an acronym for Direct Opposite Reverse.

For example: The evening and the morning constitutes a day, not morning and evening. The english language goes from left to write instead of right to left and books are red from left to right. This is not the way that the Hebrew language is written and read.

If we follow the scripture in Matthew 20:1–6, then 9 AM is the third hour.

vs.5, six and nine are equal to 12 Noon and 3 P.M.

vs 6. 5 PM is the 11thhour.

So if the day begins at sundown which is 6 P.M. to us, with the original clock that would be 12 PM.

Then 1 AM would begin and two cycles of the clock face for 24 hours would give the 24 hours of the day.

If this is true then what we call ‘anti clockwise’ is actually not anti but correct?

We really should be vigilant because..

Time is running out so…..

Messiah is The Pesach-Dalet in Time; He is The One Between 2 Realms; and the type of Yonah is fulfilled in The Watches of the Night.
